Half of these losers are wondering how long the goddam band is going to play, so they can break formation without peeing their pants.
Like just about any soldier in the world, these guys will happily march in formation so long as they have a feedbag, a warm coat, a meal and a bunk to look forward to. A little Sousa music (or the Eugene Pottier Internationale, whatever) makes everyone feel good until they get that order to go out and kill for the Dear Leader.

What I really don't understand is how people in the DDR were made to sing this song which actually glorifies many things which were illegal, such as freedom of opnion and freedom from federal oppression and against the 'vanity of nations'..
@SOYUZ1968 Nope. I'm Dutch, with many friends in the old DDR. Now, explain to me, why did they sing a song praising freedom of opinion, freedom from federal government and freedom from nationalism, in military uniform saluting nationalistic symbols before they went on with their business of arresting, imprisoning without trial and shooting civilians that opposed socialism or wanted to leave the country?
Independently what DDR was, singing "Internationale" means to have respect of the workers and hopeless people dreams in the capitalistic exploitation (3/4 of all the human beings suffer to mantain the priviledges of the remaining quarter)..but it's very hard to explain this to people, as the yankees, with no history and social culture...I'm not guilty if the other human beings used the Marxism-Leninism to manage a state-capitalism in the name of the Great Socialist Perspective....
@Waranoa really? well, that's funny.... cause i happen to live in south east Asia. im now on a visit to my family in Holland. but thank you for the glorious compliment my Dutch friend. merry go round and round.... meh meh mehhhhhhh.......
@Waranoa no, because you talk a lot, judge a lot, but seem to miss a awful lot of experience..... typically Dutch..... merry go round and round........ Mehhhh
@sebaz1982 Well I don't see why I'm being particularly judgmental here, and I'm not pretending to have any experience either. I'm just saying I don't understand why the DDR had their military sing the Internationale; the irony is just so thick there. Is that just me?
@Waranoa I understand completely. The DDR, USSR, DPRK, and friends have no right to call themselves pro-worker, when they despise the worker just as much, if not more, than the capitalist.
The workers are too ignorant to do the right choices....they must be trained by the directors of the revolutionary course in the communistic transient phase then the Socialism will be possible, when everybody will reach the self-consciousness....otherwise ignorant people could choice shits like Berlusconi and similar stench beasts, with no possibility of social development anymore...
@SOYUZ1968 Socialism is already possible, and the anarchist revolutions in Barcelona and the Ukraine (both summarily put down by the 'pro-worker' Bolsheviks) prove this.
@SOYUZ1968 As long as ''Capitalism'' or rather free market ideology will be around the establishment of ''Communism'' will not be possible. The former Soviet Block couldn't really establish itself because of the ever ''imminent'' threat of the West attacking them physically and also because of its aggressive and ''manipulative'' deceitful propaganda. Human beings are easy to brainwash and they even prefer buying into lies such as ''freedom'' and ''liberty'' than financial security.
@SOYUZ1968 To continue my point like I said people rather sold off their financial and social security for the sugar coated ''promises'' and especially lies of the Capitalists. Today all surveys in DDR,CCCP,Romania etc tell us that over 50% of population are sick and tired of capitalism and alltogether preferred Socialism.
We know start to realize foor instance why the DDR had put up a wall against the fascist West... wouldn't the rest of the world do the same today against US/EU ?
It is like watching the Weimar Republic under the SPD rule. A so called workers party uses bourgeoisie symbols and uniforms. It is so ironic that East Germany was like the Weimar Republic when it comes to symbols. Both were under the command of a so called workers party ( SPD and SED ), both claimed to be socialist yet both used the symbols of the bourogsie.
The flag of East Germany was equal to that of the Weimar Republic. The uniforms of the NVA were equal to those of the Reichswehr.
