  • ha "You might wanna get on your moma's stereo system 2 listen 2 this 1" hahaha classic lol

  • Can someone please tell me why do so many producers have multiple keyboards that aren't synthesizers?

  • @RizzoAstronama It's all about sounds. Newer sounds. That's it.

  • What's the model and who's the manufacturer of that desk?

  • @TheExplodingBit No clue. Got it from Guitar Center about 5 years ago.

  • I stumbled across your posts and I am so glad. I've been producing for awhile but I'm in the Gospel/Conscious Hip-Hop arena. I have more tracks than artist (and I know you know why) the techniques you talk about are very informative and I wanted to say thanks. Take care potna.

  • @eclipzz214 My pleasure, thank you!

  • dope shit.....very knowledgeable in what you do and it helps me out alot...

  • DAT TRACK IS SWEET YO

  • @bigdaddydjdef Thanx!

  • Man this track is hot, thats whats up,

  • ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! This is standard beat making !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @rpm1972 LOL...Idiot, this track was made 4 years ago! It was the sound at the time!

And that crap on your page sounds like a BAD FRUITY LOOPS DEMO!

    lol...you gotta be joking.

  • @jtrouptv If my stuff sounds like demos ! It must be good ! I use a mac pro so the Fruity Loops thing would be impossible ! It only Runs on PC ! Thats must be what you run !!!!!

  • @jtrouptv DAMMMMMM u right this shit sucks hhaahaha

  • @perffessior lol. Dude, this beat was made 3-4 years ago. And it's still hotter than anything u can make.

  • @jtrouptv wtf i dont eve remember sendin that 2 u man shit nigga my bad

  • @jtrouptv ay man i was meanin that rmp1972 shit sucks not urs homie ayight

  • I hope you got that deal you were talking about. U deserve it. One love, man.

  • Man, i really appreciate that. i will be checking u out from time to time because I learnt alot. Thanks once again.

  • thanks for the video! just wondering with layering your 808's what advice do you have for picking an original kick that doesnt clash with the 808 you put on top of it? that seems to be my biggest problem. sometimes the 808 sounds great...other times terrible! should i be able to make it work with any kick? thanks!

  • @edb926 pull it thru a LFO and some filters. onmost always that will help

  • @edb926 Gotta EQ. The frequency of the kick can't get in the way of the frequency of the 808, otherwise, you get mud.

  • man i haven't made a beat in a week.

this is a tight beat man

  • I appreciate you making this video. I still at the tip of the iceberg, and your comments were helpful. I'll be checking you out on Sundays. Thanks you for your help.

    D.T.

  • very helpful video!!

  • You can find them on my website... Industry Sound (dot) com. All the beats, drum kits, and vocals are just .99 cents!! They aren't just re-hashes of old drum kits, they are all custom layered and EQ'ed, by me. IndustrySound (dot) com

  • Comment removed

  • They are $1...you don't have ONE DOLLAR??

And there are some free ones on the page as well. But if you want the drums I used in that track, they are for sale...for ONE DOLLAR.

Hopefully that's not too much for most people to pay...considering they have computers and music production software and all.

  • Getting a paypal account is free. All you need is a bank account.

If you don't have a bank account, then go to the bank and open one up. It's free. And at 16, it's a good idea to start building some financial history.

  • Check out the Wobble video. I made that beat with my Miko.

Plus there are PLENTY of videos with my miko on IndustrySound(dot)com. They are free to watch. Just check them out in the video section.

We have live broadcasts all the time too, where you can see the Miko in action!

  • stop it man! this should be taught, in paid class room setting, lol. My homy from upstairs was just like you, getting that theory down an spoon feeding me lessons... ya'll niggas fuck people up man, that night I produced shit for 8 hours...lol, keep it movin', many people will live these lessons you droppin!

  • Hey man, it's all about each one teach one. If we pass along the knowledge, then that'll just make all music better.

Producers be scared that they gon teach somebody something and the next man gon be better than them, or get more money than them.

I don't play that game. I teach people how to make hot music on my website, IndustrySound(dot)com. You should check it out!

  • I'm the same way. I show my producer click any and everything I know. About 3 of us, and we always build like you just showed us. Really though, just 'cause you droppin these gems don't mean we'll be able to make the music you make... it's all about the individual. That's why I appreciate these tutorial vids. I use your wisdom in a whole different way, an upload my own shit, an you can learn somthing new. I'll check the site, no doubt...

  • And that's what it's about. I show somebody how to do something, they take it and flip it in a crazy way, and then I end up learning something new from them!

It's all about sharing the knowledge so that people don't have any excuse for making wack music!!

  • LoL, You took my name lol jk. You made it first. P.S. nice name for the company or whatever

  • lol...I was about to say, only way I took your name is if you were using it prior to 2004! Cuz that's when I registered it!

I see you halo'ing! Love that game!

