  • It is gross. I don't like hairy armpits and other areas. It gets in my mouth and is itchy and is just terrible.

  • This is what happens when a brand selling men products for most of its history starts to target to a new group. Still I don't think it's sexist. While yes, there is a double standard about body hair; I don't think anyone is making women shave at gunpoint! It's ridiculous and unnatural but still people do worse things to "please" the opposite sex. The whole beauty industry is constantly trying to establish a younger beauty standard... it was a matter of time to someone make it more "intimate".

  • This is just way too FUNNY! So random but funny.

  • ahahaha thats funny and still a good commercial.

  • How in fuck's name can anyone take this in at face value and not find it grossly offensive?

  • I'm thinking of a word that starts with a P and rhymes with "edophilia"...

  • This is real?! LOL

  • 0:31 is just plain funny!!

  • sweet lord.......

  • in my experience, shaving "down there" just makes for itchy misery. wtf.

  • I can't believe this is real.

  • 0:38, her ovaries?

  • Awesome!

"So all that's left for me to see are Tulips on the Mound".

It's been said that the only thing better than Roses on a Piano, are Tulips on the Organ.

  • Hahaha

  • cant see how shaving your pubes is going to make you cheerful and happy... but you guys should check out the french commercial for wilkinson bikini "ma garden party" that ones offensive!

  • maybe ya'll should try it.

  • This commercial is so effing stupid. Wilkinson can kiss my hairy rear for all I care.

  • Lmao at the shaved pussy cat.

  • is THAT all you've got?

    :)

  • YEAH BALD SKANKS!!!

  • Whatever floats your boat, of course, but don't they realize that shaving makes you look like a child??

    thanks!

  • She says "Toolsheds equipped

    My forest clipped

  • she said "my toolshed is equiped my floor is clipped"

  • No. 'My forest clipped'.

  • I'd like to help her with her blues!

  • ha, i love that

  • Similar little commercials don't usually garner hits this fast....it time it may even come to be known as a turning point in feminist philosophy.

History books may recall it as "Battle of the Barren Mound"!

  • These comments are hilarious! This is every psychologists wet dream, incite into the minds of people who have nothing better to do than argue their stance to a random person on the internet. None of which will amount to anything since neither person will be swayed by an argument on the Text Comments for a youtube video.

So please go on. Or just put away the keyboard, take a deep breath, and remember that you should focus on yourself more than the opinion of a random anonymous person online.

  • Arguing online (and on YouTube, of all places) really does have its purpose: it gives a medium in which to see the often idiotic opinions people actually do hold, and so see what you're up against in trying to change the opinions of the world at large.

It's not about the random anonymous person, or for that matter about me: it's about (in this case) the welfare of American women, and the slow struggle to change society.

  • I suppose you do have a point. You do get a chance to see the opinions of the heated masses.

Yet it is futile to argue online when it comes to the attempt at changing opinion, since, more often than not, the people who get heated enough to argue are the people who refuse to have their opinion swayed.

  • au contraire, I have more than one sucessfully broadened the mind of pseudo-feminists on You Tube (and other forums for that matter). Once the initial rage passes, many come round to realize that 1) Their perceived paranoia that every commercial is not actually out to get them and 2) that being a feminist isn't about arguing against everything you dislike as a woman but rather insuring that women the world 'round have the ability to do so.

It actually works, tri it! +, look at all the hits

  • Which is ironic b/c that is exactly what you're doing. Believing that you have a superior intelligence, you feel justified to step in and "break up the fight" with what you perceive is your superior logic. Yet in doing so, you have "lowered" yourself to the status of an arguer?

Take note of princeranian, its an important debate...would you discount it if it occured in a college classroom "Women 101" or something? Arguments happen, what better place than cyberspace? This way we don't have

  • to deal with cro-magnons, who unable to use logic or process the logic of others, reduce themselves to meat sticks that start throwing punches.

Trolls aside, I believe that Ketchup, Prince, and Azkamina are coming from a place where their sense of outrage is valid, if a little misquided, and we're arguing about whether or not all commercials selling products to women are anti-feminist in nature. Me thinks not, they thinks yes..hence..valid argument.

  • To be honest, nothing called a "Wilkinson SWORD" is going anywhere near my vagina O_o

    Very amusing video though!

  • bush or no bush i'd go to town on all those girls

  • Feminists are supposed to fight for a woman to have the right to do whatever she wants....seems a few on this post are more interested in limiting what women are exposed to and having a choice.

