I like all these kids who have probably barely cleared tier 11 regular content post nerf that claims arcane is all about AB. The reason he can just spam AB is because flying through the rings gives alot of mana back. Boomkins, Spriests, locks, hunters...these are all classes with 3 abilities and a few CDs to hit every 20-30 seconds. But don't worry about any of that, you won't see the fight for another 5 months, if every.

Arcane rotation is a joke. Quit trying to make it sound like it's at all difficult, especially once they have shard. You can say what you want about having to manage mana, blah blah whatever. It is a joke. Threat is also a mechanic every class has to deal with. Yes, it is somewhat worse for an arcane mage, but considering you have so many threat dumps trying to use that as justification is so beyond stupid. It takes NO SKILL. That doesn't mean a mage isn't skilled, just arcane requires none.

@Bortgang To be fair playing arcane perfectly does require quite a bit of skill. It's just that there isn't much of an increase in DPS between perfect play and mediocre play. If you look at say, an Ele Sham the difference between mediocre and amazing is huge. As arcane it's tiny. As arcane an amazing player will do more damage than a mediocre player but the mediocre player will still do very very well (higher than they "deserve"). Hence why the spec gets the bad rep.

Yea pretty much. I jumped up from doing 10 - 12 k as frost to doing 15 k as arcane the very first fight i ever did as arcane and i messed up constantly on watching my mana.

Fire is easier then arcane. Played them both, fire was a lot easier to master. You don't need to watch your mana when you play fire.

can ppl stop whining about an arc mages rotaion, it may look like arc blast only but it's so much more! for example our mastery is that more mana=more dps and that something that ppl can't handle. If 99% off the ppl who said arc mage is easy and played them for then self they wouldn't be able to do any good dps or postion them self good etc etc. so stop whining about mages and focus on your class...

What I'm trying to say is adding FM to the arcane rotation makes as much sense as adding power word fort to a Spriests rotation or some such. To say a mage has no point in a raid setting is not what I'm trying to say. Again, the base of an arcane mages rotation boils down to 2 buttons and a few CDs

Blizzard doesn't have to touch the arcane rotation - they just need to lower the DPS down to the midddle-order and I guarantee you that suddenly everyone will be 100% fine with the arcane rotation.

Last 3 months nobody even uttered a word about the arcane rotation, then in 4.1 when the CAST TIME on Arcane Blast gets lowered suddenly everyone has a BIG fuckin problem with how "simple" the rotation is.

@mickeyliveshere You realize that virtually none of that is used as part of your rotation? Most of those are utility moves you rarely use, or cooldowns. I mean you're really grasping for straws when you put FM, a 30 minute dura buff as the list of moves an arcane mage uses. The whole point was that the rotation for arcane is damn simple and you're rather silly if you think otherwise.

In all honestly arcane is pretty easy, but the rotation is not Arcane Blat x infinity. Arcane is about mana management and CD management. This fight must have some gimmick that allows him to spam AB forever because he does not go oom.

@bpmill7 it is Blazing Power, the buff he stacks up by flying through the rings, increases haste every buff and restores mana (rage, energy, runic, etc)

@illidankratos to do really well as a arcane mage you have to make sure you conserve your mana, so let's cast arcane blast until you get four stacks, cast missiles and repeat. You do this to make sure you have around 90% mana when evocation cd is ready. But before you can AB spam you have to make sure that you cast out your mirror image (so you don't take aggro from the tank) pop arcane power and trinkets, make sure your flame orb is in the air, manashield up (for buff) and mna gems :)

@illidankratos actually arcane needs to watch mana and try to stay as close as possible to 100% because of arcane mastery, its done by clearing stacks with missiles and this guy was spaming am for long time near 50% mana on conservation phase which is wrong.. There is also burn phase where you use arcane power + mana gem + trinket and spam only arcane blast to 35% mana and evocate, this guy didnt use mana gem on burn phase which is wrong also. (it increases spell power for arcane)

@Tendo28 Dude i completely agree, Im an arcane mage also, and yes I realize the rotation is stupidly easy, but the only thing that makes the arcane mage interesting is how to manage Mana along with cooldowns to maximize your dps, and i did not see him pop cds at all. Even with the dmg debuff he didnt pop his cds, which amazes me.

I would think someone in a top 10 guild would use cooldowns properly as opposed to not using cooldowns at all, maybe he was just saving them for an unknown reason? but he didnt use a potion images or the troll racial in either video posted on mmo today.

@ddaanaan what? images isnt a dps loss if he has the arcane power glyph. it doesnt cost a gcd to cast images if you have arcane power up. His ab isnt under 1s at 4:10 ;) . I suppose in your eyes a potion isnt worth hitting either. arcane mages are really hard to play and all. this guy is in a top guild and he doesnt play properly. not saying he cant stay out of fire and be better than most that play the game. he just looks silly cause he doesnt know his class more than someone n a top 9k guild
