Paul Krugmen, a nobel winning economist, says only 600 billion of the 820 billion bill is actually stimulative, and that its not enough. We may need around 2 trillion. China just unveiled a similar bill that equals 20% of their GDP. Obama's stimulus bill is only around 6% of the US's.

I have met both Gramm and Hutchinson when I worked at ENRON. Gramm was the author of what is now called the ENRON LOOPHOLE which allows large corporations to falsify accounting and deceive investors. His wife, Wendy, was an ENRON director, making a MILLION A YEAR doing nothing. The nations of Eastern Europe were all socialist states at one time. Are all still that way today? What about India? It had a socialist government for a time but remained democratic. Most Western European states have semi-socialistic policies, but all are democracies. Socialism in a democratic state doesn't automatically equal a dictatorship. The same is true for dictatorships, most aren't socialistic.

I am a Conservative from a family in the "Increased Taxation" bracket (over $250K a year). Even with the tax hike, my family will still live in a nice house, drive nice cars, and be able to pay all our bills.
Sure, we're going to pay more; but it's a negligible increase in the grand picture and doesn't warrant all this "tearing down the rich whining". The far-Right is just as bad as the far-Left.
