  • wow they go through puddles too

  • Normally i do not prefer MCN videos- when they only talk and you hear not the sound of the bikes. But here it was now a really good informative video - it was senseful explained why and what .. good commented. I liked it.

  • la bmw gs 1200 le gana a todas esas chatarras porquerias, bmw tiene la mejor tecnologia del universo, asi les duela pichurrias del infierno suerte, buen video, nos vemos en el infierno

  • fuck up u versys more power

  • @nixcom5 You are writing nonsense. What you want witth a "Versys" against Multipurpose bikes like a Multistrada with less weight and much more sportive punch and handling than a 4cyl. compromise ? You make just empty blabla

  • Nice video but in my opinion they should have used the bmw gs 800 instead of the 1200...that bike is more comparable with the other three....

  • @010totheteind Why?

  • the wind noise is fucking ANNOYING !

  • legal o video....

  • Great video! Note the BMW GS has no chain...nice on long and dirty outings not to deal with lubing or cleaning a chain; in addition, the BMW GSA has an 8.7 gallon fuel tank and at 44-50 mpg you may not ever feel the need to carry those stinky Jerry cans filled with fuel.

  • Gr8 videos i agree i had a test ride on the BMW gsa and gave that back to them after 250 miles then went and bought one

  • rode the multi and expectations were high - hated riding it - ergos were awful for me - gave it back after 15 minutes happy that i wouldn't have to spend that amount of money

  • WHY DO BMW ALWAYS MAKE ASYMMETRICAL BIKES!!!???

  • @RACCHIETTO i like their asymmetry, it gives them uniqueness and character. =)

  • I love the KTM :-)

  • im not good at bikes,so please dont call me dumb, are adventure bikes classified as sportstourer ?

  • @KPKonliner perfect example of a sportstourer is f ex a kawasaki 1400 gtr... Though they've mixed up the classification of bikes nowadays....

  • @KPKonliner perfect example of a sportstourer is f ex a kawasaki 1400 gtr... Though they've mixed up the classification of bikes nowadays.... I would classifie the BMW 1200gs as an adventurer...

  • @KPKonliner yes anything with the name tour is for adventure like a harley

  • Fantastic review Mates!

  • lovem them, BMW or Multistrada 4 me pls

  • Triumph all the way!

  • I am getting a hypermotard 796 in a year!!!!

  • I have one and absolutely swear by it in all modes. even offroad

  • if the BMW was a triple it would be the ultimate

  • I don't agree with the woman sitting 2-up...the Multistrada was way uncomfortable for me and the Tiger was great. The grip bars on the Multistrada are made for someone with no hips or butt!! Additionally, the seat height on the Multi was a lot lower than the Tiger, which meant I couldn't see over the shoulder of the driver on it. I liked the Tiger much better.

  • @MonicaRidesMoto ducatis are made for italian beauties with cute tiny butts :P

  • @lamilumag Oh yes, because, that's how I picture all Italian women. Just tiny little things. Um, no.

  • Come baby Asian ladies lushfmlk.info

  • I really hate biased test....And they never compare it to the adventure... and i sure as hell didn't see them go of road... all those bikes look pretty clean.

  • Does anyone else think that the KTM Adventure would have been a better fit for this comparison than the SM? I'd like to see a shootout between the GS1200 Adv vs Multistrada 1200 vs KTM Adv vs Yamaha Suoer Tenere (ALL with offroad specific tires!)

  • With that Ducati it's like Snow White and her three ugly stepsisters.

  • The Ducati may be a great bike, but it really isn't a true on-road/off-road (dual-purpose) bike like the BMW or KTM....it's really just a slightly more clever road bike that would probably best suit many of the 'never-take-it-off-the-road-anyway' BMW owners.

If you want a bike that will truely take you off-road adventuring, as well cruise you comfortably along the highways that get you there, my vote still goes to the GS.

  • Very rarely does my dad ever let me ride his Multistrada, but all I have to say, it is a great bike. its a shame the enduro mode is useless where I live, but the Urban and Touring settings rock!

  • Just bought my Multistrada 1200 S Sport...what a wonderful bike....

  • crazy nutters!!!! your on the wrong side of the road!!!!

  • What ever happened to gettin on a bike and just going?. now you have to switch things on and off, turn different modes on, by the time you're done its December and 10 inches of snow!

  • Hello, nice vid mcn, as always. I am a lucky owner of a multistrada. I came from a cbr1000rr and i never expected that this transition was so smooth and incredibly better in all aspects, comfort, power, engine, well i just say that i turn on this moto like a SM and with the security of a sport bike. supporting wind days like a charm. Love the multistrada, 2000km just rided.

  • Géniale mais quel prix !!!!.....

  • I love the multistrada but it's not for me today :-(

Sad that the price must be so high.

  • @TheYellowZub it's not just the price.. servicing is really expensive, and if you don't keep it serviced on time, regardless of milage, they won't honour any warranty work. My mate fell foul of this with his 1098.... the ECU blew 2 weeks out of warranty and cos he hadn't had it serviced after 1 year (with about 1800 miles on it) they told him to sling his hook. but the do look awsome

  • my old touring 996 engined, Ducati ST4S with open pipes and 40 tooth rear sprocket, destroys the BMW R1200GS and the older ktm 990 adventure"S" on the road.

