Could you tell me how many interior side plates in your model 602 ?
The reason I ask is I have the Upland Model 17 (Jotul 602 clone) and the parts list only one inside hanging plate per side but the Jotul 602 parts list appear to show (2) interior plates per side - specifically a liner plate and a burn plate. I'm guessing this is why my model 17 is listed at about 25lbs less than the 602. The Upland shares many same eaxct part #'s as the Jotul. Thx for any reply!
Thanks for the video. Do you think that the Jotul 602 would be too large (in terms of heat output) for a 200 square foot cabin? The cabin is fully insulated in Southern Canada. I have experience with an average sized airtight wood stove in a normal sized house, but am not too sure just how much we could dampen down or control the heat of the Jotul stove in the little cabin so as to not cook ourselves out of the place. Thanks.
I just sold my old 602, way older than yours. It was showing signs of warpage, still was able to get $250 for it, paid $100 about 10 years ago. Good radiant stove, economical to run.
That is pretty good profit you made on a ten year old stove. That is another the nice thing about these stoves, is that they hold or increase in value over time.
Hey , yeah, I actually think it`s about 20-30 years old, according to what folks have told me. It had no glass, no air intake like yours. I figured the cost in restoring it would be counter productive, as I already have a woodstove.
If you go to their web site, they show that some of their wood stoves have a short leg kit. I don't know if this stove has that option though. I don't know that I would want to cut the legs of a $1000 wood stove though.
The stove was $899 + tax. I think it came out to be around $1400 after all the insulated pipe, ceiling mounting kit and so forth. I did the installation so that saved about $400. Stoves are not cheap but once they are installed they are free to operate if you spend the time to get your own wood.
The store I worked at in the 70's had a knockoff off the #118 and it was a great stove. This year I finally installed a new airtight #118 and it's running me out of the house (I live in NC). I've had to open windows and run the fans. Can't wait for it to get colder. These are wonderful stoves. I have a moderate background in metalworking and the casting is beautiful . They're really well made, very efficient and durable. There is really nothing like wood heat.
Hello from Northern Saskatchewan , Canada . Love your stove , thinking about getting this same one or the Jotul Black Bear . Check that one out . I own a Vermont Castings Dutchwest cast iron woodstove(catalytic large model ) & really enjoy it . I admire the style of my stove along with the Jotul F602 CB & Jotul Black Bear . Thanks for sharing your videos . Faron
Thanks for the comment. So far I am impressed with the Jotuls. We are actually going to buy a F3 or F400 tomorrow for the house, as this one is in the shop.

Mine is like the manual. There is just one interior burn plate with an insulating liner between it and the sidewall plate. Hope that helps.

Thank you for posting videos about this stove. I am considering buying one and appreciate seeing it in action, and hearing real opinions about it.