  • Sick beat man and great tutorial/beat vid! Loved the shit about the frequency levels being covered. I just got a question relating to placements...how did you build a relationship/get into contact with A&R's?

  • Thanx!

Oh, and the A&R's? I called them!

Plus, just going to places where they are....conferences, record labels up in NYC, etc.

  • thanks man big help

  • you gotta pay for that ... there are plenty a & r companies itching to rob you blind and take your money without giving you a dime... you will need to hit up producer conferences and rappers conferences to build a personal relationship with specific a r's ... if you can afford it !!! Those joints are expensive. I hope that this helps. Peace

  • 1st off much respect for your skill level, but IMO,you shouldn't give the game away because just think of what you had to go through to attain your knowledge. Thats the problem with younger producers, they think Fruity Loops and having to wait 20 mins is paying dues. That only leads to weaker music.

  • Nah...I had to go thru alot to attain my knowledge, you're right. But the way I think we make music better, is to TEACH people how to make better music.

I'm more than happy to share the knowledge, if it helps other people make better music. Cuz better music helps us all.

  • Wow, how do you trigger 5 samples of claps with one key..

  • coulda used combinator, but it woulda been alot of work.

create combinator then make a mixer in there, then put the instruments in.(Reason)

  • Troup sooon!

  • You Talk So Logically The Smartest Producer I've Found

  • nice track that should make the album if not then the lable is crazy

  • artists need to make more videos like this!

  • NICE WORK

  • Nice video. I really liked it. One of the producers I work with is a major Reason-head. I like the thought process and your willingness to share that..Peace JATWORLD

  • Like this guys style... hes not an asshole.. u have a cool studi and nice beats, you could make it to the top because u have an aditude for success

  • Love your studio and your work flow, but why do you mix it down in Cubase instead of Reason ?is it because the quality of Cubase? of you just like it more to mix your project in ?

Thanks allot and keep them videos coming!

  • The reason why anyone should mix in cubase, pro tools or logic pro is because you have more plugins to work with, they sound more realistic, the EQs sound much better, and gates and compressors are so much better in pro tools, logic and cubase. Oh yeah, the channels peak easily in reason.

  • Do you export all tracks separate in a .wav file and than import that in Cubase, or do you use Rewire. Because i see waveform instead of midi-data. Thank you for your quick replay! Nice!

  • I wouldn't bother with no Rewire business. Just bounce down all your stems to wav and then import them to cubase so you can master it all up and process.

  • Maaaaan, youre so great. That ist the Best "Making a Beat" video ive ever seen here by far!!! Really helped me a lot!!! Very motivating also!!!

Thx you and greetz from Germany

  • Danke!

Ich spreche ein bischen Deutch auch! Es freue mich das du hat etwas von meine videos gelernt!

Ich hoffe ich habe das richtig gesagt!

  • great video J.

  • sweet tunes bro.

and thnx for the quick response.

    easy

    culture

  • nice review..

what kind of Desk are you using? would work well with my setup. what is the name of the model, brand or site that u got it off of. thnx

    keep up those tunes

    culture

  • I'm not sure what kind of desk it is. I got it from Guitar Center for about $700 in 2003.

  • I need some connects. Did you get yours through pmp. I thought about getting down with them.

  • What kinda monitors are those next to the KRK's...???

  • JBL LSR 4328's

  • yh man hopefully u will make it, ur stuff is da bomb;)

  • wat speaker you got fo

  • The small ones are KRK V4's and the big ones are JBL LSR 4328's

  • Good video... you explain your thought process well... keep it up...

  • Nice beat, I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

  • thank you!

  • hey where do u get all your drums from

  • EVERYWHERE! But I custom make my drums from my standard kits.

  • i mean like the timbaland neptunes alchemist dr dre just blaze etc can u please give me the names of shops thanks nice beat hope it makes it

  • all of the above. But I don't use those stock, I custom make mine.

  • ..much respect from da East German Hood!!Spawn

  • luv the video the best vid i seen her on youtube on beatmaking

  • Thx, appreciate that!!

  • great videos. FP'er here new to your youtube page. keep at it. when are you uppin some new shit?

  • good videos...have you studied music theory or something?...when are you going to post a new video?

  • I haven't studied music "theory" in the sense of taking a music theory class or anything. But I grew up playing a few different instruments, and being a trained classical singer, so that's part of what helped my ear develop. And I just posted a new video!!

  • I also notice that you have two computer screens so I was wondering if you use both cubase and reason separately or do you just have reason rewired into cubase?

  • Rewire. The 2 screens are just to have more desktop space.

  • I see, so do you have the two computer screens connected together some kind of way so they interact with one another? thanks for your patience.

  • Video card with 2 outputs. They are common.

  • Quick question....i noticed you have flat screens....do you get any radio frequency in your speakers cause of the flat screens...I did when i had just one...so i was wondering if there was a special brand that did not interfere with speakers

  • I don't get any radio frequencies in my speakers. It coulda been your cell phone interfering with your monitors. My iPhone does it all the time.