I understand the "anorexic/thin" argument against some models and the importance of deterring young girls from a bad role model, but what the @#%! is wrong with shaving oneself?

Since when did overgrown crotch hair = empowered free-thinking women?

This shit was funny + clever! Kudos to Wilkinson!

  • two lips (tulips) on the mound was FUNNY!

  • @nointro I JUST GOT THAT. XD

  • They should have shown some bonsai kittens during the part about different bush shapes. It would really express the beauty of misogyny.

(btw, the tabby was a lot cuter than the siamese :/ )

  • notice the asian talks about her garden being small! haha.

  • two lips on the mound! lol

  • Wow. This is just sad.

  • Ha. I find it funny how she's petting a pussy cat on her lap in the beginning.

  • The pussy cat is shaved. Haha.

  • LOL WTF

  • Oooooh my.....

  • Wow.

  • except more humans...which is beginning to become a problem in itself

  • pimp-i think after reading your coments-your whole life is a PMS commerical

  • this is great stuff, YES girls; mow that lawn DOWN!

  • I don't think you could have such a cutie commercial about Brazilian waxing...

  • mangroomer. Google it. They did a huge campaign last year on places like Stern and elsewhere. This s late to the ballgame. Still, cute.

  • What's wrong with mowing the lawn? and

the whole women degradation things is another issue

  • I mow my lawn all the time!

  • Very funny! Makes a nice change from all these ads for women's beauty products that take themselves too seriously! And the tune is catchy too. Is this actually being shown on TV anywhere?

  • I've never seen women so excited about yard work.

  • and to who posted about amanda palmer down there..you fuckin rule.

    she's a badass.

  • wtfff?? Well its all preference i presume.

  • Pubic hair = weed? Untidy? Really?

Wow, talk about misogynistic bullshit. Even sadder, there's clearly some actual talent behind it that could be put toward not-quite-so-offensive efforts. As Amanda Palmer points out, Wilkinson appears to be mixing up their razor and gardening tools departments.

  • what a cock :p

  • Brilliant!!!!

    LOL

  • two in the muff one in the rough

  • certainly made me roar with laughter - v clever lol

  • I love chicks who mow the lawn, and who can clean out the garage, and take out the trash, and who can cook and clean, and do my laundry for me, FIVE STARS!

  • is this a real commercial?

  • yep

  • I love... to mow the lawn.

  • I work at Home Depot. So if any of you ladies need help mowing the lawn just know we have great deals on riding mowers.

  • lol good one sir

  • lol nice

  • Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

  • This is awesome - i love it!!

  • You're one of those ignorant people who is of the opinion that body hair=dirty. Which is an idiotic claim that I hear all the time. There IS pressure on women to look a certain way and it's fucking bullshit. It should be a choice what you do with your body; and if you choose not to do something that is 'not the societal norm' then you shouldn't be fucking persecuted for it. If you think body hair is unattractive that's fine but don't act like the whole world needs to feel that way too.

  • Body hair isn't dirty..but too much hair can be a problem, especially in certain areas. Just ask the team of ER docs & nurses who have to deal with in when patients show up in the ER/OR.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to keep hair clean and trimmed, and there is certainly nothing wrong with selling a product that helps people do it. You can choose not to shave if you want to...your partner can choose not to go down on you because all that hair attracts additional microbes & smells

  • There's a difference between shaving a part of your body because you have to get an operation and just shaving in general. I don't disagree with shaving, I just disagree with all the bullshit that gets shoved down our throats about it. Keeping hair trimmed is not the only way to keep it clean. Do you trim the hair on your head every time you want to keep it clean? And body hair is not more dirty and doesn't make you smell worse; in actuality, body hair wicks sweat away from the body, which

  • creates less bad-smelling bacteria. So yeah, my unshaven pits just naturally smell better than some shaven girls. This commercial pisses me and others off because it's not ONLY selling a product. Sure, it's cute and clever. But it's also saying that if you don't trim up or shave or whatever, you're bound to feel unclean. And that's untrue. That's why it pisses me off.

  • Again...the ad only markets to those who DO feel unclean as a result of too long or too much hair...not everyone.

The only under-arm bacterial infections I've seen (in hospital, etc) have come from armpits w/ hair, either too much hair or someone not using zinc based deoderant/anti-persperant.

