I'm only 18 but I keep telling my family that I'm going to move to hawaii as soon as I get my studies done and get some money saved up. Hawaii seems like the perfect place to live and start/raise a familiy. I could be wrong, but either way I'm gonna find out for myself.
I think you might be the person for this question: I am considering Honolulu and San Diego. However, I am concerned Honolulu might be too isolated. Im also an economist so I need to be aware of work opportunities. Did you find Hawaii felt kinda isolated? Do you think that finance sector or business sector or govt sector jobs would be hard to find? Are you more satisfied in California now?
@HaVVaiianVVarrior yo that's not very nice brah, not all white people are the same, I've met some really nice white people. Of course you get the cocky headed white guys who think they're better than everybody. But brah cannot judge a race based on a few people
@modblogger1 Haha, that's a touchy subject. Although I've been to San Fran. and Orange County and just speaking of experience from those 2 places. It's far better in Hawaii. The people, the air, the water, everything is just better. If you want to know anything else feel free to ask.
@im1greatman Yes, it's true some people dislike non-locals. Although It really is about respect, if I'm a foreigner and come to Hawaii thinking everybody lives in grass huts, aren't hard workers, and are a bunch of 3rd class citizens. No you probably won't be liked to much. Although if you're a nice person, treat people with mutual respect. You will get along fine! I've visited the mainland before, went to downtown. All i have are bad experiences with people. So I know Hawaii is unique.
I've heard of racism toward non-locals (whites) and the extreme cost of living. Is their any truth to this and what info could you give me on making the transition from living on the mainland? I would also like to know, what you personally think a good salary is on the Islands?
@dee2011217 And why do you think that is? History gives us a bit of understanding of how that came to be. Not to mention, you have a lot of Mainaland people coming to Hawaii just to be homeless...
You must have had a blast living in Hawaii! I have lived the Grand Cayman Island, Spain, Greece, in The Canadian Rockies and Australia! Hawaii looks cool! I am going in a week!
I'm am a Hawaiian native living in Texas. We do not have thousands of people sleeping outside and jobs are easy to get here and food is cheap. I live in a little hillbilly town and there isn't any racism.
@Yellokitti63 really so how u enjoyin tha state? i live near dallas and grew up in killeen near fort hood(military instalation) id like a good chat if your up to talking with a stranger
@Svetylicious Its a hassle but if you just want a clean cool place to sleep and bathe. The Hawaiian Monarch and a few other older hotels/condos may have monthly rates for around $1200 more or less. OR contact many property mgmt. companies that specialize in Waikiki by getting their telephone nos on the internet. Then you will have an idea of the monthly rate market. Unless you don't mind paying daily rates for 2 months.Do the math.Who wants to spend their time inside a hotel room anyway ?
JUST CHECKING OUT VID'S OF HOME. SHORT BUT GOOD ENOUGH.....LOLOLOL
MADE MY DAY AND MADE ME HOME SICK!!!! I SEE YOU MOVED TO DA BIG ISLAND, STILL GOOD BUT I WAS GOING SAY, MAKE SOME VID'S OF DA NORTH SHORE, MY SIDE..... STILL IT'S ALL GOOD ALOHA !
ive live in Hawaii and love it!! Never have to wear a winter coat or long sleeve shirts again!! If you plan on living here and you can afford it,houses are expensive!! Most of all enjoy it!! Learn the lingal, eat the grindz, and do the shakka to be polite!! Dont be offended if they call you Haole!! Mahalo !!!
I use to live in Vietnam, so i really miss the ocean and the weather. I hate living in Iowa, it's cold and soooo boring. I'm so moving to Hawaii or California after college.
@beeneverywhere12 hey, may I please ask for your assistance about living in Hawaii...im really sick of living here in south carolina and have always loved Hawaii....i have a around 2500 in savings and although I know its not much I just am about to leave and just go..i have no kids are wives or anything and im 25 so why not ya know...i can give you my number after you confirm that you have read this message..thank you
@jjloveless11 lol... I live in WI and I hate it. Its cold as hell in winter and humid in summer. Plus where I live the people are so freaking nosy and stupid.
Cool vid. I love Hawaii and I visit O'ahu often. Just got back from there two weeks ago. I like to stay right in the heart of Waikiki on Kuhio where there seems to be something going on 24/7. I'm looking forward to my next visit that will be soon.
I live here in Ewa Beach. If your caucasion think before you move here. The racism against white people here really sucks. Especially when your looking for a job.
I grew up here but i still got smart ass remarks; 'oh look at da haole girl' and i thought being a quarter japanese would help. <_< imma get a tan lol
I'm from there. It's beautiful as hell, but you don't have time to see the view cause youll be working alott and still be work. It's a nice place to live. If you don't care that you work long hours and have little money left over then its the best place to live on.
That's what my cousin told me. He lived on the Big Island for 5 years and on the north shore of O'ahu for 5. Cost of living was way to high so he ended up moving to New Mexico. Personally I love Hawai'i , but you almost have to be rich to live there and survive.

Terrible photography.
Why don't you enquire in some city you're at about photographic courses, that way you might create something that is watchable.
.
Cheers.

Do a Google search for real estate Kauai. It will knock you off your chair what they charge for some little shanties...over $300,000.
