OMG !!! Your pipes look very similar to mine ! I'm tinkering with PVC pipes as well ! I have only 2 built so far. Will post a vid soon. You'll like it and maybe laugh at my trials as you've already been there.
David: thanks to your inspiration, I created a PVC pipe organ of my own. I've temporarily posted in my profile a link to the one I put together. I hope you find it interesting.
This so cool! I've thought about trying to build pipes from PVC too, but did not know how to go about doing it. How did you form the upper lip and mouth of the pipe??? More info please???
dude brilliant i've been working on a pvc pipe organ for weeks and i just cant figure out how to get pvc pipes to work please make a tutorial or tell me please!!!!!!!
Check out the design for the "epiphany pipe" by John Kleinbauer... use google or look in the technical gallery of the Mechanical Music Digest website.
Are you familiar with the music of Tom Waits? I'm sure if he hasn't seen this already, he'd be intrigued. Bravo on the use of recycled materials! And thanks for sharing.
excuse me for the comment¨you ´ve got nothing to do¨, i didn´t understand the whole thing, but what is your work for living?, i mean what did you study?...
I am a sound engineer/cd mastering engineer. I teach audio a little. I studied music and also physical sciences plus some linguistics and philosophy at uni. I like to make things be it music, recording or more tangible things - grear sense of achievement. I love that a few artists have employed me to help with some of their projects.
too expensive, why didnt u use a mecanic system?? using gravity or something like that?? like a music box, even thought is a great system... really good.
How do I build one....I'm mostly interested in the pipe, blower and windchest portion...I've played with real pipe organs for the past 25 years and have always wanted to build my own!
Well it is essentially made from reused and recycled stuff - vacuum cleaner, tea chests, timber, plastic drink bottles etc. However we have spent about A$500.00 on hardware bits, velcro, and tubing and the PVC pipes are about $10.00 per metre.
came up with the idea after drinking all the vodka bottles shown. XD
