I do sculptures made out of polystyrene and cover them (after I have put a protective layer in between) with fiberglass and polyester resin. The finishing I use is normally a 2 component primer and on top of I spray car paint.
I have always thought of doing a metal surface but given it up because of costs. Would your products work on my fiberglass / polyester base and if yes, which primer / metal application / patina type would I need to use? khs@mail.telepac.pt
Can these products/ process be used on plastics?

Do you think this would work as a backsplash in the kitchen? What could I use for the clear coat?

would this finish be safe for a kitchen table? is it non-toxic?

Well, the Copper coating is water based so safety would be more an issue of the clear coat.

I used the silver variant of this stuff with black wax for antiquing effect, and it looked gorgeous. No VOCs needed is especially nice.