  • very informitive :D thanks alot!

  • very informitive :D thanks a lot!

  • so..

why the 1200 need enduro mode, when it have an abs & traction control

just wasting money i think (the enduro mode) :P

  • I'll get one in 2 weeks!

    :-)

  • I sure wish the Ducati had a bit bigger ergonomics! I am 6"4" with a 34" inseam. I test drove the Multistrada last week - what a complete riot to ride! However, it is just a little cramped for someone my size... You'd think if Ducati wanted to compete directly with the R1200GS they would have considered this a bit more...

  • Good job!

  • Thanks! A very fair review. It was good to see it compared off road. An earlier review skipped the off road riding. I knew the wheel size was going to be a problem. 17 inch is too small for some rougher dirt roads.

The weak point on most videos here in youtube land and from you as well is sound. Here you've done a much better job than most of your other videos.

  • Graet Video, Great Ducati Bike But Too expensive

  • Fantastic quality video MCN, the use of the cameras, sound and music were all top notch in my opinion. Michael Neaves and Michael Guy are the best two testers on youtube. Period. Please keep up the informative and fun to watch videos!

  • lol the "BM" bowel movement?????

  • MCN you have great videos, you just need to put it on 720p or even 1080p, definitely!

  • I wish I could have gone for the R1200GS but those bikes are so expensive...

  • @euheide

New Multistrada 1200 is even more expensive, incl.panniers.

  • @snabbeltax Yeah, I was surprised to hear that on the video heheh. Only Ducati to be more expensive than the BMW. Any of the two are way overpriced in my opinion so, between too expensive and even more expensive, is the same to me heheh. An adventure bike is something one isn't supposed to be worried about scratching the paint of I think ;)

  • Its almost like MCN read our comments down here and improved on their videos. Everyone complained of too much time with fly by shots of the bikes, and now they are gone! Its just pure information now. More than camera angles and the cosmetics, there is so much more information, I'm just loving it!

  • Great bikes but for my tastes....VSTROM

  • Nice video MCN, keep up the good work.

    ciao from Italy

  • Long story short, in the world of Adventure Touring, the BMW is still king.

  • very good review!

  • This is the best video done by MCN so far, compliments!

  • They always have new gear on!!

New shit any bike....my high school guidance counselor fucking lied to me

  • 150MPH!! that's insane on a bike like that!!

  • Great Video

  • what camera were you guys using? its got great pics

  • you can turn off the abs and the dtc, and there is only one level of abs

  • Like the camera work in the opening of the film.

  • multistrada 1200, perhaps the best all rounder ever made >.>

  • Wow, an actual sdecent length review... not 3 mins long

  • Please test again include YAMAHA SuperTenere 1200.

  • I'm considering blowing every penny I have to buy one of these. Its just so tempting. Been following this new model since its announcement

  • i'm thinking motorcyclenewdotcom is a little biased towards Ducati. Don't get me wrong I like Ducatis but not every bike they make is better than all their competition.

  • So.. BMW still better. You KNOW it'll be more reliable as well.

  • @ftpaddict and when it does eventually go wrong.....more expensive too

  • This guy always makes good vids, the music was good too :-)

  • God, I love these videos. Another great comparison MCN, thank you.

  • YEESH £14000 you can get a half decent vmax

  • @cowtipper84 haha... vmax

  • Duck riders I've met would have a seizure if you were to ride their machine though a puddle like that one at speed.

  • Traction control, ABS, multiple riding settings.. next year they'll come with a Chauffeur as an option. What happened to man becoming one with the machine learning how to ride it like no one else can? They are promoting riding with low skill levels.

  • @daedalx I agree, i like the idea of traction control and ABS for when things go wrong to save you from a crash, but i don't think that they should be relied on. I just use emergency braking drills and its never failed me before

  • @daedalx

yeah right. how many ppl do you know practice riding enough to be superb on the machines they own? Then ask those ppl how many ppl they know that do the same? Then find out if they have full-time jobs or are retired old ppl with time on their hands. This isn't 20 years ago, ppl don't care about skills, they just want to go hard. That's why the GS sells like it does, cause it's mythically bulletproof; you don't need skills to crash it IF it goes off road.

  • Cool

  • Cool vid!

  • I love the Multistrada, unfortunate it's sooooo expensive

  • @morpheus1976 just buy the SMT ;-)

  • @morpheus1976 look at the price of a new harley. And look at what you get just an overated bike with loud pipes. Most people buy harles just to say they have one.

  • @jeffkenevil5 not true my friend. Harleys are the only bikes big enough for the oversized riders who ride them. Furthermore, one needs a great deal of real-estate to place all the chrome bits to make them garish. Every wonder why so many of their designations are "Fat", "hog" , "wide", etc? Still, I must admit they are attractive to look at; so to each his own.

  • @aminevich ha ha ha so true. real men ride Harleys... sophisticated men ride Ducati's.

  • @morpheus1976

    my dad gots one!!!

  • @morpheus1976 Ye it set my Dad back 18k

  • @morpheus1976 how much does it cost?

  • @paraskevas15 in the video he say 14000 £ => ~23000$

  • I love them all, where do I sign?

  • Great review guys. Never tought I'd consider owning a bike like the Multi', might have to give one a go some time. Now - where did I put that Lotto ticket?
