TOO BAD CBS and Proctor Gamble COULD NOT keep up with different Time Slots.

Let's Make A Deal have much better Time flexibilty because they can air the Show anytime all pending on certain Syndicated Show that air.

Guiding Light DID NOT have Time Flexibility GL wanted to continue to air at 3:00PM ET/2:00PM CT However Markets like Chicago,South Bend,IN,Detroit,PhiladelphiaBo­ston and New York wanted to air in the Late Morning because of the low ratings.

You're sad too? When I was a 9 or 10 year old boy, before my wife was even born, I started getting into my Mom's show, the saga of a lady named Beth back from the dead...I watched Guiding Light with my mom every day after school almost until the time I graduated high school. Turns out I wasn't the only guy watching- in 8th grade, a buddy of mine came in one day and immediately stated "I can't believe Maureen's dead!"

So yeah, I'm losing a big part of my childhood- go figure. :(

I stopped watching because it got sooooo stupid. The best characters, they got rid of, that stupid song, omg!!!!! What happened to the old opening song, I loved it!!!! And it's like watcing a low budget movie, it's horrible looking, even the characters that are left that we love, are acting like they cant even act...I dont know what happened to Josh and Reva but gee whiz, no wonder everyone stopped watching, do some changes cbs and you might be alright

Yeah, I agree. I was watching episodes someone is putting up from 1998, and this show was really good! It does look pretty amateur now, but only TPTB are to blame for that!

It is not none of that. The GL is the longest runing show in TV history not just daytime, not just drama, but TV history!

The GL needs a little more respect to show that no TV show have come close to what THE GL has done!!

Thats so direspectful to get rid of a perfect TV history show!!! Its the best and all ways will be the best!

what a glorious day! after the way this show treated michael zaslow(roger thorpe)by firing him in 1997 for having lou gehrig's disease, thank goodness this show is seeing it's just dues paid. suggestion: bring back Another World in it's time slot(i know, it was an nbc soap but hey, work with me here)

Briliant Video! They should use this as an opening sequence. However, all is not lost, I heard that CBS/Telenext is in talks to move GL & ATWT to Lifetime. That would be good!

I think that we should try to boycott all Proctor & gamble products as well as CBS for canceling this show. It's like puttinga gun to a person's head and killing it because it costs too much to take care of it!!

i was so pissed when NBC cancelled Santa Barbara that i switched to dif soaps to start watching. i never got into GL but i know its beloved like AW was beloved. sad when a soap falls. it will b truly missed by the fans and the soap genre. my heart gopes out to GL fans!!

I don't watch CBS or 'Guiding Light' but it's sad that the show is going to come to an end (to be fair to GL fans) because it ran longer than practically any other show in history.

I would like to see Roxie come back and Sonni/Solita come back, and Holly and Fletcher come back, and Ed Bauer come back. I am hoping that they go back to telling the stories "Guiding Light" told best, ones about family and friendship, I hope they have a few more Bauer BBQ's and I hope they at LEAST pay some sort of homage to the late Charita Bauer who played matriarch Bert Bauer until the late 1980's. They have been given a six month lead time to wrap up. They better make it count.