In other words, "all parties that agreed with Lenin's party would have been allowed to operate freely." Which implies "parties that disagreed with the new government in any meaningful way would be illegal, and would be suppressed." In other words, no discourse, no dissent. Which is exactly why i am opposed to communism. because it always becomes an excuse for repression and dictatorship.
If I'm not mistaken, you're saying: the implementation of Communism itself can only come about through a process of changing human nature.
My point was: the very concept of coercively altering human nature and essentially turning human beings into guinea pigs for a "social experiment", is itself inhumane and will only result in disaster. People are not perfect and never will be.
@TheTollundWoman there's no such thing as a perfect person, because what's perfect to one person is imperfect to another. Communism is an anarcho-syndicalist society in which false scarcity is no longer existent and everyone has an equal oppertunity to fully develop himself/herself as a person, without the physical necessity of selling him/herself as a commodity. Human nature is not a constant factor. Characteristics of human nature result from the environment the individual develops in.
On your channel you have uploaded the national anthem of East Germany and the national anthem of the former Soviet Union- certainly not "anarcho-syndicalist" societies. These were repressive Leninist authoritarian states. how do you reconcile your support for these regimes with any form of "anarch-syndicalism"?
No (nominally) Communist state thus far has come anywhere close to eliminating false scarcity, in fact the exact opposite is true, many of the worst famines of the 20th century took place in communist countries due to the policies of dictators who used food as a political weapon
@TheTollundWoman Clearly, there has not yet been an authentic 'communist' society yet in modern times. Only dictators who hijacked the name of a humanist cause and turned it into a totalitarian system for their own egos. There hasn't been a real communist leader since Lenin, and even under his command bureaucrats took advantage of systemic vacume, which inevitably gave way to exile of Trotsky and the foundation of the Stalinist totalitarian disgraces of communism after Lenin's death.
Lenin was a dictator too, he outlawed all political opposition, purged the Social Revolutionaries and Mensheviks, and created the one-party state and the Cheka secret police. Lenin laid the basis of the repressive apparatus; Stalin only took advantage of what Lenin created
@TheTollundWoman (2nd) Lenin did outlaw political opposition, because the strongest opposition would have been that of the property-owning class of the tsarist regime and those foolish enough to support them. As far as the cheka, Lenin wanted a security police force for the new state, it was not in his consent that it turned into a domestic terrorist organisation to be put to its most extreme force during the days of Stalin. Lenin only led the USSR for less than 2 years, due to fatal sickness.
Actually there were widespread rebellions against the Bolsheviks led by peasants (the Ukrainian free state) and workers (the Kronstadt uprising) which were brutally suppressed. What did the Social Revolutionaries and Mensheviks have to do with the "property-owners"? if anything they were sworn enemies. "International loudmouths with guns" (both American and Soviet) saved Europe from Fascism and Naziism.
@TheTollundWoman (1) First and foremost, contrary to any assumptions, I have no interest in trying to cover up the crimes of the Bolsheviks. I think that if history is to move forward in the right direction, we need to analyse the truth of the past to make sure that such mistakes are not repeated. That said, I think the Bolsheviks have too much blame for unpleasant events put upon them as a group, and not enough pinpointed on the particular individuals responsible for particular wrongdoings.
@TheTollundWoman (2) Seeing things through the eyes of revolutionaries in the historical context, it's clear that in order to ensure the survival of a revolutionary state, all opposition must be dealt with accordingly to prevent the return of the overthrown system. I don't approve of the way in which some things were handled, but that said, what was done was done. And no, neither the USA nor the USSR began combat with fascist Germany until they were attacked.
"not yet been an authentic communist society"...then why do you have videos praising East Germany and the USSR, if neither of these are even "authentic communist societies"? you admit that Stalinism was a "totalitarian disgrace"- and yet you have videos glorifying Stalinist regimes. I'm confused
