  • Here Here girlygirl13cc!

  • People back then used to have talent

  • i love Marilyn!!!

  • goodness i LOVE old movies. People really had talent and women had class.

  • @lindseylizabeth By class you mean they wore dresses and were confined to the strict forced-upon roles that men shoved on them? Just because women today own their sexuality and are out spoken doesn't mean they don't have class. It means they are done being men's bitches and want the same exact options that men have had since humans got on this planet.

  • @littlekidrin And Ive seen your profile picture you ugly looking bitch! youre mad that in your societ, your "guys" fuck you and pas you around like a used up blunt! your women are not respected! you think your "free" when youre not! go watch maury bitch and see how many women get left after their guys that they have premarital SINFUL sex with decide they dont want them! Your society has no morals and you will get nothing but the wrath of God from this life and the hereafter! so shut your face!

  • I wish sometimes I was born in this era too and then I remember that I'm half black and then I change my mind..

  • @NhyimaGReeves hahaha well said

  • I'm sorry, but Marilyn was overrated. She was an inept actress, mediocre singer, not even a great dancer. She was gorgeous and just seemed to be living off of her looks and that 'slutty baby doll' act. It's because of her that we have that annoying wispy voiced, blonde bimbo persona today (Paris Hilton and the like). Why to girls want to be like her? Why don't they try to aim much higher and aspire to be someone who is truly talented and intelligent, strong, and well adjusted. Like Ms. Streep.

  • @YoungOscarWinner

if you actually knew who you where talking about you would understand that Marilyn Monroe was actually a very intelligent woman and an actress who naturally gave off sex appeal, which there is nothing wrong with doing. she played her parts very well, whether she was acting a sly gold digger, an innocent childlike persona or a dramatic role. Btw, won any oscars recently?

  • @YoungOscarWinner If Marilyn wasn't good then why is she one of the #1 remembered faces in all of acting. Marilyn didn't even like her slutty roles and wanted to take on more serious stuff. She didn't get the chance to because her life was cut short. She didn't coast off her looks, she did so on acting and hard work.

  • @YoungOscarWinner That all depends what you think higher is but let’s be frank. It’s been 50 years since Marilyn died and people still remember, most of which were not even born back then. This while in contrast, Ms. Streep (though a good actress she may be) will be forgotten shortly after dying along with her films; not that she isn’t already a has been staring in B films and having to loose her shoe at some British award festival to get attention.

  • awwww hayyyyy

  • Gus Esmond: Dorothy Shaw,I want you to remember. you're supposed to be the chaperone on the trip!

Dorothy Shaw: Now let's get this straight Gus, the chaperone's job is to make sure nobody else has any fun. But nobody chaperones the chaperone. That's why I'm so right for this job

    <3

  • RIP Norma Jeane & Jane Russell. -3

  • Just curious- why does she call Mr. Edmund "daddy"?

  • @Bunnyhop777 my idea is, that it's because of Marilyn Monroe used to call so her gentlemen friends in real life;

  • Can we bring musicals like these back?

  • Marilyn Monroe was awesome RIP Marilyn Monroe

  • does anyone else feel like they were born during the wrong time period because i certainly do

  • @khalsakaur57 me too and in a place where I do not belong

  • it's official! we must all start a movement to bring the style and values back from this decade! Ladies: start wearing red lipstick and freaking take pride in the way you look!

Men: pull your pants up and start wearing suits and fadoras again!!

  • @girlygirl3cc Women don't take pride in how they look?

  • @littlekidrin You seriously want to compare American Old Hollywood glamour with the trash that lurks the streets of Beverly hills! taking pride in looks in the west now means "taking off all your clothes for random men". These women then had class and femininty! no amount of sephora/mac can give a woman "fmemininty"! American society has become a society of loose morals! you go out in the summer and see how many naked women you see walking around! thats not taking pride

  • @markee871 I do go out in the summer and I never see anyone naked walking around. Oh, so women are suppose to be feminine to be considered classy and a lady? Maybe you should quit being a sexist and thinking women should look and act a certain way. Just because a woman has sex and owns her sexuality doesn't mean she doesn't have class. Sorry that you think having sex is wrong but it's not.

