  • This is what old people think is funny.

  • the first half of the plane is American Airlines and the second half is Southwest.

  • GREAT PITY ABOUT THE ENGLISH

  • This never gets stale!!

  • this could be delta but carol burnett is too skinny...lmao

  • She forgot to say thank You for flying WestJet

  • LOL. Too funny. I'm surprised Harvey Korman didn't break out laughing at Tim Conway. He could never keep a straight face when he was doing a skit with him, because Tim Conway makes you laugh.

  • I've watched this several times and it NEVER fails to leave me ROTFLMAO! I'm so glad I was raised on this stuff. Good, clean fun!

  • I wish we had comic actors like this now.

  • =D.. every person in the first class seats on a train got offered tea then the attendant looked at me like i was utter scum.. you people disgust me... sitting there in standard class...

  • Harvey R.I.P. you were great.

  • Where did the other people in front of Harvey go?

  • its just too funny!!! :-)

  • I remember watching this show on Sat.nights when i was 7 years old...

    Its a CLASSIC!

  • Great, Clean humour. Made my day

  • Gotta love the 70's...Harvey Kormans tray comes with a bottle of booze!

  • How funny....I do recall a time when EVERYONE got a meal on a flight...may not have been much..but it was a meal...now youre lucky if you even get a bag of peanuts (with 10 peanuts in it..haha)

  • This remains me of how Airlines run today. NO-Frills. We pay for our food on board, we pay for our luggage and head phones. They were ahead of the times.

  • I will open the door and kick her out of the plane...

  • Not Rowen Martin, Harvey Korman.

  • Answer to "RyeBai" the Carol Burnett Show. Rowen Martin. Tim Conway. Carol Burnett. Beats the heck out of current sarcasm and deviant behavior and sad portrayal of our cultural demise.

  • This looks more prophetic than comedic.

  • HELLO

  • 46 people lack a sense of humor.

  • I would have knocked her out after the turbulence mess.

  • Still better than Ryanair!

  • "Get your foot off of our rug!"

  • Lol 2 funny

  • Trust me on this 1

    It's very clever

    He flipped forward!!?

I have no idea about this show or the actors.

    The woman, tho, looks familiar.

Reminds me of an over energetic aerobics dancer in purple.

Anybody, please help me complete this reference.

  • If only comedy was like that still. What a hoot. Laughed through the hole thing. Still laughing.

  • @Silaevl hi! is it d same play by dory kaiser???

  • Any similarities with today's airlines is purely coincidental.

  • @waarce So true; so very true. Eerily, and hilariously, prophetic.

  • lol.....only Tims seat gets turbulance !

  • i remember this sketch been along time since i saw it i probably would have sued the airline though

  • @daved1974 Back then no but today yes....lawsuit in a minute.

  • Classic

  • This is so much like traveling military Space "A" (Space Available). MIlitary hops for active duty personnel, their families, DoD civilians and retirees (me!). Funny!

  • Oh man I'd be so pissed off by that attendant, it's so funny xD

  • ROTFL!! I bust a gut laughing every time I see that seat jumping up and down!

  • I was the best thing on TB back then, and it's probably still the best thing. Nothing but a good, clean laugh.

  • @fireflyrocks1 I wish the major networks would put this back on prime time again. I'd watch it, and I'd support the advertisers also.

  • @fireflyrocks1 Glad to hear your TB is going well.

  • Take a look at the windows in Tim's section, just too funny! It's amazing that the writers could come up with so many great jokes and skits each and every week.

  • hilarious after 5:00

  • Where did the two people in from of Harvey go?!? :D

  • I think I would pay the extra 40 bucks

  • Oh, my goodness...Carol Burnett, Harvey Korman, and Tim Conway. I miss them so much. This was one of the funniest & best comedy shows, EVER. None of these comedians can ever be replaced.

  • i preformed this skit and the funeral in my 8th grade drama class!!!! i was the stuwardess so fun :)

  • I remember seeing this when it was first broadcast, and it was wonderful to see it again. All the cast members on this show were superb. Thanks for posting this.

  • i lost it when he went back in his seat

  • The stuff they used to allow on the planes before 9/11...now they aren't allowing you to bring water bottles on the airlines now! ~sigh~ what has this world come to?

  • they used to play reruns on tv in the morning when i was younger. i would watch it in the morning before school. good times =)

  • 42 people are in the no frills section

  • LOL! I remember when this was first telecast. I never missed a Carol Burnett Show in those days. It was the only t.v. show that could get me to sit still long enough to watch t.v. And then, I was falling off the furniture laughing! LOL I wonder if those who fly on a "frequent flyer miles" ticket get this type of treatment these days! ha ha

  • @olga2415 I was a kid during this era. Great clean humor. These three had some rare chemistry that helped them gain such wide acclaim. Great share!!! Think TSA would allow him to pack his own lunch? LOL!

