I'm not Italian ( have been to Italy, several time) not English ( have been to England several times) and not Mexican ( have been to Mexico, once). Nevertheless I find her food to be easy and great. No room for criticism. If that's you preference than find another YouTube channel.
@nyc11104 Thanks. Why do they even bother to like Nigella if they're only going to criticise her? Why do they follow her? They don't understand what Nigella is trying to bring across here. She's not a professional cook, but a professional housewife/mother, and she thinks like one. Cheers
There's no need to argue. I'm Italian and I love Nigella!
Moreover I love ragù but its traditional recipe requires too many hours and work to make it like a grandma would do. I would rather choose this 20 minutes version! :P
@suggestionabile Thank you. You're an example for all those oversensitive Italians out there. I don't think that they realise that Nigella is not a professional cook, but a professional housewife, who takes shortcuts to HELP people. She never claims to recreate any authentic recipe, regardless of its origin.
@vioncina I notice that everytime Nigella prepares something remotely Italian, some Italian person has to come along and correct her; Nigella NEVER said that this was authentic Ragu. You Italians really need to stop being so oversensitive about your food. She is giving an example of how to make a quick version when you've just come home from a long day and are too tired to prepare a full meal. Think before you speak.
@xxHannahxxTobyxx Don't waste your time, xxHannahxxTobyxx, because italians are oversensitive when it comes to THEIR culture and THEIR food; they don't want to listen to reason.
@skymuffn I'm hooked on poached eggs. For me, nothing beats poking through a fluffy cloud of egg whites into a gooey yolk. They're just a bit more complicated than fried eggs and more risky... but worth it to me!
I also like to watch and read recipes of more sophisticated chefs (e.g. i love Jamie Oliver!), but in practice i don't want to spend my monthly income on a single dish or i simply can't find the ingredients where i live.
See, that's what makes the difference between Nigella and all the fashionable professional star chefs! She is a professional housewife, she thinks with a housewife's brain and always finds the easy and practical shortcuts to adapt homecooking to the expectations of 21st century.
This rapid ragu is actually delicious. And for something cooked in a very short amount of time, is truly what comfort food is all about. Full of flavor and instant gratification!
I think she meant he thinks it's appalling to eat it just by itself without pasta. I must say I've never thought about eating a ragu by itself either haha.
well, in a way, it is almost like Texas-style chili..... which is meat in a slowly cooked, tomato based sauce with usually some type of BBQ sauce, with added spices, but with no beans at all.
Man I love Nigella Express. I use to watch Nigella Bites back when I had the food network, but I enjoy the express a lot more because I'm like her, I want something fast!

@SuperSpankSpank Nigella is not a chef. She never claimed to be, either. But the rest is correct.
