That is so awesome!! I'm a bass sits myself and I was wondering if you had sheet music or chords? I'm considering doing something like this for the HSC
@plasma4ce Glad you like it. As it happens, the drummer is sitting behind the camera. We did this little video for youtube but we play as a flute, bass and drum trio. I would describe our music as progressive jazz, but I would say its fairly unique.
I have been going through some of your videos and your tapping is incredible! Do you have any tips for someone who is just starting tapping? Are you using any special strings?
nice job! Bass technique is nicely executed and the flute player has excellent tone. Keep up the good work! This is coming from a bass guitar/flute player and a long time Zelda fan! No complaints here ;)
I have no idea how I stumbled on this... but it's getting a subscribtion. Then I'm going to get an N64 emu and play me some Ocarina of Time... at 26 years old ..christ sakes haha
To the flutist- amazing flute solo! any idea where I can find the sheet music for the solo? I already own lost woods but I've never heard this version, great work!
@mellamochi Hi, glad you liked it. This is a version that I arranged myself (the bassist) for the bass and flute. This flutist came up with the solo herself - so i wouldn't imagine you could find and sheet music for it.
@N1ckandFriends- oh it's cool, i already figured it out. a really beautiful scale, combined with a lost woods sort of feel. also i dig your tapping, perfect for this song.
lol this is clever. love the game, and this is not a bad cover, but the bass player need to learn how to hold a bass, even without a strap. flute sounded alright, but the bass needs more control.
@connorbassplayer You have to realise that usually when a player makes a large-frett jump they still have the plucking hand in the same position which acts as a point of reference. In this bassline, the transition between the fingerstyle and the tapping section involves a large-frett jump with both hands simultaneously, which means that the bass needs to remain in the same position for a fluid transition.
@connorbassplayer Also, when tapping with the right hand it is actually better to have the bass at an angle as it gives a more neutral wrist position - hence why the bass is in the position that it is.
@N1ckandFriends Having the bass that low has nothing to do with wrist position. you can have comfortable wrist position with it higher. and the "point of reference" argument was bullshit, because it has nothing to do with what i was talking about. frets and markers are points of reference, not your hands. you can keep the bass in the same position without looking like a metal-head tool. not bad playing, but why should you have to be killing your left wrist?
@connorbassplayer What exactly are you saying is "wrong" with the position of the bass? Are you suggesting that it should be higher? Its resting on my knee... the only way to make it higher is to use a strap.
@N1ckandFriends it seems to me that its low. i keep looking at it and its not that youre holding it wrong, but the shape of the bass i dont feel is made for the lap. if it feels right, the i guess go for it, but it seems to be giving your left wrist a hell of a time. for example at 0:30, that looks so unnatural. thats probably why i never bought a warwick bass. it sounds fine, so im just being a nit-picky dick.
@tupa2000 jimi hendrix did a lot of weird shit like light his guitar on fire, does that mean he should light his bass up? and jimi was also a legendary player...
so chill and awesome. love the black IKEA cd boxes in the background too...LOL i have those.