  • fantastic show! i was a kid in the seventies and my mom and i used to watch this all th time! i really miss it a lot!

  • I liked this!

Such a funny sketch!! I love Carol Burnett, i loved how she was so rude in this sketch! So funny :-)

  • I think today they call this sketch "Airtran"

  • Why is Nora Desmond sitting in the back shouldn't she be in the first class section?

  • What happened to the passengers in the front row?

  • I only prefer watching old movies with Tim Conway because he's so funny!! Such as: The Apple Dumpling Gang, The Shaggy D.A., This Show, and the DVD you get at Cracker Barrel of him... ahh.. I'm 15 by the way.

  • Still hilarious, this many years later! :-D

  • Really funny stuff!

  • I think I flew on this airline last month, except the whole plane was the no-frill section.

  • thank you for posting this video. it brightened up my day and many others!

  • I would of liked it better if she gave him a parachute as well

and she yelled out BOMBS AWAY! OR HAPPY LANDING!

    towards the end.

  • Marianne's headed for California in June...I got her a real deal on a no-frills flight with Carol and friends.

  • It's like flying on Jet Blue

  • It's like flying on JetBlue

  • FUNNY

  • this was great, better than the trash of today.

  • "Oh! .. Uh, you better watch it, the rug ends right there."

"It's a lot safer back here. Have you ever heard of an airplane backing into a mountain?"

  • genius - and they spoofed this YEARS before all came true

  • so this is where ryanair got its business plan

  • How do the other actors keep it together? This is funny.

  • When Tim Conway's seat started bouncing up and down, I lost it man.....LOL

  • Excellent!

  • The look on Tim's face is just too funny!

  • Smoking on an airplane... God this is old!

  • Tim Conway is a class act...always naturally funny.

  • This just how we fly now!

  • 40 people sat in the No Frills Section.

  • That's Hedley Lamarr!

  • You are right...Tim is a great comedian

  • "You ever hear of an airplane backing into a mountain?" hahahaha I lost it on that one. There aren't comedians like Tim Conway anymore.

  • @MrWesdotcom That was a clever line! OMG...This sketch is priceless and I barely remember seeing it. The whispered emergency details were classic...and rope.

  • @TheUserLady Yeah, I'm going on an airplane on Friday, and I'm gonna remember that line! lol

  • God I wish I had the gumption to be that rude to people

  • "I'm not telling you again, I'm up to here with you...." spoken like a true Northwest Airlines attendant!!!

  • Wow. I wish flying Northwest was actually this fun. The airlines today treat you like crap.

  • so classic. :)

  • Favourite part is "Would you like to hear some music?" "Oh yes I would." "Off we goooooo into the wiiiiild..." I lol-ed major at that part the first time I saw it :P

  • Carol looked nothing like Sigourney.

  • Skystar 1985 to London

  • Ha!ha!ha!,..one of the very best Carol Burnett show I ever seen. Can help thinking myself traveling in no frills airline? Think I will prepare using train or driving. Many thanks for sharing /posting this beautiful video,..I like it !

  • The Carol Burnett was one of the funniest shows back then and she had the best cast, Tim Conway was an absolute nut. Its a shame, it seems like all the best gags have been done, no creativity left.

  • Thank you for posting this, one of the best TV shows ever.

  • She is still one of the funniest, most irreverent comedians of all time! And she had a great ensemble cast (Korman and Conway were both terrific). This sketch competes with anything SNL or MAD TV can produce!

  • Not one fart, burp, degrading of the sexes, mention of weight or dirty joke...and what do you know, it's still funny! Miss this show...

  • @Mandi7882, It’s “still” funny without those things? Show me something on SNL or Comedy Central that’s even REMOTELY this funny even WITH those things!

And this isn’t even close to the funniest thing on the Carol Burnett Show. The dress scene from “Went With the Wind” (parody of “Gone With the Wind”) is arguably the funniest scene in all of television history. See also Tim Conway (back when he was just a guest on the show) in the Dentist skit with Harvey Korman.

  • @COMALiteJ - Thanks so much!! Ya know, I grew up with this show so I know almost every skit, every guest, every dance Number and Peter Matz orchestration backwards and forwards. When they mention the 'golden age of television' the 70's variety programs usually do not qualify. This was more than that to me, and more than qualifies. And as far as SNL, nothing beats the 1975-1978 seasons to me; subsequent seasons are PALE in comparison even though from 1980-1995 there were a few glimmers of hope.

  • @Mandi7882 You're absolutely right!!! These were the days of zero filth, yet one falls off their seat laughing,

and wanting more...As they say, these were the days!!!

