Wooow cant believe its been 4 years since Camilla Jazz... Being grade 8 must have been great! No life worries.. Cant believe how young i look.
By the way for all viewers criticizing our performance, we were a grade 7 and 8 jazz band who only played together for about 2 years so please take that into consideration before u judge our interpretation of this jazz funk chart and our improvisations.
@xXcRENzXx At the time of the video, the most experienced instrumentalist only had about two and a half years of experience, and probably only one year in an actual jazz ensemble. We tended to speed up quite a bit in some spots, most likely due to the lack of experience. For the record, we did indeed score 91 by two adjudicators, whether you think that seems fair or not :P
On the 10th, the jazz band I'm in is going to play this song at a jazz festival at MTSU. I listened to this, and my stomach just knotted up for some reason.
Thanks - we hope we won too. For the provincials, we played it way better, and changed it a bit. Mrs. A showed us our recording the other day, and we were left wondering how we did it!
Swing by the school if you can, one of these days, and listen to the recording =P

This really needs to have been slowed down. It loses so much of the feel it's supposed to have when you make it so quick and pointy.

The bari solo wasn;t that great, it was ok. Same with the others. But great ensemble playing!

Why do you single out the baritone sax, and specify it?
As a matter of fact, we did get marked down for the solos being too short and prematurely terminated. We did full 16-bar ones for the provincials.
Thanks for the generous words!

Actually, the alto sax soloist is Jeremy, but I like Jenny better.
