  • i love solvang i go there every year and i reccomend my dads friends bakery mortensens :)

  • Looks more like a little town in Germany. The music also sunds like some kind of German Slagerhits :P

  • Solvang is no longer just a Danish township like when it was first founded. It has mixed, Danish, German, and Bavarian ideals in its design and entertainment. It doesn't pretend to be an exact replica of any one place.

  • It`s a danish town, not a bavarian !

  • Why playing BAVARIAN music ?? It's a DANISH place !!

Denmark is a Scandinavian country (between NORTHERN Germany and Southern Sweden / Scania) !

Men filmen viser godt, hvad amerikanerne synes om Danmark og dansk kultur... Bayern, Danmark..ligeglad ...

  • @Paule4002 Send me something Danish and I'll gladly add it. This was music I found in the production program I used to produce it. Sorry, one viewer thought it was Mexican, imagine that. Thanks for your comments. RD

  • thats not danish music thats not danish colture thats not even danish people only the food and the flag is correct

  • that is not danish. you stupid americans have made an german town with windmills from holland. if youwant too see a danish town then search on Faaborg denmark

  • @MrKris8611 We are not stupid Americans, just Americans, can you identify all of the different American styles of music, of course not, that doesn't make you stupid only educated in another culture. Thanks for your comments

  • Wow so many haters. You folks need to understand what a tourist trap is to appreciate it.

Believe it or not the town does have a fair number of Danes still living there. The place was a founded by Danes and a hefty population formed a normal town there.

Later on to capitalize on tourism they created the disneyesque interpretation of a old world danish village.

  • @aduecey The problem is, that the clip is mixing danish and bavarian culture. I know, that Solvang was foundes by danish emigrants.

The vindmill demonstrate e.g. Dybbøl Mølle in Southern Jutland.

  • @aduecey Thanks for your positive comments. I can't believe how ugly people can get about a beautiful tourist stop. Perfectly correct or not, it's a great place. You can learn alot about the different cultures represented there by talking to the great shop owners.

  • I'll try it.

  • Thanks for your insight aduecy. My family and I love Solvang.

  • ive been to solvang like 10 times!!! im going again in a few weeks and im really excited cuz i love solvang!!! it's so fun to go there!

  • this does'nt look a bit like denmark! not even close to the old streets of aarhus.. German music, and german looking city... loool... another thing americans could'nt find out.. they got all the street names right though.. what's up with all the windmills from holland? try to search for VESTAS WINDMILL, and see what a real danish windmill looks like

  • The city wasn't designed to be an exact replica of a Danish village but a mixture of Danish, Dutch, Bavarian, and Scandinavian architecture and culture...but the main theme of the city is DanishThis is because the city was founded by Danish immigrants but over the years it became a tourist attraction and they decided to add other European cultures to it to make it more diverseI live near there...

  • @caliguy92: Trusshouses and windmills are also characteristic for Denmark. There are copies of the Dybbøl mølle in Southern Jutland, of the Rundtårn in Copenhagen and a typical danish (and scanian) white church.

  • Been there - What horror;

    Bavaria on a bad day!!!!!

has no resemplense to Denmark what so ever! What an embarresment!

  • read my above statement to Zmairo...

  • Ja helt sikkert har selv været der.. Ikke fantastisk meget at se men som du siger, et besøg værd.

  • They did a parody on Solvang in the Simpsons once =) anyone know what season and episode number?

  • The episode is called "Little Orphan Millie"

    Go hunting it down...

  • thanks a lot

  • sadly, my hometown for 17 years..haha

  • it was merely a joke =).. and it sounds more like southgerman music.. which has got little to do with traditional danish music.. by anyway,,. seems like a nice and coasy place.

  • yeah, it was a nice cozy place dangerguy. you are also right, it sounds like the old Tijuana brass band of the 60s. You're probably too young to remember that. Have a nice one, stay in touch. RD

  • i want the same mexican band playing at my funeral..

its too much,, but i guess peoplehave a tendency to do that..

  • Hey dacnger guy. that is not a mexican band. It is a German folk band. Check out the comments on the video, and you'll see a comment by a Danish woman who recognized it.

  • I'm Danish and that place doesn't look like Denmark, more like Germany... and the music seems like German walz/folkmusic... however at 01:30 there is a copy of a famous tower from Copenhagen, so it can't all be wrong :-)
