I'm still a fan, Mayweather is my favorite because I'm a fan of brilliant counter punching, Anderson Silva is my favorite in MMA. I watch both sports because there are great fights in both. I'm just a fight fan. Bernard Hopkins put on an excellent performance at 46 years old! And there are some great young fighters coming up in both sports.

@PhukAdvertisements I agree that it is, and MMA catches a lot of flak because there's the ground-dimension added to it, but I won't knock Boxing as I personally feel insulting one aspect that contributes to MMA is no different than insulting the entire sport, in my mind.
Hopefully we can come to a gentlemen's agreement about this matter and agree to disagree about Boxing, but I will agree that I find MMA a bit more entertaining.

@showstopper316 I enjoy MMA more, but I've been a fan of boxing since I was a kid. I grew up watching guys like Hagler, Sugar Ray, Hearns, Tyson, & Lewis. I'm still a fan, Mayweather is my favorite because I'm a fan of brilliant counter punching, Anderson Silva is my favorite in MMA. I watch both sports because there are great fights in both. I'm just a fight fan. Bernard Hopkins put on an excellent performance at 46 years old! And there are some great young fighters coming up in both sports.

I question Max's/HBO's staged interruption with Sugar Shane Mosley. I felt that HBO wanted to steal Mayweather's victory over Marquez by deliberately trying to create a controlled chaos with Mayweather's victory by having Max introduce Mosley as a potential next opponent for Mayweather. Yet I commend Max for not engaging Floyd after the mayhem BUT not allowing the CHAMPION to have his say I find contentious! I hope that Max understands Floyds' outrage and does not take it personally.

leonard may have been a bad example but he did fight hearns twice, hagler, and so on....so floyd should face williams and cotto once or twice and be on his way......even hopkins who has had a brilliant career, in spite of not being noticed for some ten years, he wants to chicken out the last time roy jones challenged him to a fight a few weeks back..oh well...i guess at 44 he should be able to pick and choose unlike a young jones and a presently young prettyboy

Who would you like to see Floyd fight again? noone right? You would like for him to have a brawl with Cotto or Williams or Pacquiao right? Here's my take.. all current welterweights should avoid Williams at this time. Cotto or Pacquiao would be a good match for Mayweather. Mosley should be fighting Cotto again. I thought that was a close fight and Mosley could probably take Cotto the second time around, but Cotto won't fight Mosley. Pacquiao has turned Mosley down 2 that's why he's chas'n PBF.

Sugar Ray Robinson was just about broke when he died, Joe Frazier is broke and we know what happened to Muhammad Ali. I have so much mad respect for Max, he shows respect for other sports like MMA but is a great boxing historian, I hate Larry Merchant & Jim Lampley & if Larry & Jim are the only commentators, I will mute my tv & watch the fight

As for Larry Merchant, I understand the criticisms, but I find him 100% less annoying than Mike Goldberg screaming at me.
