Saiyuki is one of my Favorite anime, I don't know the origin but if they have steel the name Son Goku or the title of Monkey King, to make this beautiful anime then i think it's worth it.

actually these "bitches" stole the name from the 500 year old Chinese legend "Journey to the West". However, since it is actually based on that legend, it's not really stealing, it's just being accurate. The Goku on DBZ is a much milder adaptation of the same legendary character, Sun Wukong, or as he is known in Japan, Son Goku, the Monkey King.

yeah GENSOMADEN SAIYUKI is awesome. I emphasise the title because it is the only one worth your time. reload and gunlock are NOT worth it. trust me, Gensomaden is the one for you. and the characters origin are introduced in the anime, but the full history can only be found in the manga SAIYUKI GAIDEN. a good story but unfortunately can only be found translated on the net. manga fox.
