Great work! Im a huge F451 fan and this is great! Check out my video response, its from a full length multimedia production I did of this show. I love your interpretation though. Very cool.
our public spaces are places where we spend the money we earn in order to fill our lives with supposed meaning..
our possessions and chasing after perfected appearances of them have become the idol's of our pursuits. How can life have meaning in the midst of this focus?
reading Fahrenheit 451 is like looking into the future.....oh wait a minute, we're already in that future. iPods, buying PS3s Wiis and Xbox or anything our friends don't have to make us happy, pointless reality tv programs like American Idol , Beauty and the Geek, and Real World, and teens who think reading is for losers and nerds. Its like Bradbury predicted exactly what happened.
Hm, really? Well... It has been a few years already, but I could swear I remember reading that there were cars ramming each other, and quirky clowns chopping each other's limbs off! ...If I'm wrong, whoops! ^_^' My mistake.. Although I'm quite certain!
A minute later, three White Cartoon Clowns chopped off each other's limbs to the accompaniment of immense incoming tides of laughter. Two minutes more and the room whipped out of town to the juet cars wildly circling an arena, bashing and backing up and bashing each other again. Montag saw a number of bodies fly in the air.
Good trailer, but the TV shows play a VERY little part in the story.
You're right of course. The TV shows were very minor in the story itself. This video assignment was meant to describe the book's overall setting. And TV is a huge part of how the F451 world works. It gave us our own chance to be completely random and violent and evil... ;)
Wow a play version of F451? Kinda hard to picture, but that sounds awesome. Good luck with that! :) It's definitely a great story, with some heavy duty themes.
jersey shore is the perfect example. pointless shit.

Well, on YT everything is going to that way. More YT Poop, less intelligent things (like censoring "1984").
Sniffer194 3 years ago
1984 was definitely an intense one, it haunted me long after I finished.

You capture what Random fun(ex. YouTube Poop) means on t.v. It was crazy, like in the book.

just pointing out- in the book, the tv shows ARE entirely pointless, but have no hint of violence.

Yeah, and ALL the walls too! But, I sure as heck didn't have screens like THAT to film.

Page 94, reading it strait out of the book
"Abruptly the room took off on a rocket flight into the clouds, it plunged into a lime-green sea where blue fish ate red and yellow fish.

Right on! We're doing this play in April at my college. I love the story. It's so dead on to today that it's scary.
