Just because someone screwed up in the first place doesn't mean that person needs to suffer endlessly. People with either bad or no credit need as much money on hand as they can keep, in case an emergency arises. They won't be able to meet that emergency, if they pay everyone else and leave themselves with nothing. It's simply a question of moral imperative-- Family first.

I love that: "screw the banks. they are thieves." So, I can take money from them and not pay them back because they are theives, and that makes me also a thief, but somehow that's okay. Oh, and "they stole it to others to begin with" - via a savings deposit. Because I am stealing from them, they won't be able to pay a higher savings rate. So really, I am the one stealing from the saver, but somehow that's okay. Terrific logic there.

These banks got billions as a so called "loan" from the taxpayer with the license to pay the shit back whenever with a much much better deal than any of us could hope to get from any bank. Where is our loans?? Where is my share of this money?? I have debt just like the banks and I am about to go under, DO I GET ANY HELP???!!!! NO. ive been a bill collector for years and i hate irresponsible people. theres no excuse for credit card debt whatsoever. its not the collectors fault you went out on a shopping spree then cant pay for it. i can understand medical bills. shit happens and alot of people dont have ins. thats understandable. but people who refuse or cant pay credit card bills are just flat out deadbeats. no excuses. its simple........if you cant afford to pay for it, DONT BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or they get laid off and can't pay, exactly how are these people dead beats? Bad things happen 2 good, responsible people. Then you have the problem with these banks jacking up interest rates on people wit good credit for BS reasons. Not every1 that can't pay a credit card is a deadbeat. Besides ass wipe if every1 paid on time u would be out of a job

This guy works for the banks. A credit card application is NOT a valid contract as it only has your signature. If you take his advise and call the credit card companies and agree to pay 1 dollar, they have you in a legal verbal contract for the balance of the debt plus fees. Remember before you are connected to the Rep, the message says the call is being recorded. A verbal contract is a binding contract. Don't listen to this guy!! You will get screwed!!! Study contract law for yourself!

the contract is only legally binding if it is in writing.. The verbal is a confirmation to an agreeance to make a contract but not binding.. but nevertheless., id say screw the credit card compaies anyways !! they screw you so screw them

I never went bankrupt from Medical bills. I have health insurance that I pay a reasonable sum for every month. I work. People who don't/won't, too bad. We are not a socialist country.

Anyone who keeps credit card debt for more than 3 months is financially illiterate. Teach this stuff in Grade 8. Teach them that holding stocks and credit card debt at the same time is a recipe to lose money (your stocks would have to gain 50% consistently pre-tax) in order to break-even on most debts.

And if you can't pay it off, don't acquire new debt. I can promise you that - mortgages and health crises excluded - exactly none of these debtors went bankrupt because of one single purchase.

Here is an idea: Don't charge up more than what you can pay off when the bill comes, and pay the entire total when you get that bill!

banks take deposit and loan then out...but then when someone withdraws money the loan is still owed? it is call money creation aka fractional reserve banking. Fractional reserve banking causes calculated inflation and deflation, and gives banks ultimate control over the economy. Banks therefore trade bookeeping entries for real goods.

when you understand how the financial system and credit companies REALLY work, then you'll see that you owe them NOTHING. look into how "credit" really works, and you'll see that you owe nothing because they never lend you anything! people are not being irresponsible with their debts, they're waking up to the scam that is the credit card industry! look into it if you don't believe me!

not trite just annoyed. I hate when irresponsible people get themselves in so much debt and then try to hustle their way out of what they owe. The only reason I commented in the first place is because im a credit analyst and i know the all the excuses, if you have to negotiate anything with any bank your credit is already shot and negotiating will only jeopordize your credit because your claiming financial stress.

Please save your Business Reply Postage Paid Envelopes from credit card offers. Then Mail the credit companies a brick or other heavy object using their own postage permit. This is a legitamate business reply as long as it goes to the address printed with the permit #
