i recently started watching these old movies and i am looking for movies from fred astaire and gene kelly. not specifically together but with atleast one of them and i also like bing and donald.o connor
and that brings me to my question!

@HeatherGlen33 Im really sorry to say that our Donald passed away in 2003 ... He died of a heart failure. RIP Donald, never forgotten <3 We love you :)
@HeatherGlen33 historical context is the site donaldo'connor.org....it's a tribute to his life and career...it is fantastic!!!! He was one of a kind...a treasure!!!! There are so many who just love him for who he was as a person and for all the joy that he brought so many through his fabulous performances. He was one sexy gentleman...a little sidenote...on a T.V. show a few years ago, 5 beautiful Hollywood actresses rated Donald as the best kisser in Hollywood. We sure know that...sigh!
@HeatherGlen33 He had great success touring with Debbie Reynolds and later with Mickey Rooney. He had been on stage all his life and as a Paramount producer said....his name spelled backwards would be talent. He was an incredible talent, an adorable man, and a wonderful person...I've read some beautiful tributes to him and all say he was such a gentleman and very humble and generous. I recommend that you watch the biography and an excellent site that puts his whole life and career in
@faith4094 yes, there will never be another donald,i maybe just 26 but for the younger generantions like me to apreacate this lost art and its beauty thats something, we need more younger pple tooning in to this..
@HeatherGlen33 overcame his disease through faith and helping others. He was reunited with his family and didn't drink again for the last 25 years of his life. His wife said God gave him the gift of sobriety...she said she was lucky to have a second chance in life with him...he was a wonderful, wonderful man...the one you want to spend the rest of your life with. He went on to have great success in the 80's and 90's...he did an Emmy nominated number at the Oscars..and got a standing ovation.
@HeatherGlen33 Fabulous couple and had 3 children ( and a daughter from his first marriage). He was successful in the 60's...the 70's saw the drinking problem...he had a lot of family losses that hit him in middle age plus a genetic perdisposition to alcoholism...his sister was killed by a car when he was a baby, his father died a few weeks later....a brother died and then another brother...one brother was in his 20's, another in his 40's like his father had been. He had help in 1978 and
@HeatherGlen33 uploads of those movies like the fabulous Walking My Baby Back Home with Janet Leigh. Personally, his first marriage ended, after 10 years, in 1954...nothing to do with drinking...difficult for Donald...she wanted a career...became very discontented when she didn't get it. He tried to help, but ..no real talent. From every single account, Donald was a very wonderful and beloved man. He remarried, in 1956, and remained married to her for the rest of his life...they were a
@HeatherGlen33 the Rain, named the best musical ever made (AFI) and the 10th best movie made...He won the Globe for Best Actor in a musical or comedy. He was huge on T.V. at that time and won an Emmy as Best Male star. He made huge movies like Call Me Madam with great romantic numbers with Vera-Ellen, There's No Business Lke Show Business, and Anything Goes with Bing Crosby who he made his first movie with, as a boy, in 1938. He also had wonderful performances at Universal...see
@HeatherGlen33 There are loads of us who are huge fans of Donald's here. A&E did a fabulous biography on him in 1999. Look on wasittoyou's channel...it's uploaded in 4 parts..I own all of his great movies as do others..many are uploaded here, including his wonderful teen ones when he was a teen idol. Check sorrowfulflower's channel...he had so many fabulous performances. He died in 2003. He had tremendous success in 40's and 50's, especially, when he won the Golden Globe for Singin' in
@DontConform check out sorruwfulflower channel. Ive requested them to upload it and is will hopefully be up shortly ! They have tons of other Donald O'Connor movies as well ! (all the way back to when he was a Kid!) enjoy! :)
@DontConform Yes, sorrowfulflower has great uploads of Donald's movies...I, fortunately, own them all and they are fantastic, including the ones when he was a teen idol...there was no one more talented or adorable:)))
Try to buy Call Me Madam...easy to buy...it can't be uploaded because of song rights...just certain parts... but Donald is brilliant and romantic dancing with Vera-Ellen and his singing with Ethel Merman is spellbinding:))) The huge hit song that they do can't be uploaded...
@DontConform The first time they sing it, Donald has the slower part...that was the hit one that no one can upload...they can upload the second tme they sing it when Donald has the faster part...but, it's the first one that is absolutely mesmerizing. Sorrowfulflower will be uploading Walking My Baby Back Home...that is one of our favorites....Donald is so sweet, romantic, and sexy in it....just amazing!!!!!! The numbers are WOW!!! It should be up soon. I don't upload, unfortunately, but
@DontConform Also, check out Anything Goes..fabulous...his number with Mitzi Gaynor is fantastic and his repartee with Bing Crosby is great. Sorrowfulflower uploaded it and it was on TCM last night...I wish I had seen your comment before it was aired. Other favorites are Are You With It?, Yes Sir, That's My Baby, There's No Business Like Show Business - an incredible solo number...sensational....loads of others:)))))) He was always amazing:))))))))))
@rockgor This is from I Love Melvin - 1953 - the year after Singin' in the Rain. Donald has loads of fabulous movies with incredible numbers - Call Me Madam, Anything Goes, Walking My Baby Back Home, Are You With It?, Yes Sir, That's My Baby, There's No Business Like Show Business, and more, including his terrific teen movies when he was a teen heartthrob. He was the best and the most adorable!!!:)))
I finally saw this whole movie and Donald was just wonderful! he dances in anything, rollerskates, clogs, you name it. And he did it all while being adorably in love with Debbie Reynolds :)
Gotta just love Donald O'Connor, one of greatest and least appreciated hoofers. And I fall in love every time I see Debbie Reynolds! So thanks for posting this gem.
@canarylove funnily i use to think about kathy and cosmo being together and i found clip whilst wondering if they were ever in anything else together.
@gladwren How many songs sung by Donald have you heard? He sang incomparably BETTER than Fred! Try 'Call me madam' movie and you'll find out that I'm right...
Thank you for uploading! I've been looking for this song for MONTHS! I was channel surfing and saw this scene and just fell in love. Thank you SO much!
Even though the production quality is not on a par with some other MGM movies, Donald O'Connor and Debbie Reynolds give it their all. Real pros.

@MultiFroggies Easter Parade is a good one. It gives you Astaire, Judy Garland and tap-dance queen Ann Miller. For Kelly, I like "On the Town."
