  • Laletta... come back with good Cinema's!!!

  • Raaga - close to Subapanthuvarali. Check out the notes and style

  • Ravindran-Yesudas combination produced so many HIts of all time. Like wise, M.G. Radhakrishnan- yesudas in the early 80- mid 90s. Now we can recollect those memories and live that ONLY..

  • nice classical ....

  • the raaga used is jogg..great composition by raveendran master & great singing by dasettan

  • Song of the century..

  • wow fentastic!!!

  • This is Raga-Kamodha KhadgaDharini

  • There is no parallel in Carnatic - it has been adopted in Carnatic by usage of some familiar combination of notes - the closest is Tilang - Natai is not the aligned raga.

  • You Can hear the beauty of Karnataka Music in the Beautiful Voice of KANDHARVA GANA Shri.K.J.Yesudas. No words express my feelings.Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw

  • what s the raga?

  • @muralierode1961

it is JOG in Hindustani... a parallel to Naattai in the south indian classical....

  • @mayurahamsa thanks

  • dasettaa..... thozhuthu !!!!!

    onnum parayaanilla

  • Still remember when I saw this movie in 1989-90..after the song ended there was pin drop silence in the jam packed theater for 2 minutes.. people were wonder struck.,. by the song and lalettans per formance,,

  • @pundachimon72

Thanks a lot for sharing you experience at the theatre..I remember the first time i watched this move and when this song ended I was sitting there, awestruck, jaw-dropped and totally unable to digest what I has just experienced!! I think no such things happen now a days as nobody creating anything magical now.Which is so sad!

  • @Celiabphilips exactly...jawdropping and awestruck..are the best words ..yes..that was the mood in the theater.. for some reason..filmmakers think malayalee taste has changed and so called "adipoli" songs ae being made. In fact tastes are still the same as far as melody is concerned..They only need to look at the number of hits these songs get on u tube.

  • translation continued..

In yet another story, amidst the Yamuna river, I have flowed like a mirage of the forest

Yet why I am raised through this celestial musical melody festival so unique.

    Main Line again...end

As with most languages especially a high-context one, you lose a lot while literally translating into a low context language..more evident when it is an abstract poem like this.

  • English translation in slightly literal sense would go something like this:

"The evergreen woods has yet again adorned a hearty melody;"-main line

    It is an auspicious occasion when the lit lamp-flame's playful shadow fills within my hand;

As in some lost story, within the Sarayu river, I have become a teary dream to adorn.

And yet why am I adorned like an emperor's crown within the intoxicating songs of a poet?

    Main Line again...

  • lalettanu allathe mattarkum act chyyan kazhijillla

  • amaizing humming................

  • Y 3 fellows dislike this song?

  • because singing is yesudas

  • the one and only one lalettan can act like this......

the one and only one dasettan can sing like this

the one and onle one raveendran mash can make a music like this....

  • @sugesh007 Well said brother.

  • 1991 national award jury stood for trivandrum mafia

  • Isn't This Song Just Too Good to Be Commented About !

    Dasettan Is God !

  • The music is great! Actor is Mohan Lal, but who is the actress that came running down the hall? Her action is superb

  • Her name is gouthami ,she is from tamil i think not sure

  • @poojraj Thanks

  • I repost my free translation of the song... The woods are aflame With the colors of spring, again. The twilight flickers Like a flame amidst the growing shadows. In the lores of yore... I was lost, like a teardrop, in the churning waters of Sarayu.. Then I was crowned, like an emperor, in the heady flow of the poet's song. In the lores of yore... I was a fallen flower, unsung, unseen, drifting in the Yamuna... Then I was the soothing melody in the Shepherd's flute, heralding the dawn.
  • still get goosebumps while hearing it

  • Raag Jog

  • what a sweet song....

  • BEST SONG BY DR.K J YESUDAS

  • it is flowing the mind in a g'd mood now itself.............

    our raveendran master....

  • In my translation, please read, 'in the heady flow of the poet's song'. ('of' was missing). Thank you.

