You had to pay £15 entry to get into the venue, and pay for each other tournament so there'd be a prize pot, but this was free entry and I think Bandai Namco supplied the winner's money, as they were trying to get people excited for the game, which I think worked!
It was an exclusive console demo version with all characters which was available to play at Super Versus Battle 2009, a U.K. fighting games event on 11-13th September 2009. There was a free to enter tournament with £500 prize money. Pretty sweet!
