Yes sure. Here is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. (Christina Aguilera - The Voice Within) Listen how easy she opens her voice when she wants ( when she sounds like she sings opera) and goes back to normal (talking voice). Try to simulate that opera sound. Just be careful and don't overload your vocal cords. Let me know how that works for you. And remember that this is psychological barrier (not be able to fully open your voice) relax and enjoy singing loud, and you will get it
Few years, that's good. You know, you are very close to unlocking your full and open voice. There is a psychological barrier that kind of limits you, because you feel like you are screaming and it's just doesn't sound good. Try to sing loud at your full capacity (similar to opera) just as an exercise no more than 15 mins a day, every day. This will expend your dynamic range and at some point a miracle will happen, your voice will become limitless. Usually takes few weeks, or few days for some.

@famerepublic I've been singing for a few years.. Only taken lessons for a few months. I just like making covers for myself but figured why not post them. Thank you so much though! I feel like if I sing too loud I'm screaming.. Ha! It sucks because I have a crappy webcam