  • niceeeeee songgggg thankssssssss

  • Dont Forget Lyrics Writer Kaithapram....one who is a part of this film.

  • Those who wanted the English translation of this song. The lyrics are simple, beautiful, and evocative, I am attempting a translation in free verse (not literal), in two parts.

    Part 1

    The woods are aflame

With the colors of spring, again.

    The twilight flickers

Like a flame amidst the growing shadows.

    In the lores of yore...

I was lost, like a teardrop, in the churning waters of Sarayu..

Then I was crowned, like an emperor,in the heady flow the poet's song. (cont'd)

  • Part 2 (Pramadavanam Cont'd)

    In the lores of yore...

I was a fallen flower, unsung, unseen, drifting away in the Yamuna...

Then I was the soothing melody in the Shepherd's flute, heralding the dawn.

  • @maruthanimaruthcould u kindly write the song in english, THANKS

  • @maruthanimarutha nice work.. very nice indeed

  • @maruthanimarutha

Brilliant.. I'm a malayali (speak fluent malayalam), but I've never learnt malayalam literature as I didnt grow up in Kerala. Never understood a word of this song until now. Many thanks.

  • @maruthanimarutha :onnu poda...

  • @maruthanimarutha , thanks!, you should try translating more such beautiful songs for us :)

  • great work by ravindran master....

  • I appreciate your comment. Please send me the English Subtitles for the song.

    Thank you.

  • THANK YOU YANNI........ for the beautiful video from my country. What a surprise! I remain in awe!! "Music is an international language".......and that's where we stand.

With deepest respect and delight, I have subscribed to your channel.

    Namastay!!

  • the song is superb!!

  • Late Mr. Lohit das, Late Ravindran master, sibi malayil, lalettan, K J yesudas - The Team!

  • who is that actress she is hot.. dang

  • Gautami

  • thanks.

  • Awesome song from Raveendran and Yesudas.

  • Yesudas is the best singer India ever produced .....

  • daaaamn i love this song!!!! and OF COURSE mohanlal is impeccable and flawless in this mvie as usual!

  • sibi malayil

  • This is verry Exelent song that will touch all hearts

  • yes of course

  • Mohanlal's expressions could have been better, when yesudas is singing the high notes (innithaa), mohanlal seemingly sings shows singing with ease, but practically it is not that easy. Kudos to yesudas & raveendran for this fantastic song, what a great combination

  • I agree with your comments about Mohanlal's expressions during the high notes... But once done is done I would say it was different when these talents united in Araamthamburaan for Harimulraleeravam.

  • cant forget this song , even after years passed many.....difficult song to sing

  • excellent.... beautiful.....yesudas sir is simply superb

  • what a song. probably the best song malayalam film industry have ever produced. this from the raga JOG. what a creation from raveendran and this is sang to perfection by ganagandharvan dasettan

  • Did u notice the variation for same word at various places sung differently. Chanceless music director and singer.

  • wattaaaaaaaaa singing

das anna u r simpl rockg

  • Yesudas deserved the national award for this piece

  • Definitely..Except national awards are filled with politics..I remember an interview i saw with Thilakan..He recalls that won more points than Amitabh Bacchan for the national award, but ended up losing, due to Bacchan's influence...Thilakan is one actor who deserves more than 1 national award..Ive heard that Yesudas himself backed out of the Hindi music industry due to underworld threats,

  • i tried singing this song bak in my school days, not to mention i scared the crowd away, i think i scared the whole town...haha

yesudas songs are meant not to replicate!!!!

    brings bak memories :)

  • beatiful song... hats off to raveendran!!

  • awesome piece.. amazing!

  • this is my most fav malayalam song!!

  • great bass voice and good music

  • Ponnamma chechi has always been the best mother of lalettan and in the new movie MADAMBI shez a crule mother to mohanlal, would be really interesting to watch..!

  • mohanlal-raveendran-yesudas-sibi malayil-lohithadas, truly wat a combination..!!

  • yesudas at his best>>>>>>>>

  • this song gambhira nattai raagam....awesome

  • or is it Hindustani Jog?

