Cristal dinamics is a very easy engine, i meen, look at the level concept, its just way to easy, you have, like, tons of new stuff you can do to make your way easier...
Core´s Tomb Raider Engine was way better at this points, but i like cristal dinamics, it made the game realistic ^_^
I like both for their own charms, I am still playing the old Core classics today and the Crystal Dynamics interpretation has its own levels of enjoyment.
I mean I played TR:A first, then went back to play TR1 and enjoyed that just as much to spite the decade separating them.
Well if it's "entirely different" then can you explain me what kind of idiot copies all the crappy animations from the older "set of animations" to the "new set of animations"?
I have already seen a lot of same animations in TRU that i saw in Legend, so not so "entirely different".
@Butterflylord The animations have nothing to do with it, they did use new animations but then simply taped over the old ones. Its just giving it a different coat of paint, the wall is still the same shape. She still does that in TRU because they didnt change the engine, only made a couple of tweaks. So she STILL cant slide backwards...
I noticed the author didnt choose to show the shotgun glitch on the slope where her waist goes thin as a pencil...
Sorry you had problems with the controls and checkpoints. And I can tell you for sure that what you found was indeed a bug. What did you not like about the controls and checkpoints? We'd like to know for the next TR game we are working on.
Well bugs usually get fixed in the next game, but this was already in two games ... if "YOU" dont remember, and im sure it will be in the next game too, the one "YOU" are working on.
Well as long as you can get through the game and have fun playing it, I would say that is a good thing. Games do have bugs in them, but as long as most all of the major bugs have been fixed, consider yourself lucky. :)
Well what do you expect? The aim is not to create a carbon copy of Core's TR Engine, it uses a whole new engine with it's own unique ways of working. Not lazyness at all.
The thing about Lara sliding backwards is it makes angled jumps and grabs harder. Anyway, it is conceivable how Lara would always try to orient herself so she is sliding forward where she has a good look and can more easily jump over things.
Appreciate it for what it is, not what you want it to be.
hahah great one XD
it looks dumbass ROFL

Actually, we normally use different or modified engines from game to game which have an entirely new set of bugs.

Thats weird cause Lara's moves have still something from the Soul Reaver from 1999.

Well, i didnt have fun playing it. I would say i was more like annoyed all the time, mostly because the checkpoint system and the controls suck.
Oh and this was no bug, its just lazyness of the developer.

If you dont like the Tomb Raider games from Crystal Dynamics, why do you choose to play them?

I don't think you are supposed to be going up that direction in the game. Trying going somewhere else.
