@gilmourish; Well.. I kinda agree, yet the "imperfection" also makes it interesting IMO. As long as you can hear what he's saying I have no problem with it myself to be honest.
what i dont like about it is that live + m4l cost twice than just live, and if you are a developer, you are paying twice to extend the power and popularity of their software,
like paying 300 euro for a c++ compiler.
is there a market of m4l patches? like ok, i made a patch but i want to sell it to get back those 300€
I bought max for live and so far, they need to make a lot of upgrades. Lags like hell on my computer for some reason, and they need to make it easier to send data between Live's tracks (for instance, take data from from a Max Audio effect and send it to a MIDI effect on a different live track).
he has been working on it for years he is probably knackered ...saying that even the first videos he made for old versions of live where a little on the inexpressive side to be honest
i cant wait either its the birth of real controllerism Max is awesome as is but its allways been a pain to get into a d.a.w. with any sort of fluidity
This is so awesome, this is going to enable me to do some unheard of things when doing controllerism sets.
Previously alot of my ideas have been inpracticle due to the time it would take to program because i would basicly have to build an entire setup in Max or a similar program to Max.
Now all these ideas i have had are suddenly very practicle and doable without overly stupid ammounts of time investment.
Im looking very much forward to sharing what i make with the electronic music scene :)

Gerhard Behles is one of the founders of Ableton, if he spoke Swahili I would still listen to him. :)

@fermixx: if you are a programmer I'm sure you'd get Max prior to M4L. Ofcourse, that only costs you $699 and doesn't include a DAW.
Yes, M4L comes with a price, but its so damn well worth it. The sky becomes the limit here whereas Live keeps you down to earth :-)

@fermixx I think the idea is that you make it for yourself and it pays off because your music gets better.

Hi, i have a question for you if you can help to me. I use ableton live 7, manual says:
"Note that Live will only display video for video clips residing in the Arrangement View.
Movie files that are loaded into the Session View are treated as audio clips".
I'd like to display my movie files into the Session View when i shoot them with my midi surface...it is possible with max for live?