  • @Mandi7882 Agreed

  • RIP Harvey Korman.

  • I'd just pay the extra 40 dollers! lolroflmao! I love Carol Burnett! :D

  • Loved it then, Love it now!!

  • Damn, but I keep coming back to watch this because this is soooo funny! Note at the end when Harvey helpfully hands Tim his jacket, but instead Tim grabs the rope instead knowing full well that the rope will be much more funnier.

  • watch the MAKE SOME PANTS video

  • wayyyy better than the mad tv skit!

  • Comedy when comedy was really good!

  • thank god for youtube or I would never see any good TV

  • Im glad youtube exists

  • @TheDrjman1 It's a treasure

  • They were predicting the future of air travel... :)

  • :)

This guy flies first class too: youtube.com/watch?v=SiszV5qAM5g

  • This is 500 million times better than any 'comedy' shows made now!!

  • Quality television, the like of which we'll never see again. This is a great skit, like all the skits on Carol's show...lots of laughs and no filth.

  • This airline is alive and well: travelling on Jet Star with a severely and intellectually disabled family member early 2009 I arrived back in Melbourne to find the wheelchair pulled apart & bits all over the carousel. I struggled to manage my son and our luggage to walk all over the place trying to get his wheelchair pieces and put them together. When I asked JetStar staff member whose role it is to assist I was told to not 'expect any further help' because they were a 'cut price airline.

  • Hey!...........that's Spirit Airlines! The Aeroflot of the West!

  • how can anyone dislike?! BEST!

  • There's an airline that would never get my business! You notice only 4 people were on the plane.

  • @ahoystella It might not have been funny just a few years following cancellation, but 40 years later, this is the golden era.

  • @OmicronXI They didn't deviate too far from the truth with this skit.

  • @louiswendt The worst of it now is that they don't even accept cash for snack or beverage purchases;it's all on a credit card basis. You'd think cash waould be faster, wouldn't you?Not only that, but not everybody has or can obtain a credit card easily.

  • @XxAngelKizzesXx Which is why all these comedians and comediennes on this program never had to resort to using foul language and repeated sex references.

  • Is it my imagination or does this sketch remind you of the Wayne And Shuster plane skit?By the way,for those of you who aren't Canadian,Wayne & Shuster's came first.

  • My GOD, I miss this show so much.

  • Funny as this is, it couldn't have been very different traveling in third class on 19th century ships.

  • Love her hat.

  • This is even funnier today with current state of the airline industry.

  • Carol Burnett was a very comical person and I loved her, even as a kid. As a flight attendant, I love the old-style 707/727-style door! Tim Conway definitely added to this brand of humor!

  • Ha!ha!ha!,...very funny! The best carol Burnett show. I like it and can not help but repeatedly watching this beautiful video. Thanks for sharing/posting.

  • They had some great skits. But I was 10 when I thought it was funny. Now, eh, not so much. At least not this one.

  • When his seat started hopping up and down I laughed so hard I was hurting....lol.

  • Love anything with these 3!

  • Had a GREAT laugh watching this clip

  • Oh my. I laughed so hard. Awesome!!!

  • poor tim :(

  • If only airlines were this good now! LOL!

  • This used to be the highlight of my life. Thank Goodness for Youtube and Uploaders. I have tears running down my face.

  • 5:03 lol so funny i stated cryin and 6:57 omg

  • 5:03 lol so funny i stated cryin

  • Cheryl Howie: I hope this blog cheers you up a bit! Enjoy!

With Love In Christ from your past Admirer! Aren Groen xo!

  • so funny

  • This is even more appropriate today!

  • Hilarious!! Carol is a classic comedian :)

  • would you like to hear some music?

"OFF WE GO~ INTO THE WILD~"

  • 4:07 Died Laughing

  • that was hilarious :)

  • This is way much funnier than anything SNL is doing right now. This is a sketch with actual comical writing which stems from skill and knowledge of humor outside of poop, sex and violence jokes.

  • aaaaahahahahaha! bahahaha! aaaaaaah... how do they not laugh all the time?!

  • He gets treated like Negro lol

  • OMG I actually remember this skit I had to have been 6 or 7 at the time. TV was so good back then and Carol and her troupe were the best :D

  • i love this show

  • OH BOY!! I sure do miss them!!!!!!!!

  • You never see SNL doing good quality skits. The carol Burnett show is Epic!!! Thanks for posting :)

  • @rocknroller1986 I haven't watched SNL in such a long time,so I don't know.They're still producing stars,however.

  • @rocknroller1986 What is "SNL"?

  • Why can't we still have this WONDERFUL MAGIC??? V E R Y funny!!!! Send more.

  • Classic!! I love it!!

  • The joys of physical comedy.
