Thank you so much for the tour. I was hoping that you willed in Miami. I'm looking for people around Miami to share information. Where did you get the platanos?
Wow, beautiful and relaxing. What type of papaya do you grow? I live in Southern California. You think I can do something similiar on a third of an acre? What are those little twirly worms. Thanks for the education on papayas.
Thanks for the tour, beautiful garden you have there. only place I know in S. Fla that has land that fertile looking is down in Homestead. My Mom, lives in Hollywood Fla. after 6 inches, its all beach sand lol. but our mango and sapodilla is does well there.
@gilgamesh1962 - I actually live near Naples, Homestead is about 1 hour away or so, I amend my soil with loads of free tree mulch from a friend. I spread about 12 inches per year on top of what I have. I also raise rabbits for meat and manure, that keeps things fertile as well. I live in an area where many people are from the islands and they all come to pick my papayas to make that shake you were talking about! I usually just eat them with lime and sugar.
I envy Florida's weather...sometime...=D
