I love Jeanne Lee. It is hard to believe this was her debut, it so already so sophisticated and actually i find it similar to her last work. By the way this song reminds me of the Isle of Bonaire. Encore!
Great version of this composition by the amazing John Benson Brooks, composer and pianist who wrote "You Came a Long Way from St. Louis". 5 stars for Jeanne Lee and Ran Blake.

Man, you scared me. Ran Blake is still alive and just released a new album, "Grey December - Live in Rome".
Too many great artists die all-too unnoticed by the media. So rushed to look if what you wrote was true, luckily it wasn't.

A masterpiece -- and a lost one at that. Out of print on Amazon, not available on iTunes. Any suggestions about where to find this album?

Thanks to bor2beblue.
This disk has always been considered a real masterpiece.
Also listen to Jeanne Lee with Mal Waldron and with Archie Shepp.
