  • uh oh someones getting fired

  • My tax dollars are obviously at work, thank you infrastructure. Maybe if we weren't spending so much money on the drug war we would have some money to spend on road's that work properly.

  • @MinWildTwins the wars are about ensuring your freedoms! like the freedom to express your opinion on a social site such as Youtube... get it straight.

  • This is very scary. I live in seattle and its a big shit hole. My money says it happens here next. Im not usaly concerned but in wa state everyone seems to be stupid, and everything is run down, exspecialy bridges. Wa state needs to stop being full of retards.

  • Its wierd how there was one car that passed by at 0:40 to 0:44

  • Can you imagine the reaction of the guy panning the camera? Wow.

  • Wow! This is so shocking, sad.and scary.

  • "Aw what now..."

    *pans camera*

    "...OH..."

  • fuhhh immagine how unbelievable this must have been to witness

  • :*(

  • :(

  • this is so jacked up!

  • Liar

  • I was in that. I got out of my car cause the door broke. it shook again, throwing me in. i almost drowned had it not been for the bridge mesh

  • spending hundreds of billions killing people in foreign countries and they can't even fortify some bridges for us....so sad....

maybe these tragedies will help people look for alternatives to coercive monopoly power like our government.

    check out freedomain radio !!!!

  • @errorspending you sound like a redneck that's just trying to be sympathetic

  • I Didn't See The Collapse Itself

  • I was there 15 minutes before... so sad...

  • I was there

  • first this, now the metrodome

  • i remember seeing this on the news, i was maybe 17 at the time and i remember being so scared of every bridge...still am...but i wouldve been like those cars turning around...i refuse to sit on a bridge that just collapsed so the other half can collapse...

  • i was there and captured the most terrifying stills.

  • I would also like to point out that people are probably busy, or have something important to do or trying to get somewhere, and when the path they are on is cut off, they are going to find another one. Sometimes people stop, most of the time not. You should not judge someone for taking care of there business. I see that they are simply being "worried about theirselves" and "minding their own buisness." Thats what alot of people get told now isn't.

  • You have to live somewhere, I don't know how other countries are, but everywhere you go, there are problems, and everyone has the right to bitch about them. Don't tell other people to keep their mouth shut and move to another place. You know what happens when everybody knows something is wrong, but nobody does anything about it, something really stupid happens. Do not come and tell me about what the problem is, go to tell the person that is in charge.

  • I hate this fucking country.

This piece of shit government can afford a two Trillion dollar war for Israel but can't fix its own infrastructure.

I'd rather fight against the US than for it.

I'd give absolutely anything for the opportunity to put a bullet through some sergeant's head.

  • @MrFLICKYOLI : I have only one word for you "LEAVE"!! If you dont like it ,get out! We may not be perfect but.... and you better watch what you say or someone will put one in yours!!! US MEDIC

  • @MrFLICKYOLI

    "I hate this fucking country."

Then get out. Nobody is forcing you to stay. Whining like a bitch won't change a damn thing.

"I'd give absolutely anything for the opportunity to put a bullet through some sergeant's head."

Hey, you know where your nearest military base is. You know where the gun shop is. I don't like the wars either, but at least I'm not crying over them like a petulant child or laying out obvious flaimbait all day on youtube like a basement dweller.

  • I HATE PEOPLE WHO SAY "GO HELP INSTEAD OF MAKING A U-TURN" IF THE FUCKING BRIDGE IS COLLAPSING WOULDN'T YOU WANT TO MAKE A U-TURN TOO SO YOUR NOT NEXTED?

  • @TraceurTyler Nexted isn't a word, and actually makes no sense.

  • I hope the jerks who turned around and drove away instead of helping get what they deserve.

  • Whoa, they just make a U-turn as if nothing had happened.

  • What's up with the LOL I wish u ppl that said that were there to let u all see how fearful and scary it is

  • LOL The cars are like "WOO HOO WORKS OFF!!"

  • LOL

  • LOL all the cars turn around and hightail it the fuck out of there like oh shit, every man for himself! LOL! This vid is awesome.

  • Was it close to 4th Street and University Dr.?

  • @pageplant77 ROFL

  • i TOOK THAT BRIDGE TO WORK EVERYDAY. I CALLED INTO WORK THAT DAY BECAUSE MY SON WAS SICK. BUT FOR THOSE OF YOU IMMATURE .... PEOPLE ON HERE MAKIN JOKES, THAT ..... IS NOT FUNNY, PEOPLE DIED FROM THIS.

