I like someone else's comments though that music does not have to be compared - we should enjoy all kinds of good music - same songs, different versions - shouldn't matter. I personally think this is a great one. As an Idol fan from day one, this song should have clinched Idol for Clay Aiken. He's still busy though - just google what he's been doing.

Yeah, he should have won. I remember rooting for Ruben, but I was only doing it because he was black and sometimes as a minority, you tend to want to support someone of your race. But I still could clearly tell that Clay was much better than Ruben. When Ruben won, I was thinking that the people who voted for Ruben were did it because of his race too which usually isn't the case in America. I know they really liked his personality though.

@Seyahhsod The other guy, as in Ruben. The difference between Clay and Ruben, was Clay had star quality. Clearly the public liked Clay more than they did Ruben.. I mean, try comparing album sales, and you'll see. Clay is considered to be one of the most successful people ever on Idol, and Ruben doesn't make that qualification. Not to mention, Clay has a very unique voice, & Ruben doesn't. Don't get me wrong though, I loved Ruben.. but Clay was better, and I'm not the only person who thinks that.

I find in all covers of "Bridge over troubled water", the singers sing it with the backup and make it very loud. That's not good. If you think deeply about the soothing lyrics you will see it's inappropriate. Check out the live version of Art Garfunkel. How simple it is! Just his voice and the piano, nothing more. But still powerful and fantastic!!!

But Clay Aiken has always stood out to me. Of course, this is all very subjective.
