So cool seeing those old stores, Sanger Harris, original Cookie Company, on and on. Back when Town East had it going on and shopping malls were the bomb. You know b4 most of them were taken over by scum suckers/thugs.
Mark Wheeler's character Torbin Bequette sucked, but he was sure cute. Love it near the end when Corky gives him what he deserves! Horrible version of "I Shot the Sheriff." And they win? Yuch!
@XxNisforNicoleXx The Town East Mall will forever be famous with the Cotton Candy Movie and that may had been the best scene of the film. Did they have any entertaining music events through the years?
I remember watching this when it first aired in 1978, and believe me, we did not find it corny! I don't remember anything about the evil band except that we of course detested them, and those white cuffs the singer wore. I can't believe the horrible singing!
ppl think I'm insane when i try to tell em about this movie, like I'm making it up. "Yeah, sure dude; Ron Howard made a movie in Town East, whatever." I now have youtube vindication. Worst Version of "I Shot The Sheriff" OF ALL TIME.
One of my fav movies back in high school when we were all starting bands and trying to be cool. Great movie and great memories. Thanks. I'd forgotton about Jai from the tv Tarzan show on bass as well!!

I do remember that film and it was Ron Howards debut as a director filming alongside fellow AG Alumni Charles Martin Smith (Terry The Toad Fields)

@CowbellProfessional My sister and me watched it too the night it came out. We were looking forward to it. VCRs cost to much back then to tape it :)

By chance, does anyone know what the date was when Cotton Candy was broadcast on primetime in 1981?