@TheTollundWoman (3rd) My video "Intro to Socialism and Communism" does not praise any regime, while it does have the tune of "Auferstanden aus Ruinen" simply because the theme of that song is universal to a communist and humanist ideal.
@TheTollundWoman (4th) If you're referring to American communists, it's because we're not international loud-mouths who wave guns in every other country's face. Korea will determine its own future, we will determine ours. In short, we mind our own business.
(For the future, please try to make your response in one comment - I only get notified of the last comment response on a video, so it makes it likely that you're previous comments won't be noticed.)
"the opportunity to fully develop him/her self as a person" Sounds wonderful. In reality whenever people try to "develop themselves" as individuals in Communist societies they end up dead, or imprisoned for "counter-revolutionary activities", or denounced as a "traitor" or a "rightist."
@TheTollundWoman (first) Clearly, you don't know what a communist society is, otherwise you'd know that there has not been a 'communist society' in the modern era.
@TheTollundWoman I don't support either particular system. And posting a video with an anthem isn't a sign of support. One just simply the anthem of the USSR that says "Humanity's first attempt in socialism" (which sounds hardly 'supportive') And the other completely oblivious to the DDR, only with the tune of the anthem.
oh really it never did, John lock and adam smith dosent ring you a bell. They convinced us that the crime of the private section can be morraly acceptable through all the sectors of society. . Socialism , prove you that what the governement do is bad, but u just have the right to say it. Who's worst ?
and why should it be illegal to advocate capitalism? why should it be illegal to speak in favor of counter-revolution? its legal in capitalist societies to support the communist party. there should be a parallel level of freedom in socialist countries. just because an idea or system contradicts the official view, does not give the government a right to censor all discourse.
Rule of the people=rule of the majority=rule of the working class? Accepted.
Rule by the working class neither requires, nor justifies, the violent suppression or elimination of all other classes. Nor can "rule of the working class" be equated with "rule by one party" particularly if that one party is neither founded, nor led by members of the working class. lenin and trotsky were not factory workers, they were intellectuals who became professional politicians and soldier
Lenin was the one who dismantled the worker councils (the origin of the word "soviet") and replaced them with authoritarian, centralized party control. How can Mensheviks, Bundists and Social Revolutionaries- all parties opposed to capitalism with strong roles in the labor movement- be classified as "enemies of the rule of the working class"?
@tommi59tk . Yeah. Except for the Wall and the Stasi. Oh, but wait, weren't the Wall and the Stasi the main columns of the DDR? Nostalgic feelings make us remember the good only and forget the bad, and "Ostalgie" is no exception to this...
Naziism is a totalitarian form of government centered around a personality cult (the "fuehrer", "duce" etc.) in which human and civil rights are nonexistent (Nuremburg racial laws...) in which there is only one legal political party (the one in power), in which all news, books etc. are censored, in which dissent is punished as "treason", in which the Gestapo (Nazis' KGB) uses torture and mass murder to repress opposition
The Nazis were one of the few governments in history to base their nationwide laws and policies directly on Eugenics (the racial pseudo-"science" long discredited by objective scientists). And remind me, what is the only state in the 21st century to still use Eugenics as an official basis for its laws? oh i remember...Communist North Korea...
My point is: Communists and Nazis use the same tactics, commit the same atrocities, have the same goal of a totalitarian dictatorship. and can you explain why the KPA uses the Nazi goose-step??
@TheTollundWoman The goal of Communism is a workers state the goal of Nazism was German dominated Europe and Asia. The goose step is a Prussian invention, the DDR occupied much of old Prussia. Next question.
What is the only country in the modern world that still uses Eugenics- the racial pseudo-science endorsed by the Nazis- as the basis of its penal and legal system? Answer- North Korea. "liberated" by the Red Army, which installed Kim Il Sung.
i used to like the internationale. now i hate it. those darn communazis.