  • @itsover4ub1tch The problem is NOT ENOUGH people (if Minnesotans can be considered people) died on that bridge...

Now that the ObamaMessiah has been elected with the help of people from Minnesota and the bridge been fixed by the ObamaMessiah's FECAL touch?

  • @russ1951 you are so rude and immature. why dont you go to that bridge that they rebuilt and jump off it a s s

  • @russ1951 Your ignorance, and sheer stupidity are nothing short of astonishing.

  • @russ1951 stupid moron, are fucking dumb are you, learn to school you pestilent animal.

  • @itsover4ub1tch Well, it's not funny, but... An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Your local government should have put more money into repairing or building bridges.

  • @sc0pl355 Minnnesota liberal lakes and land of 10000 or more taxes apparently didn't have the wherewithall to sink all that tax money into the bridges. They chose to build light rail instead

  • @ssmartvhf that's because we had a Republican governor.

  • Yeah... Would you assholes please stop making jokes about this? People that I love died.

  • @templerunes The real shame is that you weren't working on having the bridge repaired back in '95...

  • @templerunes then why are you watching this a video on this subject on youtube, you know all your going to see is people practicing their right to free speech

  • @ABurntMuffin Becase it came up in the related videos a few weeks ago.. :/

  • I love how everyone is making fun of this and ppl could of died. Ha-ha-ha. My turn. (On phone) "Oh no, I'm going into a tunnel, I'm gonna lose y-"

  • @punkgirl134679 13 people did die.

  • @punkgirl134679 could have died? people did die douchbag.

  • I'm pretty sure one of the survivors was on an episode of I Survived. Sounded pretty intense

  • 00:42 "Screw you guys, I'm going home!"

  • "Oh, this whole day's been terrible so far, first I woke up late and stubbed my toe out of bead, then I poured my coffee, only to find that there's no creamer! ...what could go wors-" *bridge collapses* "OH COME ON! Now I'm definitely going to be late for work!..."

  • all those bastards turning around, if you were down there, you would want help immediately right?. i would have stopped my car and started to help out. i have been a Good Samaritan on a few occasions.

  • @kalahiki808 Well they were probably scared that the rest of it could collapse. If you want to tell me your gut instinct would be to run over there despite the danger, go ahead.

  • @kalahiki808 Yeah, I would have jump out of my car and lifted the bridge up with my own two hands, thats what I would have done I tell ya... :-P

  • @kalahiki808 they were turning around because the part of the bridge they were on could've collapsed too!!...what is there to do to help at that point other than calling the police. It's not easy to go down there since the bottom is too far...the survivors at the bottom were the ones who were able to atleast help the injured.

  • @kalahiki808

What right do you have to criticize them when you weren't even in their shoes? What were they supposed to do, kill them selves by driving over the bridge to join everyone else? They have people who are trained to deal with situations like these. You don't sound like a very good "Good Samaritan" you sound like a jerk.

  • @ihopeucare exactly

Would it be expected to put a 7 month old baby at risk to save people who MAY HAVE been scumbag assholes like 75% of the people "out there"? hahaha watever

    It was their time.

  • at first i was like :-| then wen the cam turned i was like D:<

  • Anybody get killed?

  • @G0FlyAKite1 yeah...an entire bridge collapsed with people on it

  • @travisimoto

    Oh yeah. I forgot.

  • Does it make anyone else mad that the freakin camera was pointing in the other direction? I mean seriously?

  • @XDNightmare Wow fucking random but fuck you too bitch i don't need to get a comment saying no one gives a shit when it was a big deal. Fucking lame ass.

  • @Azulx612 XDNightmare=helmet wearing, window licking, retard!!! don't argue with them it is a waste of time. might as well argue with a rock.

  • A message to the DOT, fuck you and your cameras! Stop spying on us! We resent it!

  • "caught on cam" more like and hour late to the party

  • I live in the Twin Cities. Right after this happened, I had to get somewhere by going over a bridge much like this one. I was terrified... lol

  • It was a disaster waiting to happen. This bridge should not had been open. The bridge showed the signs that it was unsafe, but some dumb-ass city officials, whoever is responsible, did nothing. The blood of the victims is on their hands.

  • We saw it but no one was harmed in our familly.

  • @Drumkid150 umm no.. i live in southern wisconsin.. i ravid packers fan.. and your "best qb" wasnt so good when he threw the game tying interception last year in the superbowl.. Brett sucks now he was better with the packers.. He will prolly retire for another 2 weeks and leave you guys for the fucking bears.

