They should have not included the vocals...But The music is waaaaay better than the original Dynamite Rave. it's just the vocals... the beat boxing and stuff is cool. c'mon guys cheer up.
C'mon, @Konami, your MGS profit is more than enough to outright buy the license for the original 3rdMIX version; forcing NAOKI to unnecessarily remixing Dynamite Rave is an encore of the whole 250 bpm fiasco waiting to happen on DDR.
As of March 24th, 25 people and I have the decency to dislike this unholy mixture of our once beloved Dynamite Rave and what sounds like a failed American Idol try out.
I'm fine with this version. I don't like it as much as the older version, but I'll be the first to admit that I accept change as it is because, quite frankly, it's inevitable. Find one company that hasn't changed up their formula and still survives today.
@Robozukin it might be for licensing issues, or Konami USA (the ones who concieved this pieve of crap) thought they would try to give it urban feel by adding a crappy rapper...i am sorry but Konami USA are so cheap right now....even X2 is missing about 15 songs from the Japanese version, but Konami Europe has left the songs in for the australasian releases
@Robozukin Yes but how come ddrx JP cab has the old even the remixes of the old vocals while ddr x us cab has the new vocals? if it's the license issues, why not just renew the license since it's the same one who sings it... or add the artist name with Naoki after it... though not sure why D2R doesn't have new lyrics.
Great. I though we already had enough "you can do it" songs. I was half expecting them to sing "you're the best around and no one's ever gonna bring you down"
Way to go, Konami. You destroyed one of the best songs in the game. If you're gonna screw up a song this badly, you'd might as well just take it out. This is the same kind of bullshit Andrew Hussie pulled after he trolled Bill Bolin off the face of MSPA.
I heard they had to re-make a lot of the classic songs because the licenses on them were expiring. Some of them turned out better, some worse, some relatively unchanged. I'm still undecided on this one, simply because I LOVED the original with a passion.
@Phailin In my case, I grew up playing the original versions, 10 years ago.
So, I feel biased about the issue. Worse, the fact that Konami won't outright buy the licenses shows to me how much it neglects DDR. Heck, IIDX stil have TaQ, Akira Yamaoka, Reo Nagumo, and Tatsh songs, even though these artists are NO LONGER WITH KONAMI.
All the DDRX remixes are good. All of the beat their original apart from Dynamite Rave. The lyrics and the vocals in the old ones were crap (Execpt for D. Rave or course).
I'm am in no way new to DDR. I've been playing since Dancing Stage Euromix.
wow reading these comments shows me how much DDR players listen to actual lyrics. as far as the the actual music and beats this sounds almost identical just different words. so this really is not that bad in my opinion.
All these bs vocal remakes of old school DDR songs completely ruins them.
Any TRUE old school DDR player will tell you that. (Assuming I'm going to get several thumbs down... In which case, is most likely due to some newfags who just started DDR when SuperNOVA came out.)
Original Dynamite Rave use to be my favorite song of all time back when I first started playing years ago. While I'll admit, dynamite rave isn't the worst remake they've decided to do, its the fact that they replaced the song all together.
I just hope they renew the licenses, because the mobile version of DDR X (I hear it has affected home versions as well) has Brilliant 2U murdered as well :(.

Stepchart: Yet to see, but the original had a memorable style that your legs seem to remember as soon as you hear the song, and the newer charts have generally been... generic? I dunno. No definite judgement.