Waranoa 3 months ago
@SOYUZ1968 Oh and I find it much more typical for a 'stupid yankee' to fire pointless insults at someone making an honest inquiry.
Waranoa 3 months ago
@Waranoa
yankee "honesty" is not so far from Al Quaeda's "politically correct".
SOYUZ1968 3 months ago
@SOYUZ1968 Why are you evading my questions?
Waranoa 3 months ago
@Waranoa
SOYUZ1968 3 months ago
@SOYUZ1968 Yes, that is exactly what I thought. I'm still wondering how the DDR got away with it with using it in this context.
Waranoa 3 months ago
@Waranoa
Maybe Socialism is a too great perspective to be reached by the human beings, but it's a perspective we must reach, someday

@sebaz1982 Why is that funny because you live in southeast Asia?
Waranoa 3 months ago
@Waranoa no, because you talk a lot, judge a lot, but seem to miss a awful lot of experience..... typically Dutch..... merry go round and round........ Mehhhh
sebaz1982 3 months ago
@sebaz1982 Well I don't see why I'm being particularly judgmental here, and I'm not pretending to have any experience either. I'm just saying I don't understand why the DDR had their military sing the Internationale; the irony is just so thick there. Is that just me?
Waranoa 3 months ago
@Waranoa I understand completely. The DDR, USSR, DPRK, and friends have no right to call themselves pro-worker, when they despise the worker just as much, if not more, than the capitalist.
CapitalistOverlord 3 months ago
@CapitalistOverlord
SOYUZ1968 3 months ago
@SOYUZ1968 Socialism is already possible, and the anarchist revolutions in Barcelona and the Ukraine (both summarily put down by the 'pro-worker' Bolsheviks) prove this.
CapitalistOverlord 3 months ago
@SOYUZ1968 As long as ''Capitalism'' or rather free market ideology will be around the establishment of ''Communism'' will not be possible. The former Soviet Block couldn't really establish itself because of the ever ''imminent'' threat of the West attacking them physically and also because of its aggressive and ''manipulative'' deceitful propaganda. Human beings are easy to brainwash and they even prefer buying into lies such as ''freedom'' and ''liberty'' than financial security.
calisse245 2 months ago

PainfullSylla 4 months ago
@PainfullSylla
yes, but capitalism's flaws are less dangerous, because unlike communism it doesn't try to change human nature in the name of some impossible utopia
TheTollundWoman 4 months ago
@TheTollundWoman communism is not a cause for change in human nature, it is an effect.
michaelwuzthere 4 months ago
@michaelwuzthere
TheTollundWoman 4 months ago
@TheTollundWoman there's no such thing as a perfect person, because what's perfect to one person is imperfect to another. Communism is an anarcho-syndicalist society in which false scarcity is no longer existent and everyone has an equal oppertunity to fully develop himself/herself as a person, without the physical necessity of selling him/herself as a commodity. Human nature is not a constant factor. Characteristics of human nature result from the environment the individual develops in.
michaelwuzthere 4 months ago
@michaelwuzthere
TheTollundWoman 4 months ago
@michaelwuzthere
No (nominally) Communist state thus far has come anywhere close to eliminating false scarcity, in fact the exact opposite is true, many of the worst famines of the 20th century took place in communist countries due to the policies of dictators who used food as a political weapon
TheTollundWoman 4 months ago
@TheTollundWoman Clearly, there has not yet been an authentic 'communist' society yet in modern times. Only dictators who hijacked the name of a humanist cause and turned it into a totalitarian system for their own egos. There hasn't been a real communist leader since Lenin, and even under his command bureaucrats took advantage of systemic vacume, which inevitably gave way to exile of Trotsky and the foundation of the Stalinist totalitarian disgraces of communism after Lenin's death.
michaelwuzthere 4 months ago
@michaelwuzthere
Lenin was a dictator too, he outlawed all political opposition, purged the Social Revolutionaries and Mensheviks, and created the one-party state and the Cheka secret police. Lenin laid the basis of the repressive apparatus; Stalin only took advantage of what Lenin created
TheTollundWoman 4 months ago
@TheTollundWoman (2nd) Lenin did outlaw political opposition, because the strongest opposition would have been that of the property-owning class of the tsarist regime and those foolish enough to support them. As far as the cheka, Lenin wanted a security police force for the new state, it was not in his consent that it turned into a domestic terrorist organisation to be put to its most extreme force during the days of Stalin. Lenin only led the USSR for less than 2 years, due to fatal sickness.
michaelwuzthere 4 months ago
@michaelwuzthere
TheTollundWoman 4 months ago
@TheTollundWoman (1) First and foremost, contrary to any assumptions, I have no interest in trying to cover up the crimes of the Bolsheviks. I think that if history is to move forward in the right direction, we need to analyse the truth of the past to make sure that such mistakes are not repeated. That said, I think the Bolsheviks have too much blame for unpleasant events put upon them as a group, and not enough pinpointed on the particular individuals responsible for particular wrongdoings.
michaelwuzthere 4 months ago