Vikings suck, they always lost to the packers, always will. and the white house is in maryland smartass, no where near vermont

  • @AirRaider56 R u seriously that retarted? U turned a bridge collapse in2 a football argument and then called a viking fan retarted when ur saying the white house is in Maryland? U r the biggest retard ever!!! The white house is in virginia MORON!! But i guess packer fans r the most retarded pieces of garbage on earth. Seriously though on behalf of viking fans and America shoot yourself retard!! And by the way packers SUCK!!!!!!!

  • @AGEOFTHOEMKE umm well moron the white house is not in a state. there are no states involved. it is located in the district of columbia

  • @footballfamily51 Which is in what state fag Virginia?

  • @AGEOFTHOEMKE holy crap your freaking retarded dude its not in a state. it is it's own thing and it has its own laws. look it up!!

  • @footballfamily51THAT'S RIGHT!!! The White House address is 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW Washington, DC 20500-0004!!! And Washington D.C is not in Maryland its known as the District of Columbia. They all need to go back to elementary school and learn about our country's geography!!!! damnnnn no wonder the rest of the world thinks we're retarded!!!

  • @AGEOFTHOEMKE the white house is in washington d.c. which is in maryland stupid go ask your 5th grade teacher..

  • @AirRaider56 Seriously shoot yourself dude its in Virginia maybe if Wisconsin had an educational system there maybe u dumb fag packer fans might know something.

  • @AGEOFTHOEMKE oh yea and you too, you are second runner up for the extra special retard award

  • @AirRaider56 and you my friend get the extra SPECIAL retard award

  • And POOF! Where da bridge go?

  • ugh after this happend i hated going through st louis id scream

  • poor people didnt see that coming people just driving to there friends and familys house or work and BOOM your died its sad really sad

  • Holy! I remember this two years ago. My family and all My friends and cousins were on a bus going to the valley fair that time. They all crossed the bridge like ten minutes before the damn thing collapsed. A luckey break! I could of lost everyone. lmao My little brother is here and says Hey thats the bridge that fell down lol. I heard people saw Mothman ? lmao myth!

  • Thats what you get when you hire illegal alien construction workers. Cheap labor, cheap work. Seriously though....shiiiit.... when did this happen? I dont remember hearing anything about this? Whats the story on the cause?

  • you need to pay attention to whats going on in the word..for real..how does something like this happen and you dont even hear about it? fricken douche bag

  • @ADHABAH u fkn stupid ignorant, the bridge was an old bridge built long back by Americans, not by illegal aliens u stupid fuck.

  • @dendro1717 It was a joke. Relax.

  • @dendro1717 yah no kidding dude, chill out, internet tuff guy over here look out now

  • How many died?

  • i was the last of three cars headed wesbound that day and was on the frikin news that night and have my own video of that day........

  • @checkthisout67 you couldnt make it sound more like your lieing....

  • Flame me for saying, gas taxes are way too low.. If the US did like some countries and put a $5 a gallon tax then there should be funds to maintian roads... When gas was $4. a gallon people still drove and will drive if gas is $8 a gallon.

Also, for every less car the road last longer... Think of that next time you see a bicyclist.... Bicyclists pay more per mile/damage then cars.... Food for thought. Bicylists have jobs too..

    Can't have it all....

  • @cyclenut here comes the flames! just kidding, but I still can't imagine a 5$ a gal tax on gas, especially for thoes who commute far for a job, that sounds expensive. But you do have a point, we gotta pay up for the things we use everyday. Especially since were in a trillion dollar debt...

  • @cyclenut

We got plenty of money for our roads. The government just blows it to hell with idiot projects like bridge to nowhere.

  • Bushes fault. *sarcasm

  • I remember being in Chicago when this happened and all of a sudden I see it on the news and my friend texted me saying she was somewhere in that traffic but was going the other way and made it past. I guess there's still missing people. And also @LegalizePsychedelics bridges in minnesota are extrememly safe so no one really knows why it would do that. I went down there a few months ago to lay flowers by the site and it was so eerie.

  • @Azulx612 fuck Your chicago story lol.

