You have to ask yourself -What is This Man Thinking ,what's inside ,goin on in There..I ,can say this; I ,feel He is and was and all Encompassing Miracle ..We should hear more on Hin and His Life .....
He is playing Misty in key of A-flat, not regular E-flat (!?)
Another thing: at 4:03 he (and the bass tracking him) seems to start moving through the bridge harmonic changes twice faster, than corrects himself? Anybody- comments? - Misty's form always was controversial - does anybody have any credible info that Misty's form was originally asimetrical ( as implied by his bassist in James Doran's book)?
MMM613, yes, at 4:03 he plays the dominant Ab 7 earlier than expected, but IMO he only hints harmonically at what is to come. What he does next is to return at once to the preceding Eb m7 to go through the first four bars of the bridge in the normal way. I certainly don't get the idea that he goofed somehow. But your ears are OK!
I must have watched this clip over a hundred times and I am still in amazement at the great skill, joy and style of Erroll Graner's playing, it's simply awsome. I must say that I am really very sorry to have missed out on the opportunity of seeing him perform live.
I missed him too. I can't remember that he was in Oslo. Not yet watched 100 times, but it for sure will happen some time in the future. I will never get tired of EG's music - its for ever.
Thanks so much Dennis.
I love Erroll as you know

this is just pure joy in Errols's playing, it's more than "hot", it swings, with such passion in the beat, it's spinning!
