THE BRILLIANT FINISH IS ALOT MORE METALIC SOUNDING THAN THE NATURAL. I TRIED BOTH AT THE STORE, AND THE NATURAL FINISH WAS FAR BETTER, SMOOTHER, AND SWEETER THAN THE BRILLIANT. KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN BUYING THIS CYMBAL.
@MrMutron not really. I have a brilliant sweet ride and it's far darker than the traditional finish sweet rides I have heard/played. It really just depends on the individual cymbal itself. The finish can make a difference, but the actual properties of the cymbal itself make a bigger difference. Also, my brilliant sweet ride has broken in beautifully and it has a warm and full crash better than any traditional sweet ride I have ever heard.
@enjoi4486 any k cymbal would be better but it matters how much youre willing to spend and depending on how you play it youre sweet ride could last long
i need some help i play in a hard rock band and im looking for a good ride im stuck between this or the 22" a custom ping ride please help and tell me what you think
@Joshdafunk get this the only good ping ride is the 22 a ping ride the others just have this really annoying sound to them the sweet ride is amazing in person and the traditional sounds much better
finishes always make a difference !! if it's polished to a brilliant finish the grooves on the cymbal are smoother and that obviously will change the dynamic of the cymbal itself..ever hear a zildjian pitch black cymbal?..those cymbals have soo much decay that it's ridiculous.ever hear hear a jack dejohnette raw cymbal with that earthy finish?..they sound like trash can lids but that's the sound he loves so there you have it !!
That's the most awkward place to have a ride

Traditional finish --> best sound