  • my mom was on, and got off the bridge 2-4 minutes after it collapse. she was lucky. but i feel sad for the people who died in it. :(

  • There is a bridge in Rhode Island where there are State Troopers stationed to make sure 18 wheeler trucks don't go over it. There is a detour through a city for the trucks. If they go over the bridge it is a 3k fine. This bridge is on a MAJOR interstate (Rt. 95) and it can't handle the weight of the trucks. The weight would stress the bridge. We need to fix it. It's crazy to have this going on in the USA! Why are we giving money away to foreign countries, while our bridges are falling apart!!!

  • @yogeedogee The Blackstone River Bridge. Yes Troppers are there. I try to avoid that bridge anyway.

  • @Fanik8 I looked into it and found that it is called the "Pawtucket River Bridge." They plan to totally rebuild it starting in 2010 (about time!). I got this info from Rhode Island's DOT website.

  • @yogeedogee that's true but the Blackstone runs under it

  • @Fanik8 You're right. I guess the Blackstone River has many bridges going over it.

  • Its scary how those people went home thinking if they left 30 seconds earlier, it would have been them.

  • @Fran616 thats a scary thought

  • Did somebody got killed in the incident ???

  • jesus 3 years! wow thats when i lived in Lexington

  • its been 3 years already? it felt like it was yesterday...

  • at 0:42 I can just imagine that one driver listening to loud music and having a great time not even realizing he escaped death by mere seconds

  • Wow.. All the peoples in the cars is like: Holy Shit, I'm getting off this bridge!

  • Its called cutting corners.

  • you wanna know why it fell. a piece of bird crap fell ang broke the bidge. minesota need to keep their bridges in better condition

  • Cocksuckin' dick lick! It'll also happen to the Stillwater lift bridge sooner or later!!!

  • @revueguy I agree 100%. Maybe the only good thing is that is not as high of a bridge. Hell a few friends of mine jumped off that bridge no problem.

  • The state is suing the company that build the bridge back in 1965, and the company who was doing repairs on the bridge when it collapsed. And while the state is suing them, the two companies are allowed to bid on and do work on other bridge projects around the state. The state is blaming them, and yet allowing them to build roads and do bridge repair toady.... even when lawsuits are still pending....!.... wow ! Minnesota politics....is insane..!

  • Minnesota is run by asshole politicians who approve 10 billion dollars to fund a kiddy train ride between Mpls and St.Paul, and for 17 years ignore report after report that this bridge needed to be replaced, that with the failure of any "one" thing, it could bring down the whole bridge...! Sad how politicians are voted in to look after things, and end up killing the people who put them in office...!! Fucking jerks...!!!

  • @Adatoode Agreed. Although because of the 35w bridge, they are Now replacing the 52 "lafayette" bridge. Which was stated Worse than the old 35w bridge. I live close to the 52 bridge and the neighborhood is stating that they will close and distory the bridge around 2011. Which all traffic as to merge onto a Semi-busy Robert Street and side street Oakdale Ave. But good is going to come out of this.

  • @joe24chevy - so what is your point..... or are you just desperate for someone write back to you to ask you what your point is...? I already knew about the Lafayette bridge.... so what...what's that got to do with the price of eggs...?

  • @Adatoode What?...I never said anythiing about Eggs. I just stated a point. Not wanted people to write back. I didn't care if anyone did. Just showing the difference between the two bridges.

  • @Adatoode and you're probably one of the biggest retards that keeps voting the same politicians right back into office term after term....just like everywhere else.....

  • @Druggs06360 - Wrong again DEFECT...! Try again...LMAO !!!

  • Wow, I bet that bridge nearly collapsed

  • i was on this bridge the day it collapsed about 5 minutes before it actually collapsed.

  • i feel sad for the people that fell with the brige fuck those lazy ass construction workers am i right :(

    >:(

  • Everyone says FUCK THAT and turns around. LOL.

  • Hey I live close to Minneapolis!!!!!! i saw it on the news

  • did some die in this collapse? I bet that the company who built it got jailtime for 24325345 years or so

  • it annoys me how the edge where it collapsed is cleanly cut. like someone took a knife and just sliced it off

  • is make in china or make in USA??

  • man i remember dissss :p sum scary stuff

  • I love the way the cars just turn round as if to say "I saw nothing! I was never here!" and then piss off.

  • @sleeming88 i agree why don't they get out and try to help?

  • boggest hole eva!!!!!

  • I am not exactly which sides said what but they wanted to shut the bridge down to do repairs and somone said no that it would be to big of problem to shut down a major bridge. Maybe next time they will listen.

