mac is my favorite brand. it is not the be all and end all of makeup for sure. i don't use makeup from marykay or avon because i like to stay in my comfort zone with mac.

Hey girl! Love your videos! I actually have purchased a few items from the M.A.C. Holiday collection. I bought the sets of five neutral lustre/lip glasses & warm pigments sets. And I love them! The colors are fantastic! I definitely plan on trying to buy one or two sets of the eyeshadows!

she said the SE & reg. brushes were exactly the same thing, and now i find out from youtubers that one is hand made and one is mass produced. oh well. thanks for the vid; good details.

Your video was very helpful :) My first MAC brushes were from a set. I recently bought the full size ones and I compared them yesteday after watching your video. you are totally right. My 266 is thicker than the full size one and the 224 is not so tappered. You don't notice it by looking at it but it feels less precise in the skin. I though that the brushes were the same and that the only difference was the lenght of the handle and I was about to get some holiday kits!! So thanks for your video.

This is the first review on the holiday brushes comparing them to the full size versions. Great job - this is definitely good info for consumers to know.

I noticed that you use ricepaper as a highlight a lot - so do I! It is my #1 staple shadow of all time. Loves it.

Yea, I got the face set w/ the 187 se and it kept shedding and shedding during use & cleaning..so i exchanged it out for the full size 188 & 168 since i'd rather invest in the handmade ones that will last a while! but the sets r great starter sets b/c i started off w/ the eyes set myself! =]

I recommend the full size brushes hands down. The brushes in the brush set are not the same quality/shape and they tend to shed. They are good if you need brushes for traveling/on the go but they will not replace the full size ones.

You probably have known this, but just in case, Nordstrom has the MAC brush sets for $35!! I got the face set, but honestly I think they are of different bristles than the regular ones, so it's not about whether it's man made or mass produced (of course it matters..) nonetheless for $35 it's still worth it.

Thanks for sharing. I always hear that the SE's aren't as good in quality as the Original brushes. They are pretty though and good to carry them with you. I just picked up the 188 at the CCO. Now I have to get the 187. Can you also believe the shadowy lady quad was at the CCO for $24.99? You know I picked that up also:)

I was tempted to get the face brush set cause I wanted the 187 & 190, but I've heard about the different quality so I just went and got the real 187. But the brush handles are sooo pretty! I got the Rose lips for Adoring Carmine (which I LOVE) and the Plum lips for Passions of Red. I'm pleased with this H/C trying not to splurge more..lol
