  • I was blessed to have a friend say cmon we'll see this Celtic band called Silly Wizard at the Barn in Riverside Ca on what was the last tour, the best..........

  • my favorite song of all time - along with If I wsa a blackbird!

  • I love this song...

  • My favorite celtic song and this is my favorite rendition, mesmerizing.

  • top tune

  • This is a truly amazing song. Nothing like it.

  • My greatest regret is that I was too young to see the lads on stage. I saw Andy on tour; also saw Phil. Both reprise at least some of their songs/tunes from Silly Wizard days, but it's not quite the same, of course. Lovely to hear the crowd cheering them.

  • Excellent performance !! Phalaïna

  • It's really a great ballad! Celtic folklor is so rich!

  • Just that THIS is not an original celtic song, but a song composed by Andy Stewart ;)

Doesn't change the fact, that it is a great song, just no real history ;)

  • awesome

  • i grew up on celtic music i can liten to it allday if i wnted but silly wizerds are asome

  • Do you seriously type like this? I can't hardly understand your illiterate text. Yes, Silly Wizard and Andy Stewart are fantastic, but give them the dignity of saying so in a fashion that is readable.

  • You, sir, are an arse hole.

  • @AsnyHaakonsdottir "can't hardly" ? Now who is the illiterate one?

  • I could sing it along for hours!

  • This song is so beautiful! Fantastic celtic tune... Totally love it!

  • been a big celtic/folk fan for years.Going to Edinburgh for my birthday night out on jan 30th.Being a motherwell boy, where are the folk music pubs in our capitol city?

  • One song I saw the do live that I can't find is "They Wounded Old Ireland". I know Andy tracked it solo, but does anyone know if SW recorded it too? I miss them.

  • This is one of the greatest bits of Celtic hyperbole in existence! You can tell the fellow fell in love while he was drunk, probably with the women pouring pints. Silly Wizard, I miss seeing you guys. Here's tae ye, Andy!

  • @MhicWombat It's my understanding he wrote this for his wife and he was drunk with love for her. But you've aptly described the occasions when I've felt singing it.

  • I saw Silly Wizard At the ROCK at Wentworth S.Yorks in the early 80s Absolutely Brilliant If you can get hold of a copy their L.P So Many Partings it is excellent but i don't know if was reprinted on a CD.

  • It's out on CD :)

  • @jonhedge Luckily, this treasure was indeed reprinted on CD. It would've been too great a loss if it wasn't.

  • Love this band, as much as my parents do

    sHoOgGy - France

  • Really like this song..I've got to get my hands on their other stuff, if it's like this :)

  • These guys were fantastic. Not enough recognition.

  • These guys are good...great Celtic tune..I like this alot!!
