The fact that he was able to pull off a 3 hr film was a milestone. The novel is lenghty and he was able to shorten it and make the concept of the story come through on the silver screen, he was true to the characters and the story except for a few needed tweaks that were done in a tasetful manner. his films are shot in a STYLIZED fashion. That's why there was the slight sepia tone to 300, and the reason the battle scenes were shot in that pause-go method.

the movie and book are both amazing. I think many people look at it and just assume it's a normal superhero story, when it's really so much more than that! i feel like most super hero movies out now are focused on a single superhero who saves the city from a single villian. but this isn't what watchmen is, and it sucks that people are just looking at it as another ordinary superhero film =/

actually, it's a known fact that most all the characters of Watchmen were based off of various comics. Because there were some legal issues, they just changed around a few things.

Saw it yesterday and it truely is an awesome movie. It would make a lot more money if it was a 15, but the scenes of gore, violence, sex pushes it over the r-15 barrier...that said, "300" was r-18 and made over $450mil worldwide.

Just go buy yourself a fake beard and tasche to try sneak in...otherwise you'll just have to wait till your old enough or get your parents to get you the DVD.

The characters in Watchmen are nothing like Batman or The Silver Surfer. This is not your typical movie like most "epic superhero movies" that have recently been made. Your comments lead me to believe that you have never read the graphic novel. I suggest whoever goes to see this movie read it before hitting the theater. Zach Snyder is a great director and will hopefully do much better on this than the directors of The Fantastic Four and Spiderman did for their lackluster movies.

Every character in the novel has influences on numerous big name Superheroes. But then again most characters in the comic universe do. The graphic novel has so many other layers other than it just copying other superheroes. I suggest you read the book to find out what they are.
