@fanatikk1 that's strange. make sure you uninstall anti-virus including windows security essentials before trying this. don't re-install windows security essentials afterward.

@Norskeviking001 if you go to 'Start' -> right click on 'Computer' -> click 'Properties' -> scroll to the bottom -> there should no longer be any mention of Genuine Advantage or Genuine Windows or anything like that. You can do all updates just make sure you 'Hide' KB971033 !

@TWTPVZ I had the same error and for me the problem was that my computer is a 64 bit system, not a 32 bit. Just copy the info from the .txt file that follows "for 64x: " instead and it should work fine.

Uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials. It checks for WAT (which was removed in this process).