  • @girlygirl3cc as an Italian I could not agree more that is why I make it a habit of wearing suits and ties specially when in the society of a lady but for the ladies, we must also include stockings; since it is in their silk where we find true sensual elegance.

  • @girlygirl3cc That would be AWESOME!!!

  • @12081985 exactly. I don't understand how people let women so beautiful slip away from them due to foolishness

  • Totally born in the wrong decade.

  • It''s very sad how marilyn manroe lived, being divorced alot, being not loved but seen only as sex-symbol...i think she must have wished "I wants to be a normal women to be loved by a man, start a family and grow old with my lover" I wish I was her husband, no matter what kind of women she could be, I would still accept her as whole...but I admit, she is pretty damn hot and pretty...you must be an idiot to leave such beautiful women...

  • RIP Norma Jeane.

  • Oh how I wish I lived back then

  • Wow, and this is in good condition, too! I own in on DVD. Thank you, parents! FOr letting me watch old movies as a kid, and not the horrible stuff. This was my favorite movie as a kid. I had NO idea they were gold diggers until I watched it as an adult and during this first part I was like O_O. "OMG, They are golddiggers!" (This literally happened.) =D

  • I thought I wanted to be an actress for my career, but now I want to be an inventor. So I can invent the time machine and go back to when TV was good, people could act, and they would sing a song and become famous without autotune helping them.

  • @MsRandomness4ever But she cant sing... she lip syncs in some stuff... not even her voice!

  • not all blondes are stupid this denigrates blonds and comes back to the stereotipe :(

  • @qawsed24680 If you watch it carefully, and some of her other movies too, you will see that both Marilyn and her character of Lorelei 'act' dumb for the guys, but are actually smart and doing it to get what they want. It doesn't make her a 'dumb' blonde, but rather implies that they are 'dumb' guys for falling for the act.

  • One of my favourite musicals and Marilyn Monroe movies! This and How to marry a millionaire...timeless movies and fashion!

  • i remember the first time i watched this movie, i was in grade 5 i think, the next day i was so in love with it i asked my best friend if she would sing one of the songs with me at the upcoming talent show-she laughed in my face when i told her it was more than 5 years old!

  • at least marilyn had talent. megan fox has zero talent and half her face is plastic.

  • i love Marilyn and specially her voice... none of any other actress have such voice... i love her til i die... thts final..

  • i love these years better than the now years its all about i-phone and blackberry and other technical stuffs 3d even these old years have music with meanings even the movies..........not now songs and movie they all curse and the movies all of them the same story ... i wish if i were live in those years between 1944-1965

  • i love this film - i am thirteen years old and prefer old movies full of elegance and poise to the new supposedly sexy and violent movies of the modern day... and im proud of IT!!!!!!

  • @TheCircleNet this is lovely to hear:) and t this you should aspire!!women were much more elegent and classy!!

  • When I'm in a bad mood I can just pop this movie in, and it always makes me feel good.

  • What shocks me is how dirty this movie really is. "Those girls couldn't drown", "dibs on the shot putter", LOL! Love, love, love this movie!!!

  • @james1200 what did he mean by 'those girls couldn't drown'?

  • Love the fashion of the day. These styles need to make a comeback. ;)

  • i have NEVER see a old movie before i think...

  • I wonder what Jane and Marilyn are doing in heaven right now, oh god I miss them.

  • Jane is so beautiful..her legs are great..and that figure.. i love her face also.. just a wonderful lady. no i am not bi... lol..

  • I'd rather watch this than any of the crap thats on our screens now! I love old movies!

  • @GingerJukebox I do too!

  • Thank you for this, I love these gorgeous old musicals!

  • norma jean has no breats. and could you believe taht was the standard till the 1980s. now I can understand why the world, back then, was so twusted.

