  • My mum would give you a proper ear-bollicking about the state of your oven. In fact if I tell her about it she would probably want to come over and give it clean herself.

  • @TheSecondFoundation just try the recipe in your nice clean oven then.

  • @TheSecondFoundation Actually my oven is dirty, my mums coming round Sunday to clean it.

  • MAN I THINK YOU NEED TO CLEAN YOUR OVEN!

  • @yusufmehmet188 sandblasting might work.

  • @2ndviolin lmao

  • Just enjoyed your toad-in-the-hole. FANTASTIC was able to use left-over sausage and onion gravy, from yesterdays sausage and mash meal! Thanks

  • "Waste not, want not" as the saying goes. :)

  • it's BURNT!

  • No, just crunchy! It's difficult to get the interior cooked without drying out (& burning) the surface.

  • That hat is fuckin creepy

  • Better the hat than the person wearing it!

  • Well that's tonights tea sorted. :o) Think i'll have it with mash, veggies n gravy mmmm. Thanks for sharing this recipe, very impressive.

  • Glad to be of service. :)

  • My toads all floated to the top of the hole, or the sausages floated on the batter. It was nice though. Any suggestions in order for my toads not to float ?

  • Hmm, did you put your aleady-fried sausages into the preheated dish first, THEN poured the thick batter over them? Is your dish small diameter enough to ensure that the sausages are (almost) completely submerged in the batter at this point? In any case, floating sausages are nothing to be ashamed of. ;)

  • Nice vid ! Toad in the hole is one of my favs. Saturday night, toad in the hole, chips and gravy !

  • Thanks. You're clearly a man of good taste, but don't forget to eat some nice healthy vegetables too. ;)

  • You also need claening your oven. :-)

  • Sandblasting, it's the only way.

  • Good vid, I shall be eating toad in the hole tonight, proper english and rustic

  • ooooo, aaaarrr!

  • A toad in a chef's hat...lol

  • Croak!

  • loved the scientific interlude, thanks that was good.

  • Science you can eat. It doesn't get better than that!

  • Toad in the hole is supposed to be like a brick. It's a stodgy British recipe. A pudding if you like. Sure enough it should rise and crisp at the edges but it should be heafy & stodgy in the middle where the sausages are nested.

Very good video tho. Most enjoyable.

  • Yup, justa likea our school cook used to make! Thanks for watching.

  • clean your oven mate - dirty man

  • I've tried everything mate, but nothing works. :(

  • Is it your Recapie Its Very Good!

  • No, it's a traditional english recipe. I just tweaked the amounts of ingredients, and the cooking conditions, until I got reliably good results.