First time shavers experience issues, but after the skin gets used to it, the smooth surface attracts/hold less microbes than sweat covered hair.

  • Yes it's an ad for those who want to shave. To add to the dozens of other ads out there about shaving. People get pissed about this because they're sick of being told to alter their bodies to feel pretty. You can choose not to listen to it but you can also still be angry about it. Maybe if there were an even amount of advertisements that promoted healthy-body image and being okay with your body, maybe then people wouldn't be so angry. People who speak out against this stuff get called

  • overreacting feminist Nazis or whatever but people have every right to be angry. We're constantly told to hate the way we look and alter it somehow, usually by consuming some product. People are becoming more aware and speaking out and they get downed for it.

  • The irony here is that the commercial actually says things like...no matter what shape it is and imply trimming it, not shaving completely. As I told the other feminazi, its one thing to speak out about ads/models which encourage bad eating habits, and its another thing to jump on everything that shows a body image you don't agree with. Do you yell at every woman you pass wearing high heels, scream at every girl with painted nails, harass every female who puts her hair up in a pony tail?

  • Yes, speaking out against advertising which promotes bad health habits is the right thing to do. Both the ones with too skinny/runway model attitudes AND the ones with "It's OK to be who you are" that DO NOT encourage fat and obese people to seek help and lose weight (which is just as critiical, if not more critical than too skinny...the ratio of deaths caused by anorexia to deaths caused by fat/obesity issues is insanely favored towards skinny)

The point is, there are issues out there, but..

  • ..this particular one ISN"T one of them. You're picking a fight with the wrong people and wasting your efforts on the wrong battle.

Did you really watch the ad? None of the girls is too skinny, and ironically, they went out of their way to include black, white asian, short tall, blonde brunette..

The also say TRIM..not shave completely.

As I mentioned to another, just because you're unshaven mound doesn't cause you discomfort, it doesn't mean that others don't have issues...

  • As a co-ed cheerleader in college, I can tell you that the girls on the squad were conscious about it being visable...swimmer have to shave it for their swimsuits...some women have really thick or really dark hair that might be visible in a swimsuit...the list goes on.

The fact that your last boyfriend left you for a girl with a clean shaven snooch does not make Wilkinson Sword the enemy..it makes you a hypersensative girl who ruins a lot of entertaining things for the rest of us..

  • Aww, I'm so hurt that you tried to pick me apart and call me out on the supposed reason I'm so bitter about shaving commercials! It's very funny how you try to make me look less credible by making it seem like I'm just some oversensitive crybaby. Continue to make your assumptions about me and others who call this bullshit out, as I'm sure it makes you very happy. I have better things to do with my time than defend myself to a moron like you.

  • Incidentally, I'm her current/only boyfriend, and I love that she'd never touch the Wilkinson Sword. The (obvious) point here is this:

Women can shave, or not, if they want to. However, this ad is one more reinforcement of the ultra-common double standard that women MUST shave - otherwise they're gross, ugly, etc., or "untidy" as the ad puts it - and female pubic hair is a "weed," whereas the mainstream media is comfortable with body hair on men. It's stupid and misogynistic.

    That is all.

  • It is a social norm to have society dictate what is attractive, people just need to be able to decide for themselves rather than get sucked into the culture. Then again, the culture is who we are since its part of our environment and has had an effect in shaping us and our opinion. The point is that you decide what you like not because someone told you, but because you are being indirectly manipulated by the everchanging opinions of billions of people. All you can hope to do is stay on your path

  • Uhm, no I don't. You're of the opinion that I believe that if a woman shows interest in something like makeup or shaving or anything like that that I'm saying she's catering to the mainstream mentality. I don't care what you do with your body, if you shave it completely bare or dress it up. Do it for YOURSELF, not because fucking commercials and hordes of people tell you not to. This is the last I'm going to respond on this video because continual circular arguing on Youtube results in nothing.

  • No, I'm just proving that you can't take a joke..which is why we can't take you seriously when you want us to believe that this commercial somehow offends.

Your objection is no different than a brunette woman who hates blonde women or a short guy who doesn't like tall guys because they attract more members of the opposite sex. No one is going to believe that there is a tall blonde conspiracy.

And you're right..ranting against razor commercials does NOTHING for the femisist movement.

  • Love the blatant juxtaposition of orange tabby in the beginning and hairless Sphynx at the end.