  • @ratatulsuprem1 breats and twusted? Hmm. You make me undestand why our generation is conveyed as stupid.

  • @ratatulsuprem1

    1. You need to learn how to spell.

    2. Back then, the world was more conservative, not "twisted".

    3. Marilyn had what was considered the perfect breast size back then, and even now.

4.There was no standard for the 1950s.

  • I love these women...they are so beautiful! One of my favorite movies!!!!

  • most beautiful women everr

  • i wanna watch the seven year itch SO badly, i cant find it ANYWHERE.

  • @deekaygee33 go to google and type seven year itch novamov , or stagevu

  • With performances like this neither Marilyn nor Jane will ever really die.

    R.I.P.

  • I love how ironic the characters that Marilyn plays are!!

They all seem so simple and Marilyn is FAR from simple!

She was such an intelligent individual! :D

  • lol i love the random hand wamer she is wearing, haha i used to have a barbie with a black one. theyre so random

  • love musicals :) well actually just classic movies

  • Jane Russell and Elizabeth Taylor, may you both rest in peace...

  • @ilyniley4ever what about ms monroe?

  • i hate my generation. I would like to apologize for all the shitty music, horribly cliche`d movies and reality tv shows encouraging teen pregnancies. IM SORRY.

  • @deekaygee33 Hey its not your fault, but thanks. I love the old movies, so many great old flicks. I hope each new generation has a chance to view them and appreciate them as I do.

  • @deekaygee33 Every generation has good and bad to it. It always has and always will. We have kate Winslet and Adele.

  • @REDPENCIL99

Ive loved adele since 2009, isnt she amazing? I know theres a few good singers in this generation, but still autotune is what most singers use and it makes them sound like robots.

  • @deekaygee33 Adele is a beautiful and brilliant singer. I found out about her when she was on Chelsea Lately a few months ago and I was attracted to her immediately.

  • @deekaygee33 i agree! I wish I lived in the 1950s! The movies back then are so much better than most today.

  • @deekaygee33

couldnt have said it better myself.

  • @deekaygee33 amen, couldnt have said it better myself!!!!

  • @deekaygee33

    You and me both.

  • Comment removed

  • @deekaygee33 teen pregnancies? and you're watching a marilyn monroe movie. lol

  • @deekaygee33

ps. they had abortion back then too, believe it or not.

  • @deekaygee33 It's not our generations fault, it was the one before us who encourages that stuff. They just want to make money, that's all they care about.

  • @deekaygee33 apology accepted.

  • Jane Russel was an amazing actress. Her talent almost overshadows the focus towards Marilyn's beauty.

  • @Budaphly And Jane is BEAUTIFUL!

  • Im a 16 year old boy and i grew up watching marilyn monroe movies with my grandparents, its stupid for a boy to have a woman as his idol but i LOVE Marilyn monroe so much. I was born into the wrong era let me tell you lol i wish figures like Jane's and Marilyns where still what women found as attractive because these girls bodys are BANGING, the stick thin girls of today look terrible

  • @NathanJesseMcCarthy I think thin or curvy women can look good in any body shape or size. Many women are thin naturally, do you mean they are ugly? The point of diversity in beauty is not to control how women should look like, including not insulting thin women. And there are plenty of curvy women around, maybe you are not looking in the right places

  • @NathanJesseMcCarthy Marry me? joking ;)

  • Marilyn Monroe <33

  • "those girls couldn't drown!"

  • RIP Jane Russell, you will be missed.

  • @stylestar07 Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston? Are you fucking KIDDING ME?!?!??!?!?!?!?!

This movie can never be remade and it if it, it will never have the amazingness and awesomeness as this one.

  • Bet Marilyn and Jane are having A good old fasioned catch up now beyond those pearly gates :) R.I.P Jane Russel, gone but never forgotten xxx

  • I can just imagine who was waiting for her at the pearly gates.

    RIP Jane Russell!!