But the screens are regular Dell 17" screens...nothing fancy.

  • Yea i know you can get that from a cell phone too...but it was coming from the screen cause i would hear this high picthed buzzing noise...then when i turn of the screen it would go away....and i had a dell flat screen too

  • Much respect for explaining your work process. Not a lot of producers share their process on making a track. I hope you do get the spot.

  • Thanx. I got more videos coming in the next few weeks. I'm getting an Open Labs Miko computer musical instrument, so I wanna show everybody exactly how it's going to change the game

  • Im also thinking of getting one, can't wait to see your vids using it. Subscribed...

  • ever cop that Miko? I need's a tutorial link!

  • Yes...check out my new website, IndustrySound(dot)com. All the beats are 99 cents, all drum kits are 99 cents...all came directly from the Miko!

Plus there are plenty of videos of the Miko in action in the video section!

  • dats a hard beat

  • thanx!

  • Hey I got a question, I plan on using Reason 4.0 in order to produce my music but I also want to be able to host VST's so if I rewire Reason into FL Studio would I still be able to do all me sequencing in Reason?

  • I don't know, since your vst's would be hosted by FL.

You may have to do your sequencing in FL, and use reason like a vst. That's what I do with cubase.

  • Whats sequencing like in cubase? I was thinking about getting that but I don't know much about it.

  • i been working with it from day one, so I love it. Really easy.

  • I have one last question, do you rewire Reason into cubase in order to use reason like a VST?

  • do you use cubase as host?

  • Yes. It's the host for all my vst's. I use it to do all my sequencing and recording.

  • kool i got cubase with sum dope boughted plugins plus my hardware also hooked on it to sequence ,i dont like reaosn or fl stocksounds but i do own a version of reason 4.0 with all the yamaha motiff & sonic dvd,s + every thing els reason has!you say you have drumkits,i got 40 gb of drumkits, and soundkits,if you ever need hollaa, btw i like your studio, music is great aswell, ever wanne sample??anyways ceep doing ya thing, peace from amsterdam!!!!and respect!

  • i think that is hot that you use the triton studio and you let people know what it is good for its one of my most favored sound sources and people underestimate it but its a crazy workstation... pmp is kind of expensive but i guess its guaranteed can u give me some more insight on the experience on the site be cuz im a careful investor thanx troup

  • Nothing is guaranteed. Like anything you have to spend money to make money. If $50/month is kind of expensive, then you may want to wait until you get your chips up.

  • No. But feel free to purchase them on ebay.

  • Thanks fa dat Break Down on ho wya do it.

Always nice to see ho wother brothers are doin it .

    God Bless Famz

  • Not a problem. More youtube vids on the way!

  • This shit cold!!!

  • thanx! Hopefully someone picks it up, because I really believe in this track! It's over a year old and it's still one of my favorites!

  • OHH Uh Okay

  • You Quantize?

  • all day!

  • wut kind of mic u using?? nice beat

  • Thanx! Blue Baby Bottle mic.

  • damn, this post old as hell but still, a Blue Mic? iLLLL. How's the sonics on that beast? I can't believe you'd have any problems with a voice using that mic... I'm coppin' one ASAP.

  • Yeah...still using it. If you go to IndustrySound(dot)com, and goto the store on the front page...every single song on that page was made using the Blue Baby Bottle mic. You can even buy most of the acapellas for 99 cents...

and we are even selling the VOCAL SESSIONS of the songs for 9.99...for those people who want to re-record the song, chop up the vocals, or practice their mixing techniques!

    IndustrySound(dot)com!

  • @FiLdUbz dammmmnnnn rpm aint gonna respond to dat but he can comment on someone else beats huh yeah he garbage

  • Appreciations from India. Keep up the good work and good luck.

  • Thanx, I appreciate that! I'm coming to India next year. Bangalore to be exact!

  • WOW!! That's amazing! I live in bangalore too... What you upto in India?? If you are performing plz let me know man. I want to see you and get advice from you :D :D

  • Nah, no performing. The day job has me going to bangalore. I'm a computer consultant. What's there to do in Bangalore??? I LOVE indian women and i'm trying to KICK IT!!!

  • You're right. This isnt ur typical beat making video on youtube. Its way better. Everybody makes beats, but to listen to why you do certain things, it shows that you aren't just throwing things around...it makes you more of a producer in my eyes, instead of just a beatmaker. Good video. 5 stars.

  • thanx yo...I'm gon keep em coming!

  • i really appreciate the walk through... it's not like you're putting on a show like some other people... thanks for lending the insight

  • wow, your beat vids are a lot better than Ryan Leslie/Mysto and Pizzi...you give a lot of great insight, thanks a lot

  • thanx fam, 'preciate that! Mysto & Pizzi is my peoples, and Ryan Leslie be doing his thing. Both of them are definitely inspirations to me. But i appreciate it though!!

  • PERFECT VID!!

  • Sounds great. Keep it up.