  • Exactly, clever commercial and good job by both the marketing dept and the director of the vid. Thanks for mentioning something relevant and meaningful as opposed to (see elsewhere) trolling and pointless.

  • are you a man or a woman?

  • YOU ARE A WOMAN, I AM A MACHINE!

  • What? Hahah...oookaayyy....well, I'm just saying, beauty is a myth, and if YOU don't want to fuck woman with bush, that's one thing, but I can assure you there are PLENTY of woman around the WORLD with massive bush who get laid quite fabulously on a regular basis.

  • Where's your sense of humor? Up your ass?

  • I just wish things would change...

  • mmm noodles is a fucking moron. Remington the gun mfgr. is not the same company as the Remington shaver company. Both make good products though and Remington shavers' stock just went up!

  • HOT

  • What's even funnier is she's stroking a... umm.. KITTY.. at the end ;] ;]

  • "tuLIPS"...

i see what they did there...

  • this is possibly one of the most outrageous commercials I have ever seen. Ignoring the overall message, just the beginning is preposterous; as if shaving your bush will lift you from the deepest, darkest depression. I mean, conforming to societal norms really fulfills a person.

  • A lot of women find the "grooming" ritual to be an acceptable form of pampering. They associate with a nice clean shower and a sense of being attractive.

Explain to me why "standing out" & "being an individual" = don't shave your pubic hair?

  • I don't know why you responded to me, especially with quotes, as if I said those things. I never said girls shouldn't shave, I have no problem with it. I do, however, have a problem with corporations pushing images on people that when you don't conform to you're considered ugly or gross. By all means, shave away if you like it better.

  • the 1st quotes=using a term to loosely define everything that a trip to the bathroom may or may not entail. I assume that some will find offense with the term regardless, who cares (shrug)

The 2nd set was in response to your sarcastic comment about conforming. Not just you, but all those who posted implying that shaving is somehow "anti-feminist" or some other BS. If you don't shave, it product isn't for you...why some people decided to go feminazi is beyond me...and other rational people

  • Fair enough.

  • OMG YAY, thank you to this wonderful GUN company for telling me how to TRIM MY VAGINA. Nothing's quite so uplifting as a bunch of women singing about shaving my lady parts. yippee.

  • This is just another disgusting attempt to perpetuate some screwed up image of what a woman's VAGINA *SHOULD* look like!!!!!!! "You can now CHOOSE the SHAPE of your vag, OHHHH, how liberating it is!" How much more can we socially construct vagina fashion? (pst; the company that makes these razors is partnered with a company that sells garden tools, guns, and motorcycles...).

    This makes me sick...

  • No, your vag must make people sick. Its a cute and clever way to advertise a product which is necessary, but doesn't utilize some butch scary woman talking about the dangers of rampant pubic hair and the increased threat of infection/discomfort due to the overgrown mess you seem to think is acceptable.

  • Ahem, are you attempting to suggest it is morally wrong for one's vagina to look the way it does naturally? Please explain yourself...

  • No, I'm implying that it is morally wrong to beat up a company for advertising a product which some people find useful, and then attempt to label it an anti-feminist sentiment.

To shave or not to shave, that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the pimples and razorburn of outrageous fortune,

Or to take arms against the tides of change and by opposing, end them.

Hairy chested men were in during the 70s; now they are not. You didn't see furry men taking up arms?!?

  • I agree, I like a natural woman... just as long as she doesnt look like she's got Buckwheat in a headlock

  • And uhm....sorry but ingrown hairs and infections (or razor burn as it's called) are caused by SHAVING. It grows back in, curls and grows into the skin.

So yeah. You obviously have not been doing your research. My vag never gets infected or nasty ever because I clean it, just like the rest of my body. It's quite lovely, bush and all.

  • uhm..sorry...but I knew that. Read the play on words..to shave or not to shave...the following bit implies that shaving does in fact cause razor burn

No one implied that all bush are nasty, only that some girls can grown more than others...so just because yours comes out all pretty...doesn't mean they all can.

P.S. Try it once..see what your Significant other says..see how its more sensitive during sex (important for some, not others)..and see if it dosn't make oral sex easier. nuf said

  • ahahah so funny

  • I LOVE this fresh & flirty commercial! I just wish it played in the US.

BUT... Just what is she singing between 0:44 to 0:47??? It sounds like it rhymes with FLIT or QUIT.

  • "Toolshed's equipped, my forest clipped"