  • Rest In Peace, Jane Russell

  • FIERCE!!!

  • This maybe a crazy idea.. but i think it would be a huge success just on the people playing the roles: If a remake were to be done I would Like to see Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Anniston play the roles of these 2 icons.. R.I.P. Jane Russell.. I loved this movie since I was a kid in the 90's ...

  • @stylestar07

    same here

  • She was a very classy lady, R.I.P

  • RIP Jane Russell - what a classy lady with great talent. No stars like this anymore...

  • May Jane Russell rest in peace.

  • "We're just two little girls..."

    <3 it !!

  • can never have enough of this movie. how can you be utterly feminine and hilarious at the same time? that's marilyn for you.

  • Marilyn, after her childhood, grew into a very strong woman. Innocent, but strong. She even said, "I'd rather be a sex symbol than some other things we've got symbols for." I understand what she means. Marilyn on the inside was a total free spirit who lived on the edge in innocence. She was unstoppable- When destiny gave her a cue, she went where her desires took her.

  • Marilyn Monroe had a messed up childhood, a crazy mother, she married young and was probably never stable. She could have turned out much worse considering, but much like Judy Garland, she couldn't shake aspects of her upbringing and was more than likely depressed for much of your life. To feel like people only love you for your looks or your fame can't feel that great.

  • "Is this the way to europe, France?"

  • Marilyn was a beautiful girl and a talented actress. This film was directed by Howard Hawks, who is one of the greatest comedy directors. It was based on a long-running successful stage version which starred Carol Channing. When Carol saw the film, she said that she was amazed by Marilyn's performance.

  • I watched this movie for the first time at last year's new year's eve...and I loved Jane and Elliot!

It was a bit annoying how marylin over acted her sort of auto-parody, but she can still make it funny, the story is great and the actors and actresses were magnificent!

I am only 16 years old but I can surely recognise good movies, and this one became my favorite!

  • she reminds me of cinderella.. marylin monroe very pretty.. but can someone please tell me.. did she sleep around alot .. becuase I have been researching on here.. and the more I found out.. the more I started to feel that she is not as I thought...and quotes that people know her would say..like her makeup artist george masters.....I just want to know why people idolize her even though her lifestyle was very"not conservative"? Hope someone answeres me

  • @pinknlilly I'm guessing it's mostly because her death was mysterious and tragic. And when you look back at someone after they die, people tend to look at only the good things. Also movie stars were a lot more manufactured back then than they are today. Most of them were high maintenance, drunk, high, and sleeping with any high profile man they could find, but they appeared to be wholesome "normal" women to the mass public. And I don't think Marilyn was any exception ....

  • @pinknlilly Oh and I also want to add that regardless of her personal life, people still idolize her because she was talented, charismatic, and entertaining. And that was her job, and she did it well. She was also never marketed to 14 year olds. Like, if she worked for Disney or something, then yeah, maybe her sleeping around would be an issue.

  • oh i thought when she said his pocket was bulging she meant.......yeah.

  • they're just so beautiful, both of them!

  • haha, that's not a diamond bulge in his pocket.....

  • God this is so funny xD I love it haha

  • i love this movie! i am totally going to put this on my ipod and watch it. the power at my house went out because we are having a blizzard and there's no TV! lol

  • This is one of my favorite movie of Marilyn monroe I think this movie itś really funny.

  • thank you for this version because i'm french and the french version is not good Marilyn Monroe forever

  • thank you for this version because i'm french and the french version is not good Marilyn Monroe forever

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH!!!! <3

  • This is my 3rd time watching this... it brilliant!!! <3

  • they should remake this movie! lorelei should be christina aguilera...she is very good at the whole 40's and 50's thing and dorthy could be kristen belle!

  • @tigersclaw99 take it you loved burlesque as much as i did then? ;) xox

  • @rebagirl92 yesss :) i saw it 4 times!

