@violetoctohedron I started off playing bass first so i slowly started learning what was good. I had a small practice amp so I didn't really know anything until I got my bigger amp.

@violetoctohedron sometimes the camera sucks for recording! My original covers werent the best, it made some of my covers sound out of tune. Nowadays for each song I change the equalizer on my amp for the tone that sounds the best :P

@violetoctohedron Thanks! It really does, it helps you distinguish what you're playing and what is going on in the song. If it's always bassy you might overpower the song, and if you're learning, that doesn't help anything :P On another note if you use a fretless, that helps even more when controlling tone because you have to have the exact pitch!

Yeah, I changed the tone so it's more noticable and so people can hear that I am playing. The tone for the actual song is very bassy and doesn't always stand out, it depends on how good the speakers you use to listen to them are.

It wouldn't make a difference if you played it on one, the notes can be played on a 4 string but it's all good :)

awesome playing man. ive been trying to tab this song for awhile and everybody seems to be playing it a little bit differently and I think yours is the best version. im having trouble figuring out the notes after the 12th fret on the D. haha I have no idea man, but thanks for calling mine the best! I don't know the notes or how to read them for a bass, so I use tabs or I listen to the song and learn it that way. If something doesn't sound right I correct it though :P I can find you a tab if you like

the only thing i could say anything is just the sound of the bass.

i dont know what your recording with but this really isnt a funk song or anything so you could probly use alot less mids and highs and alooot of bass, especially for a sublime song.

but thats just sound wise, your playing is very good
