@DrDAP Those power-piped over-the-top Broadway & theatre divas might be preferred by some and I appreciate them for what they do, but as far as a singer who is a thoroughly bad motherfucker on the stage or at a session, singing heartwrenching ballads or swinging so hard it's stupid, nobody touches Ella. Just my opinion.

They broke the mold with this one. She had smooth down to a science, and she had this instinctive ... thing (since I ain't got 'it', I wouldn't know what to call it, even if I did) that captivated, regardless of what it was she was singing. I'd call it professionalism, but damn, it was WAY too natural for that. She just had 'it'.