  • There never have, never will be ANYONE as beautiiful and striking and sweet as Norma Jean Baker. eg-- Marilyn Monroe, She will live in our hearts forever as the most beautiful woman in the world. She was more than just blonde and beautiful, she was very smart too, and had a high IQ test, higher than Arthur Miller, her ex husband. And some say he was a genuis, I say he was dumb for letting her go. Norma Jean RIP, you are forever beautiful. I have so much respect for you!

  • those girls couldn't drown ha ha

  • l really like Marylin and see a beautiful woman but Jane Russell has got so much more personality and she's more enjoyable to watch. M.Monroe is just plain.

Just saw this movie on Tv and it was my first time seeing Jane and l absolutely love her!

    Classic film

  • @lilmissashleym I agree 100%

  • Possibly the greatest film of all time

  • owww i think i was marylyn monroe on another life, hahaha

  • maybe this is the best film with MM, because she looks hier happier than in the others pictures

  • Marilyn may be the blonde bombshell, but Jane Russel is a babe.

  • really funny, but u should watch "lets make love", its my fav.

  • Too bad for Jane Russell... she played with Marilyn Monroe who's so, very stunning. You can't look at anybody else, but Marilyn. :)

  • @AnyahLise So true, I think I've watched this movie probably 10 or 12 times and can honestly say that I'm not really aware whether Jane Russell is any good in it or not as my eyes and concentration are permanently with Marilyn.

  • they're both so gorgeours, I wish I could at least have like 10 per cent of their beauty! HAHA!

  • mine was always Bus Stop....

  • Marilyn Monroe was awesome, beautiful and all that good stuff, sexy you name it. But I always wished they let her use her own voice in the movies and did not make her make those foolish expressions when she moved her lips. It's so annoying. I know in real life she didn't do this, I've seen and heard her interviews.

  • @Pegbur i'd say not annoying, but surreal; it's exactly the speciality of this film

  • thank you very much for uploading! I will have to see that!

  • A wonderful classic....really is very funny!! thanks Dudo for upload.. I love this movie

  • look at 9:25, a lady turns her partner's head by his nose haha

  • I love this musical, it's one of my favs! Are there still live stage musicals for this one? This is the first marilyn monroe movie I watched, and one of my favourites!

  • Is that guy named Willard J. Stevens at 7:39 Donald O'Connor?

  • MM made this film. And she could nto have weighed much more than 117 pounds. I say this because a few years back I went to Debbie Reynolds sale of MM movie outfits. MM was tiny. The clothes were tiny. She was just PACKED. Va Va Va rrrooom!!

  • Jane russle made 100K for this Movie, and Poor Monroe only made 18K due to a pathetic contract from Paramount! So sad!

  • i cant believe that monroe weighted 140! she looked smaller

  • Comment removed

  • @cvgf08 she didn't weigh 140 here, it was later on prob 1960 she weighed 140.

And in 1962 she weighed 117. It's a myth she was always a bigger lady.

  • @pepsico haha very true and it's obious;-)! her waist measure hardly changed though.. and she was practically a size 5 today which was a 14 or 16 then..

but she never seemed like she gained weight cus her fat went to the right places (her butt and breast) which i dont think the butt part was a good part in those days:p

  • @cvgf08 But she used to weigh more, because she had an abortion before this movie

  • @fsounds really? i thought she wasn't able to become pregnat... that's why she was alway depressed

  • @cvgf08 She wasn't always depressed. She actually were really happy at the end, but she was thinking alot. The reason she didn't have any children because the first one she aborted, and the second died inside of her, when it was only a couple of months after what I've read and heard.

  • @fsounds: I would be depressed too if my mother was mentally ill and people call me a dumb blonde when my natural hair color was dark.

  • @LaoSoftware yes yes absolutely. I would certainly prefer

to be called a dumb brunette jeje ;)

  • marylin monroe is my idol.

this is my fave film she's in

  • "Look!Round windows!" I was thinking the EXACT same thing.Bahaha. :D

  • "You can't see him, but my Dad was hiding behind the Curtain right at the beginning."
