I try to make a video by next week showing off my h50 overclock. system i7 860 at 4.2 (4.5 stable but the volts are too high for my liking so i leave at 4.2) evga p55 ftw corsair dominator 2x2 1600 cas 8 lian li lancool pc-k62 rosewill 1000w wb caviar black 1tb os windows 7 samsung 160 gb os snow leopard geforce 9800gtx=crap waiting for gtx 460
Hey, I just made a video of me overclocking my I-7(920) using 2 freezers...one for the north/south bridge and the other for the i-7 CPU. Could you check it out and tell me what you think. Its called "Overclocking I-7(920) using two Freezers"
@sigurd731 If i were you i would buy an i7 and later down the road add a small ssd for the opperating system and your most played online games like counterstrike or WoW
yup i was looking at that its cheap too maybe i will grab it when i start tweaking again thing is i can run at 4.2 all day on air cooling so i dont really wanna push any further my goal was 4 ghz
I just wanna OC to like 3.8, get a decent OC, and use the Corsair H50, so I don't need to worry about cleaning out dust from the fan, and keep things quiet, and cool.
I've never overclocked, but I'm gonna get the ASUS Rampage II Gene, which has some nice OC features, I wont be too upset if I can't get like 4.2 like some people (Like yourself) lol 3.8 Ghz is decent anyways. I'm not trying to break records.
Well run SP2004 stress 8x on each individual cores 0-7 run it at large at priority 9 that should give you 100 CPU load and see if it's stable. My Voltages are much higher than yours. What memory size and type do you have and at what clock
I put 12 GB and all corsair doms 1600 running around 1152 I'm still at 4 GHz running without any problem the new F5 doesn't give any problems to shut off windows as the F4
I had to it was not stable it has 12 GB RAM. I could keep it up if it's around 6 GB but not on 12 also I want to keep the CPU in higher frequencies so this was another problem. Maybe with EE I could keep it on 1600 or even 1800

What i dont understand here is how you get it from "stock" to 4 plus in one hit??
my PC will not allow that...i thought u had to go up in very small increments?

This helped loads, even though I couldn't see a thing you were doing!

You should remake that video after setting up a tripod for the camera!!! camera work kind of not so good there, and it takes up more space

You can use any air cooler that can match the TRUE 120, Mugen 2 or the Noctua NH-U12P SE 1366!

i have the 120 ultra extreme unbeatable for air cooling hell beats lots of water cooling even
chevguy502 2 years ago
the Corsair H50 is apparently better than the best high performance fan cooler.

memory speed drops down when you populate 2 dimms per channel (and further for three on systems that support)
