After the surgery, he had a hard time, just like this video, he was frustrated coz he cannot scream anymore but he had already get used to it!!!

You can see his singing skill has improved in the album Artwork, without those fantastic screaming, but still , awesome.

The Used have been forced to pull out of their remaining June shows and all their July shows, including a Warped Tour run, while singer Bert McCracken has surgery on a node on one of his vocal cords. According to a post on the band's Web site, in addition to the surgery, McCracken's doctors have advised him to rest without singing, after which he is expected to make a full recovery in about five weeks. The band hopes to hit the road again in September.