TheTollundWoman 4 months ago
@TheTollundWoman (3rd) My video "Intro to Socialism and Communism" does not praise any regime, while it does have the tune of "Auferstanden aus Ruinen" simply because the theme of that song is universal to a communist and humanist ideal.
michaelwuzthere 4 months ago
@michaelwuzthere
then why don't communists protest Kim Jong Il the same way they protested Bush and Nixon?
TheTollundWoman 4 months ago
@TheTollundWoman (4th) If you're referring to American communists, it's because we're not international loud-mouths who wave guns in every other country's face. Korea will determine its own future, we will determine ours. In short, we mind our own business.
(For the future, please try to make your response in one comment - I only get notified of the last comment response on a video, so it makes it likely that you're previous comments won't be noticed.)
michaelwuzthere 4 months ago
@michaelwuzthere
"the opportunity to fully develop him/her self as a person" Sounds wonderful. In reality whenever people try to "develop themselves" as individuals in Communist societies they end up dead, or imprisoned for "counter-revolutionary activities", or denounced as a "traitor" or a "rightist."
TheTollundWoman 4 months ago
@TheTollundWoman (first) Clearly, you don't know what a communist society is, otherwise you'd know that there has not been a 'communist society' in the modern era.
michaelwuzthere 4 months ago
@michaelwuzthere
But according to your channel you support East Germany and the USSR.
If neither of these state represent communism, why do you support them?
TheTollundWoman 4 months ago
@TheTollundWoman I don't support either particular system. And posting a video with an anthem isn't a sign of support. One just simply the anthem of the USSR that says "Humanity's first attempt in socialism" (which sounds hardly 'supportive') And the other completely oblivious to the DDR, only with the tune of the anthem.
michaelwuzthere 4 months ago
@TheTollundWoman

TheTollundWoman 5 months ago
@ProgressiveThinker90
and why should it be illegal to advocate capitalism? why should it be illegal to speak in favor of counter-revolution? its legal in capitalist societies to support the communist party. there should be a parallel level of freedom in socialist countries. just because an idea or system contradicts the official view, does not give the government a right to censor all discourse.
TheTollundWoman 5 months ago
@ProgressiveThinker90
There is such a thing as "tyranny of the majority" and "intimidating the enemies of the rule of the working class" is exactly that.
TheTollundWoman 5 months ago
@ProgressiveThinker90
TheTollundWoman 5 months ago
@ProgressiveThinker90

TheTollundWoman 7 months ago
@TheTollundWoman Do you even know what a Nazi is? Idiot.
Uptoyourfacelads 7 months ago
@Uptoyourfacelads
TheTollundWoman 7 months ago
@Uptoyourfacelads
TheTollundWoman 7 months ago
@Uptoyourfacelads
My point is: Communists and Nazis use the same tactics, commit the same atrocities, have the same goal of a totalitarian dictatorship. and can you explain why the KPA uses the Nazi goose-step??

@TheTollundWoman, goose-step is a Prussian tradition, not a nazi one.
QUEDALI 7 months ago
@TheTollundWoman The goal of Communism is a workers state the goal of Nazism was German dominated Europe and Asia. The goose step is a Prussian invention, the DDR occupied much of old Prussia. Next question.

@Uptoyourfacelads
What is the only country in the modern world that still uses Eugenics- the racial pseudo-science endorsed by the Nazis- as the basis of its penal and legal system? Answer- North Korea. "liberated" by the Red Army, which installed Kim Il Sung.