  • It's the Hindustani Jog, not Gambheera Nattai. Very close though.

  • @vpadmana forgive my ignorance, but is there any difference between the two? i thought they were the same- that jog was the Hindustani version of Gambheera nattai?

  • @aashraya1 The answer to that question is mostly "yes" especially when you compare the Classical Nattai with Classical Jog. It is as close as you can get. However, depending on the "school of thought" and rendition style you will find subtle differences. In cine songs however, music directors do flatten out gamakas for example, and even introduce an "anneya swara" (or non traditional note). These are done to appeal to a broader audience and fit with lyrics etc.

  • Awesome song! One of the best malayalam songs! Just love it!

  • Too good...no wonder it is considered one of the most difficult songs...Yesudas has really used his magical skills here..

  • legendary

  • Beautiful song in the raaga jOg. KJY's voice makes it even better.

  • I like this music and the movie too

  • heaven on earth.

  • exactly dear!

  • = )

  • my favourite

  • One of the greatest musical compositions ever! Superbly composed by Raveendran master and superbly rendered by Yesudas. Thank you for this for all eternity!

  • Raveendran master has scored for a tamil film Rasigan oru rasigai (Styaraj). There is one great song by KJY (yezhisai geethame...). I am unable to get it. There is also an equivalent number in malayalam, I hear. Will somebody post it?

  • Great composition by Late Raveendran Master, he really knew how to exploit KJY's Manthrathayi skills ( dont know any one can do that better )

  • The full credits goes to Raveendran first then KJY.

  • Vbalakrishna is right. How can this song be sung by anybody else but KJY? Full credit for composition goes to Raveendran. Full credit for singning so beautifuuly and soulfully goes tof course to KJY.

  • I'm a Tamilian addict of this song; will somebody translate it in english?

  • Hard to translate. Very poetic. I'm malayali and I don't even understand most of what is being sung. But basically the song is about how he's singing a beautiful melody that comes from the heart...and he compares the melody to various things like a sunrise, a story, a raindrop, a flowing river, etc

  • Just about every single word of this song is loaded with meaning. If you understand even a bit, you can understand its beauty. Even without understanding the words, the music itself is very well done.

  • @endofdays5767 dear endofdays, it is not poetic, the lyrics is absolute stupid. It got masked by the music... Words are being arranged like matchboxes. It's not your fault that you didn't understand anything. Third rate lyrics.

  • Jesudas gets to shows off his talent really well in this song. It probably has alot to do with the music director

  • A priceless composition by the late Raveendran master, composed in 'Jog' raagam! No one could have sung it better than KJY and as always beautiful lyrics by Kaithapram!

  • I am a Telugu guy, but KJY has proved that music is beyond language. What a song. I dont know the meaning, dont know the lyrics, but when I listen to it I can see GOD. Long live KJY.

  • All the songs in this movie are great. Did you watch the Aanandam duel song? It has also got wonderful performances from 2 of our greatest actors.

  • "but when I listen to it I can see GOD"

    Enough said!

  • Great voice and good composition

  • raveendran master-yesudas-kaithapram.......

    greatest team ever........evergreen songs

  • Beautiful song..........

  • i get goose pimples every time i listen to thus song. Good job!

  • All time best.A timeless creation..

  • how can i find this movie?!

  • Your best bet would be try to find Kerala stores that sell movies or have someone buy it and bring it to you.

  • whats the exact title of this movie

  • His Highness Abdullah

  • i love this movie. its one of the best ever!

  • Thanks very much for posting this song....

please also post 'hari murali ravam' from aaram thamburan....

  • Thanks. I found Reghu Vamshapathe and Ramakatha of Bharatham in youtube. I read somewhere that Great singer Jesudas called Raveendran Master in the midnight and said that he is ready to sing "Ramakatha" and they did the recording in one take. Great music director and a Great singer.

  • I also was waiting for these wonderful songs. Can you post those immortal songs of Late. Raveendran master from "Bharatham" also. Thanks.
