For the gear i say use group parts lets say, Man 1 is a medic he will use light arms has advanced medical items and if strong enough a light calpsible strecher.

Guy 2 is a Rifle man so Semi-Auto rifle base items

Guy 3 is a Engineer, Light guns blow torch crow bar As the rest is kinda basic

most local gun shops will let put an AR15 on "lay-away" , its the best way to get a firearm when you cant afford to drop $600+ at once. Go talk to your local shop owner and he/she will do all they can to get a firearm in your possesion.

No matter what system you adapt to for your fighting load buy extras of all items and properly store them. Things wear out and fall apart in the long run just from nonstop walking and other physical motion. Lighter nylon and molly gear will wear at critical points where loads rub together and cannot be repaired in a way that will last. Expect to replace. The older LBE systems were made of thicker and more durable material and they too will wearout with time. Victory.

I usually replace all metal clips for securing harnesses with parachute cord. I have found that it adds to comfort and enables me to use smaller equipment simply by lengthening the para-cord, my h-harness is a medium and I am not a medium. I carry pretty close to that system when hunting.

The average person is not going to spend $500.00 dollars on webgear and then another $500.00 plus for the lattest of what ever in armor if they have to outfit many people in their family or close unit. I think he needs to talk more about escape and evade and other tactical information other than infantry equipment. You would have to improvise in the long term.

The minimal non-fighting/comfort equipment is necessary. Be armed to the teeth, and always have communication.

E-tool, fighting knife, multi-tool and pen-knife are must.

Go get a wilderness first aid qualification.

I love these videos, but the guy in the background in this one makes me nervous. Not only does he keep his finger on the trigger, (no-no among well disciplined shooters) but he keeps swinging the rifle around and moving around. I keep expecting to see the rifle discharge accidentally.
