  • I just tested the tightest house I have ever tested last week for air leakage. It was NOT spray foamed.Granted they are tight, but when you can seal a house just as tight, or tighter, for less than 50$ worth of caulk, canned foam, what advantage does this insulation have? It's r-value/inch is similar to it's competition, except using the competition you don't have to condition your attic, and you can install over double the R-value in your ceiling than you can with foam.Where does foam make sense?

  • None of these guys bring up the important details. They could have mentioned cellulose is best at stopping sound, not foam, maybe saving them money while providing better results. They could have also mentioned the "build tight ventilate right" is BAD here in reality, if the fresh air exchanger stops working?Darn house is extremely unhealthy now. Oh and now you have one air source for your entire house, so when your neighbor sprays a cloud of insecticide out by your air intake......

  • What type of climate is this house in? Very cold winters/mild summers etc. Did you use a heat exchanging ventilator and if so how did you find it? What about general reductions in heating cooling costs as well as the cost of installation?

  • It is non-toxic.
