Why would they bother to port DS course when Mario Kart DS and it's course's is fully playable on 3DS via backwards compatibilty. Should have focused on Home Console retro course.

I think because Nintendo wanted to include some courses from all previous Mario Karts. It would be weird if the DS courses were just left out

@12west90 I know we call it Mario Kart 3DS because Nintendo first named it just Mario Kart. Later Nintendo renamed the game to Mario Kart 7 in order for the game to sound more specifc. Therefore, Mario Kart 7 is the 7th Mario Kart game to appear. Though I don't know why they would call it Mario Kart 7 because there are also Mario Kart Arcade GP games. there was also a sequel to Mario Kart Arcade GP, but was released in Japan only.

i just watched a video of a wii hack of wario coloseum and he said it was a retro course for mk3ds, but the mushrooms were green and it had tricks, the new mk doesn't have tricks or green mushrooms

This is mario kart ds not 3ds. 1) on 3ds it has the position 1st 2nd... On the top. 2) the item boxes are not the cube with a moving '?' it has the box floating and moving.

Now that is ONE COOL COURSE. Of course I sucked at it. I pretty much sucked at all the courses in the MK DS! I can't even practice them. Somehow my game vanished into thin air (none of my girls will own up to taking the cartridge out of MY DS...... and it's been missing for months). Now, I never could get this course - I only played on it a few times when playing online with a friend. so I'm still confused as to how to get to it (sorry for my ignorance....)

Well, you can play a custom track of this course on MKW. But that's a whole other story...

The CT versions of this track in MKW is not a good representation of how awesome this track really is. The DS version is more "polished"

Oh yeah. Good memories. AWESOME course. This was in New Super Mario Brothers Wii and Super Mario Galaxy (the first one),if I recall correctly. One of the bosses,I believe... Anyways, the traps and trickery ranging from bullet bills to lava bursts make this course really fun. Really good choice for a MK3DS track.
