  • Well, its probably about that we shouldn't put people into numbers and shouldn't care so much about what others think about.

Remember, his question wasn't:Are you loved/liked strongly by someone/many?

Which means, it wasn't about the positive part, but the negative part of having a favorite. If you have a favorite, all the others become less.

It wasn't about how strongly you're liked, but if you're just liked more, than others, meaning: public opinion.

  • Yes, you should always top the list, but to truly live in the now, your favourite person should be the one you are talking to at that moment, which might explain why John looks a little wistful at the end.

  • can someone explain it?

  • Your favorite person should be yourself. Anyone else is just gravy.

  • Wow. That was great, the perfect thing to see right this minute. John C. Reilly + Miranda July = YEAH! Now I'm going to go make a list of people whose favorite I am. I hope I have enough paper. ;) Hahahahahahaha.... Hmmm.

  • Wait, isn't that the buddhist guy from "Anger Management"?

  • The video is about the sad human condition. Maybe the video was just the start of the research, maybe the meaning continues to unfold in conversations about it. I'm looking at the comments here and all the lonely sad people, keep writing "I don't get it" Maybe that's the point. Maybe people want a loud and flashy 15 second commercial with a plot twist and some sex appeal, trying to sell them something, leaving them with the hollow feeling inside that flashy tv and useless purchases cover up.

  • coooooooooooool !

this is awesome ! It;s so sad to realize that you;re nobody's favorite person ... or to think haw sure u are abt this .. would be sad also to lie yourself thinking that u're smb 'favorite person and not to be .... really sad .

So the oranges were a compensation 4 those who aren't favorite to anyone ... We shall all be more tolerant with each other ... so , we could afford to be smb's favorite or to have a favorite person .

  • i DON'T REALLY get it but ok hahahaha

  • that sad. that 2nd guy.

got girlfriend but really certain that he's nobody's favorite.

  • A little sad this is

  • i just watched this and then randomly found it on imdb haah!

  • Did I mean right if the 2nd guy also had have a girlfriend? If so, the first chick did too, but she knew she's someone's fave.

  • Wow I feel stupid. I don't really get it. I guess I was looking for some hidden meaning, and I didn't find one.

  • How nice it is to be someone's favourite person, something all of us should have the gift of being - the video reminds us of these simple valuable things about life

  • hmm, maybe it was just too obvious. For a film like this you would expect some deep implicit meaning, but its a pretty general theme. That's why i don't like it, it's not clever or deep at all. Nor is it funny.

  • i dont get it?? what was the point of this video?

  • I also don't really understand the message of the video....

  • wow, amazing video

i really like that one :)

and it actually really makes you think about that stuff..

  • what is the name of the actor who takes the oranges?

    he looks awfully familiar...

  • The credits say Mike White. Check him out on imdb. He was in School of Rock among other things.

  • That's W.C. Fields, famous comic actor.

  • W.C. Fields, the guy who died in 1946?

  • hahaha

  • This really made me think. Do my favorite people know that they are my favorite people. How many favorite people can one have?