  • My brother Makus Bott had been tortured during five and a half years by the German BND which is the renamed GESTAPO. He was assassinated on July 11th 2009 because of our homepage linked on my channel.

    Martin Bott

  • I live in Minneapolis, This was just an HORRIFIC event. Many lives were lost, alot of people were devastated, This was just awful. I remember seeing this on the news when it happened, I saw it live happening. They told everyone to turn off they're cell phones because they had to call 911 so much. God bless everyone who survived, R.I.P to all the people who died.

  • the cam oporator is like what??? and he sees that holy stuff!!

lol cant say bad words on youtube (:<

  • how high is you taxes? 19% it is in the Netherlands and the road are great but the traffic yam!

  • I remember that day... we drove on that bridge 5 minutes before it collapsed. scary thought.. O.o

  • I like how the cars are turning around... like "Darn... have to find another way now.. oh well".

I could imagine the camera operators face... "Hmm traffic jam, whats up?.... Hmm, why isn't there traffic going on the other side of the ... OH SHIT!"

  • I went over the bridge six days before it fell I came from grand forks North Dakota to watch a twins game.

  • They get out of their vehicles and run back down the bridge?

  • 1:34 damn those people didnt fall they got lucky

  • i knew someone who died in this :(

  • Structural failure!

  • I remember when I saw this on the news, and my first though: How the hell do you let a bridge get in such bad condition that it collapses? Honestly wtf?? At least in Indianapolis we don't have bridges haha

  • @LegalizePsychedelics You have a really awesome user name, haha.

  • @Silveryback and i got it like 3 months ago. i switched user names and thought I'd at least see if anybody had it and it was not taken! soo yeah it's tight haha

  • @LegalizePsychedelics

don't feel to safe. even the small bridges can fail, like freeway overpass for example.

  • ace12327 you got that right, the only one is across white river thank god

  • not funny...have some respect

  • @LegalizePsychedelics its minnesota.. home of the fucking vikings they are to lazy to get up of their asses and inspect their bridges

  • we just saw someones last moments of life...kinda tramatizing.

  • @BassPlayerQueen21 My thoughts exactly.

  • Wats mndot

  • Minnesota Department of Transportation

    (MN DOT)

  • ya thats from my mom farting

  • A month before this Pawlenty vetoed the gas tax that would go towards fixing up minneapolis roads. A month after this he surprisingly decided to pass the bill

  • Pawlenty is a friggin idiot

  • pretty amazing, i would had feeled lucky to be that last black car to pass on

  • I drive on the bridge that replaced this one every day to and from school. I'm not sure what about it cost $250 million.

  • Bridges cost alot. I think it had to do with getting the thing designed and built within one year when usually they take 2-3 years to build. Also at the time concrete and steel prices were outrages and then the cost of the fuel to get it there.

  • @danie123182 - at the time, the states politicians were being danced around like the monkeys they are by people who were lobbying for a new "baseball" stadium for a losing team! The new bridge that replaced this one cost less than the money the state put up for a freaking "ballpark"! The people who lost their lives when this bridge collapsed... to the state, their lives were of less value than a "ballpark"....! Sad...!

  • ALLAHU AKBAR!!!!

  • how many people died from that?

  • 13, fortunately believe it or not. If that bridge had fallen even further, the current of the river might have swept a ton of people away.

  • the thought of that is freakin scary!

  • Gotta' love government-funded infrastructure... NOT!

  • @basspig my thoughts exactly here look at this tragedy and see what will happen if government takes over and runs everything can u say SOCIALISM yeah yeah i know alotta of u are gonna wanna debate me and ask how does this have to do with socialism blah blah blah not interested i wanna use my internet power to make a stupid comment and disappear :)

  • @basspig

How the fuck else would it be funded? thats what taxes are for. Stupid asshole.

  • @morganpay When you lack the ability to make an intellectual argument, simply spew out a few epithets. This is the mentality that brought America to it's downfall.

FYI, taxes are only there to force people to buy stuff they would not rationally purchase. We don't need so many roads and bridges. Transportation of this level exists so that taxable incomes can increase, a benefit for the IRS. A smaller, agrarian economy would exist, without taxation, & would be arguably better for the environment.

  • @basspig noooo the reason why this country is failing is because of our economy going from an industrial society to a service based society. When we were industrialized, jobs paid better, wages were higher for the middle class (largely because of union representation), now that we are a service based society the middle class has basically disappeared. There are now only two classes rich and poor, this is how the rich wanted it they put in place politicians who lobbied for their interests.......
