answering Jasper8372 - Yes they did, you can see that in any Sete-iai viedo, but that's not full real, for that you need to find koryu, which hold the original form... there are kata that teach a way to fight if a war negotiation goes wrong (both kneeled like Mae) and some fancy ones that prepare the samurai to face several enemies in an "ambush" like Shi-ho-giri or San-po-giri
Just a quick question I apologise because I have no knowledge of the Samurai.Did they practise the drawing of the sword often because surely back in the early years that would determine the outcome of most hostile situations?
Being a student of the Western or European martial arts, I participate in rebated steel combat. The movement and behavior of the sword differs greatly in combat, when one blade is striking another. The senses and emotional energy of the fight, whether it be in one on one or melee with many others can interrupt your training and you must rely on your conditioning. Does your group participate in any full contact training like this, armored or otherwise?
Wow just plain wow ... i loved how every move and transition was fluid like water but then again these guys probably for the most part have at least several years of training if not more
so cool !!! :D

Thank you for your comment.
We are not belonging to any Ryu-ha. In a way it's kind of hybrid.

Very good speed and 'softness' of movements. I love it. What Ryu do you practice?
