Unfortunately, getting there these days means the kids in the car are glued to the LCD screens built into the headrests watching Dora the Explorer or playing video games WHILE you're driving. When I was a kid, I sat in the back seat of a blue 1979 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser (looked like the Truckster) listening to cassettes on Sanyo's version of the Walkman. Hated it when the sun melted the tapes!
@PigsInBlanket It was a birthday present, at which my Dad was marveled by the stereo sound coming out of such a small device. My first tapes were Joan Jett and J. Geils band, which my parents almost didn't buy because there was a song on the album titled 'Piss on the Wall' :)
@PigsInBlanket -Dude, my Dad didn't get a TV with a remote until like 1990 :) In fact, just a couple of months ago, I went to my parents house and upgraded them from a tube TV and a computer using dial up, to a brand new computer with wireless printer, high def TV and blu-ray player. They've got more high-tech crap now than I do! Of course they barely know how to use it -lol!
I feel bad for new generations who know zero about the 80's. They were born with a smart phone in their pockets. Clark says it himself, getting there is half the fun. New technology is so generic.
@pearlmax I agree. I'm 18 (born 1992) and I'm in love with the 80s, and retro stuff in general. I listen to vinyl records and I still watch VHS. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
lol...This video is so funny, i have the movies in my living room. It is amazing, look at that computer, and then look at what we are watching this video from today.
I'm a pilgrimage to see a Moose! Praise, Marty Moose! Actor/Comedian Chevy Chase is a Maniac! I was only 5 years old when this film first came out back in the year 1983!
Thank you, Audrey that's just great

@zizwop It's amazing. We didn't even get our first personal computer until 1995. This scene is from early 1983.

@MordaciousFilms Agreed. I grew up with cassettes, NOT vinyl albums, but I own a mid-1970's Record/8-Track Player, and I love it.
